I believe this is the most current RetroArch tutorial. Edit: Contrary to what ETA Prime says, I would NOT leave all artwork checkboxes checked. Even with the image limit option in the new wizard, you could be downloading gigs of unwanted/unneeded images. Stick with the basic images first until you find a need for others. Basic images are: Box Front, Cart Front, Cart 3D, Box 3D, Clear Logo, and your preference for screenshots - I like Fanart, Screenshot Title, and Screenshot Gameplay. For now leave the EmuMovies images unchecked but select the videos (the EmuMovies subscription is totally worth it for the HD/HQ videos!).

Hello @y2guruI just watched 2.5PU5. The program is looking amazing, excellent job! I think for the release it will be very important to make the wheel spacing human-readable. The way XAML handles item spacing within a wheel is just completely nonsensical. It would be extremely helpful if you were to create a translator that changes visual spacing into XAML spacing. Negative spacing = overlap. Zero spacing = edges touching. Positive spacing = gaps. I'm envisioning this as a slider. The default would start out in the middle at zero. The user could then slide it left or right to change the item spacing to positive or negative values. These values would then be displayed as actual numbers below the slider in a box that can be edited directly for refined adjustments. I think this should be a serious consideration for the release otherwise it'll become one of those tweaks that will drop to the bottom of the pile of things to do and it'll be something that gets attention *someday. I LOVE the theme manager screen!!! So cool! I definitely agree with your statement at the end of the video that creating the thumbnail from the last edited view would be best. However! It would be great if the user had the choice to choose in the settings to have the thumbnail created from the last edited, Platform View, or heaviest view, or let them choose the view per theme by right clicking the them... Oh wait! There you go - just have them go to the theme editor main page and when you right-click a view, you'll have the option to set that view as the thumbnail, other views will then have that option greyed out until you deselect it. You'd need some sort of visual cue to know which view is set as the thumbnail. Speaking of the theme manager screen. Maybe you should have it group Windows, Android, and LB themes into sections rather than having to fuss with filters and have all themes in a organized single view?

Does the game run outside of LaunchBox using RetroArch and the Beetle PSX HW core? Do you have RetroArch setup as an emulator within LB? Do you have RetroArch Beetle PSX HW core set as the default emulator under Associated Platforms? Screenshots of your Emulator config screens will help.

Massive import my PS3 Games Collection on LaunchBox

What about using a tool like FreeFileSync? Set the Source folder as the NEW romset, set the sync as Bidirectional, set the Destination folder as the OLD romset. Run the comparison Click the icon at the bottom to only show the files that will be copied from the NEW folder. Select those files, right-click and delete. Run the comparison again No extra games should be shown because you deleted them. Change the sync method to UPDATE Run the Update sync ***I'm not at a computer to verify if this would work, but something along these lines should get you a quick "update". EDIT: If your romset is much older, you'll find that the new set has ROM names that are spelled differently. You'll need to manually sort that oout ***Keep in mind that you'll need a copy of that full set so that you can manually copy any missing files later since you'll be deleting them in the instructions above.

This is a good tutorial to ensure your settings and files are correct You can also Google your display error and you'll get multiple results. I had this issue in the past and it's easily resolvable - can't remember what the issue was though.

Screenshot of your MAME emulator settings in LaunchBox, please. Told>Manage>Emulators>MAME - edit Screenshot: Details, Associated Platforms ... Now that I think about it, if you did the MAME importer, does that setup the Arcade platform with RetroArch and the latest MAME core? What you are describing sounds very much like a core mismatch which won't allow the games to load. If you want to use MAME then you'll need to make sure that MAME is the default emulator and not RetroArch. Here is a post I made about getting the correct core in RetroArch for your MAME romset.

Do you have a firewall, piHole, or some other frontend device that could be blocking the connection to the update server?

After seeing a couple of accolades about 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge' I decided to get it for my son's Switch. What a FUN game! We only had a chance to play it for 30 minutes but the gameplay was great and was a faithful (read; clone) of the originals, i.e 1989 TMNT arcade game. My son is 7, approaching 8. While playing Shredder's Revenge he said, "Why do they always have to make new video games look like the old ones?" I replied, "Because the 80s were so awesome!". Bottom line, it's a worthy addition to your collection and I highly suggest it.

