Otherwise it's the smoothest is ever been, I'm running 3 monitors all 3 play videos, and videos are very smooth, and loading fast, same as clear logo wheel, new cache system made it snappier. So, really would appreciate a response from someone from dev team on when/if the rest of the issues are going to be addressed -LaunchBox does not open in a regular fashion. This is wholly unacceptable, requires me to force close and retry opening it on avg half a dozen times to get the program to even load. This isn't even beta related, it has been going on for many prior versions. So with that said I can confirm there are still animations that are getting triggered that should not be when exiting a game and returning to Big Box in a normal fashion. ie exiting the game as intended and having the Shutdown Screen come up and return to Big Box. I have stuff like box images, cart images, disc images and the short animate (change position) that should only happen upon entering the view, but now they occur again. yet several other animations do not trigger Please note the extra animations that are occurring. The obvious ones are the box and cart image are doing their animation when they should not be.....but there is one harder to see. For games that have a 5 star rating I have given some elements animations where they change color. My idea here was I wanted 5 star games to have the stars "flash" so they are supposed to turn white before fading back to gold/yellow. That animation is wrongly happening when returning to Big Box as well! The new fast grid prioritizes scrolling, and badges are a huge cause of the performance issues when scrolling, so to prioritize a smoother experience, badges temporarily clear while grabbing the scrollbar and dragging past a specific threshold, then they instantly appear when you stop scrolling. it does not happen when scrolling with a mouse wheel. Animations can be triggered in many ways in a custom theme, so it's not as simple as "turn off all animations when returning to Big Box", and it's more "make that theme's animation triggers more robust so it doesn't trigger an animation when returning to Big Box". Basically not all animation triggers in all themes are made equally, and you may notice if you look closely that all animations are not being triggered when exiting a game, only ones that use a specific trigger, or have a particular storyboard/workflow. I may look at shoring up some of that so it's less likely that theme devs can make a mistake there, but it may have unintended side-effects, so I'll tread lightly there and see what I can come up with. 2 hours ago, skizzosjt said: -LaunchBox does not open in a regular fashion. This one sounds like a build specific issue more than a global specific issue, in that for the most part this is not happening for users and is more of an edge case. When this does happen to you, provide logs that get generated, LaunchBox logs and windows event logs, and we'll see if there's anything more we can do. Quote
