Desktop app crash every time that I try to open the Options window
C-Beats replied to ZizoMass's topic in Troubleshooting
A hung window is not always a crash, just means Windows thinks the application is taking longer than it should for it to tell Windows to redraw the window. I'd look in Windows Event Viewer and look and see if you have any application error logs generated that may help point us to what is going on. -

First I've heard of anyone having the issue? Does an error window pop up or does the application just close? -
Installation Field Issue with Imported titles.
C-Beats replied to HolyLightning's topic in Troubleshooting
I looked into the cause of this and found that the newer apps have a completely different way of assigning IDs that was breaking the integration. I have code changes in place and will let you know when we get them into a public release so you all can verify it corrects what you're seeing. -

Amazon is the same way. We get the uninstaller information from Windows directly. Windows still says the application is installed and we update the flag to agree to it. As previously stated I've never seen this happen if you properly install/uninstall your game. Only time I've seen this reported is if some one just goes and deletes the folder and considers it "uninstalled". You should be able to use the Add/Remove program feature of window to attempt to uninstall those games. It will fail and ask you if you want to remove the item from the list, say yes and then it should remove the entry we read and your install state will be correct. You probably should do it anyway though for the health of your operating system. Having a bunch of orphan registry values isn't really great. -
Hmm, I'm a bit of a loss then. Neil may be onto something with the filename. I've not really seen people have the issue you seem to be having, though I admit the Pokemon games I could see potentially having more issues than others. I personally have been able to scrape all the released titles without any changes though.

Do you have the rom matched to a GamesDB ID in the metadata tab? If you don't it can make the EmuMovies search far less accurate. Why I was asking for screenshot of the metadata page
-
My list looked similar to Neils when I tried on mine so you definitely have something going on still. Care to take a snap of your metadata page for me? Our names do typically match up. I didn't have to change anything for mine to scrape correctly so there may still be something else going on.
-
You're title looks like it missing some characters from mine which did find stuff. Try naming the game "Pokemon: FireRed Version" (without quotes).
-
Yeah. I mean if you're not using the name provided from the drop down for your platform (like using the name "GBA" instead of "Nintendo Game Boy Advance" for example). I would try to remove the special e and replace it with a normal one and see if that helps. Some times the artwork doesn't use those characters (or not ALL of them do) and it causes mismatches like that.
-
I'd verify your games title, the platform name, and the scrape as of the platform (if you aren't using a standard name for it). Typically any issues with EmuMovies not finding the right image types are caused by that. You could also verify your EmuMovies credentials are correct (though I would doubt that is the cause since you are at least seeing SOMETHING in that window).

Only time I've seen this happen is if you manually deleted the game instead of uninstalling it properly. For Steam we read the registry entries Steam writes to your system that tells Steam whether the game is installed or not to determine the install state, and for Epic we read the file they save on your computer with the same information. We use the same information the launchers use to determine if a game is installed or not. You may need to open up Steam and Epic and let them resync their files to determine that you removed them from your computer and update the system files they save the information in. -
Your gif shows what is wrong. You are downloading a "Box - Front" image but are using the 3D Box image group. Your game doesn't HAVE a 3D box image and you don't have Box - Front set up as a back up priority in options and so LaunchBox doesn't display anything. You can add anything that you can run via command line. I've seen several users add websites to their LaunchBox build in the past, but know that they aren't officially support and we don't have any metadata or media for non-game entries and so you'd have to manually add those as well. Should be listed as "Close Active Window" in the controller bindings (or keyboard automation)
-
Inside of LaunchBox go to the hamburger menu (The 3 lines, located upper left of the window) and then go to the Cloud section. Have to enter your GamesDB credentials if you haven't already (top most option) and then once you have the "Sync to my collection" item (middle option) should do what you want.
-
Anyway you could post a pic what you are seeing?
-
Should be in Beta 2. Let us know if you don't have it for some reason.
-
This is why. To download videos from EmuMovies you have to have a premium EmuMovies account.

Not sure I want to include an option to sort things incorrectly, but can toss in a ticket to via the "Help & Support > Request a Feature" at the top of the page and see how much traction the idea gets and go from there.

Little problem with video in custom theme.
C-Beats replied to Logrim's topic in Custom Theme Tutorials
Sounds like your video is sitting inside of a Transition Presenter. If you don't want that transition animation you can use a Content Control to display the video view, or can potentially use a FlowVideo control if you ONLY want videos displayed and to not fall back to an image. -
Put the title as the sort title to sort the games like this.

RetroArch isn't the default emulator for Arcade. MAME is. You can use RetroArch for Arcade but it requires a few manual steps to do so. You will need to go to Tools > Manage > Manage Emulators and then edit your RetroArch emulator and add the Arcade platform to the associated platforms tab as well as select which core you want to use for it.
-
Pretty sure theme doesn't have a fallback in it's background so is black because you don't have a platform video for that platform. If you haven't already you can download them from inside of LaunchBox in the Tools > Download menu.
-
There IS but it requires theming to do it. There isn't any settings you can set that do it for you automatically.
-
Can already do what you are asking to do (in regard to nesting franchises) with Categories/Playlists inside of Platform Category sidebar view. You cannot via the realtime filter tool though (unless you do the slash trick I talked about). Also with Theme data I'd make a custom field personally, I do something similar but stick it in a custom field called "Theme". Doesn't hurt anything really to be in genre though.

Or going to change an option in the option menu (like the primary theme) and slamming enter one too many times and having to start all over >.<'