Is it possible to audit games to see which game is missing which media type?
Knowcontrol replied to Fugus's topic in Noobs
Audit is a nice feature but it's sorely in need of updating. It's buggy in that when you scroll all the way to the right and then try to scroll vertically - the screen randomly scrolls horizontally. It's annoying. But yes, you can also click on the header (Clear Logo) (Video) to sort the games by # of media. It's a great way to find out which games have multiple and which have zero. -
I LOVE the looks of this layout and would like to see it in BB

How do I disable the Scanlines filter on videos in BigBox themes?
Knowcontrol replied to Fugus's topic in Noobs
Worst case, just create a blank PNG file and name it the same as the original file and replace it. -
1. You can drag all the cue files from their location onto the LB window and it'll import them in bulk. 2. You should consider using chdman (search the forum for instructions) to combine the game files into one file for easy file management. chdman also compresses the files losslessly with a savings of about 60% per game!

Make sure to lock any cores that you don't want upgraded (MAME)

Is there a way to remove the double dots " : " from all the game's names?
Knowcontrol replied to Tackskull's topic in Noobs
Bulk Rename Utility by Jim Willsher. You can specify the character to find and then define what is to replace it. Your changes are shown in real time before you commit. -
Scenario: I had played just a few Playstation 2 games (TMNT and The Last Airbender) using the RetroArch PCSX2 core. During those plays, I had made some progress that I didn't want to have to repeat on the stand-alone PCSX2 emulator but that progress was saved to the RetroArch PS2 memory card. Guess what, those memory cards from RA will not load in PCSX2. Well, (in my opinion) the stand-alone PCSX2 emulator (v1.7.xxxx) works MUCH better and is much faster. So I set out to find out if I could move or convert those RA game saves to the PCSX2's memory card. I finally figured it out and here is how you do it: Software used: PCSX2 v1.7.2788 *or higher RetroArch v1.10.3 with PCSX2 core mymc-alpha-2.7 Steps: Download mymc Right-click the zip file and Unblock it Extract it anywhere you choose Go to that folder and run the mymc-gui.exe On launch it will try to find your memory cards. We are going to navigate to the RetroArch PS2 memory card location because that's our goal - to extract the game save and then load it to the PCSX2 memory card. In the window that popped up, navigate to RetroArch>system>PCSX2>memcards You should see two cards - One is named Mcd001.ps2 and the other Mcd002.ps2. Select the first one, Mcd001.ps2 and press Open You will now see some system configuration files and hopefully your game saves. Click the game save you wish to export With the game save selected, click the Export icon at the top You will now get a popup window where you can navigate to any location you wish to keep this game save You can save it anywhere. For our purposes we'll just go ahead and save it to the PCSX2 (stand-alone emulator) memory card folder Navigate to your PCSX2 emulator and select the memcards folder. Do not rename your game save and just press "Save" Back in the main mymc window you will now press the left-most icon to Open a memory card. We are now going to open the memory card which PCSX2 uses. Navigate to your PCSX2>memcards location and select the Mcd001.ps2 memory card and press Open We will now import your game save!!! Press the Import icon at the top, you should automatically be in the PCSX2>memcards folder and you'll see your game save psu file! Select your file and press Open Uh oh. What if you already have a game save on the PCSX2 emulator for that game? Easy - just click the unwanted game save, go to File and then select Delete. Warning! This will delete the existing game save, be sure this is what you intend to do. Once the conflicting game save is deleted, you may now repeat step 15 to import your desired game save. That's it! Once the game save is imported, you may exit mymc and launch PCSX2 and test out your original game save! ***Make sure your PCSX2>Settings>Memory Cards are using the Mcd001.ps2 file in the Port 1 slot. I hope this helps! It worked for me, let me know if you have any problems. *Future tutorial: Having a memory card per each game automatically load to avoid the 8MB memory card limit

Audio volume increases to maximum on its own.
Knowcontrol replied to JackDaniels's topic in Troubleshooting
Check the wires to the speakers you are listening through. Update the audio driver. Disable or remove any audio players. Remove any microphones. Click on the Start button and then the gear-like symbol to open the Settings menu. Go to Updates and Security >> Troubleshoot. Select Playing audio from the options and run the audio troubleshooter. Search MMSYS.CPL in Windows search box. Communications > Do Nothing. Playback>Locate your default Sound device (Speaker or Headphone) and Right click and click on Properties.>Enhancements>Disable All Enhancements -

Apparently I had played a few PS2 games through the RetroArch pcsx2_libretro core. The progress in those games was saved each in their own memory card file - gamename.ps2. Thinking I could just copy those memory cards over to the PCSX2 memcard folder didn't work. I'm unable to load the memory card in PCSX2 (1.7) and have it show up with the saved progress when in the game. Is there a way to have those RetroArch memory cards load in the PCSX2 stand-alone?

Just curious, did you happen to accidentally set the controller bindings within BigBox as Volume Up and Volume Down?
