Would it be easy to add things that exist now like the popout game data feature, or has engine/method of creating themes changed and you would have to start from scratch?

The pop-out feature is only for LB themes not BB themes. So that could not be added to this theme. Not much has changed when it comes to coding a theme so to add the new pop-out feature to a LB theme you would just need to ensure the lines of code are added in.

Go to the Views folder inside Unified and open the View in which you want to have the fade removed with a text editor of your choice. Search for the line that start with <!-- FADING WHEEL --> and delete all lines beneath it until the next blank line.

Than search for the line

<DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetName="Pointer" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Image.Opacity)" >

and the line

<EasingDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:1.4" Value="0.15"/>

beneath it. Change the Value from 0.15 to 1

Thanks, that worked great to remove the fade-out of the wheel of games, alas that doesn't change anything about the fade-outs of the wheels that come before, the platforms, playlists wheels or w/e they're called. I still find myself staring at an almost completely black screen with the exception of the date and hour.

Just to be sure, we are supposed to only delete the lines that come after <!-- FADING WHEEL --> but leave the line <!-- FADING WHEEL --> intact, correct? Do we leave just 1 line of blank space after it?

I was playing around a bit with Unified yesterday and noticed that for my custom playlists, the theme displays the Unique name rather than the Nested name. Is this expected behavior, and if so, is there an option to choose which is displayed?

Thank you!

Depends on how you're viewing them.

If you're in Playlist view, you're going to see the unique name.

When in Platform Category view, the playlist will be nested under something. Be it "Root", a Category or a Platform. So the playlist's nested name will be displayed.

Option 1, change the view you're in.

Option 2, be in any view you want and have the unique name and nested name be the same thing.

Sorry, I should have provided more context. So in LB, I created a new category called "stonev Arcade". Under that category, I've added several playlists that mimic the LB-generated MAME playlists but with added platforms. For instance, I have Unique Name, "stonev Atari Classics" and Nested Name, "Atari Classics". In BB, under Options > Views, I have Default Startup View as "Platform Categories". When I stop on "Atari Classics" on the selection wheel, the text in the bottom-left corner says "stonev Atari Classics". I would think it would just say "Atari Classics".

So I think I'm in the correct view (Platform Category). At least I hope that's the case because the unique=nested won't really work since I'm essentially copying (and modifying) already-existing playlists.

I hope that makes sense!

The other day it was "I left out one critical piece".  We'll get it all out of you yet. :P

I suppose it wouldn't be very unique if it was the exact same as another. ;)

The easy way to "fix" your concern... unless you plan to create several or many "Atari Classics" playlists, is to set the unique name to "Atari Classics" (vs. "stonev Atari Classics").  Then in that view, that's what will show.  Just make sure to set the parents/nesting accordingly to match your intent.

To answer your original question, yes. That is the expected behavior.  And I'm pretty sure there is no innate 'switch' to display one or the other.

That said, it may be possible to edit the theme's view to force displaying the Nested Name. But I don't know for certain as I don't 'do themes'.  If this is the route you wish to pursue, AND if it's even possible, the themes author may be able to help.

Clearly, I prefer the drama of the reveal. Think of the fans, Joe!

Ok, so looking at it more closely, all of the auto-generated Arcade playlists have "Arcade" as a prefix (e.g., "Arcade Atari Classics"). So really, calling them "Atari Classics" doesn't break any rules, so I'll just do that.

That said, I think there's a useful tweak here that @CriticalCid might want to consider. I think simply switching to Nested name might cause issues to current users, so a display option to either use Unique (default) or Nested would be an appreciated upgrade.
