Sure, well thanks for the purchase @b00sted and welcome! Go into Tools > Options > General > Updates in LaunchBox and check the box to update to beta releases. Then just restart and you should be prompted to update.

@damageinc86 Absolutely; we'll get there. I currently have a video placement bug that is causing problems with exact video placement, but that is on my plate to resolve and should help to enable that kind of stuff more easily. Very cool @Kriven; great to hear. It's neat when things just work even when I didn't even plan it out. New beta is out guys with some really exciting stuff. @circo has added @CriticalCid's platform theme videos to EmuMovies and they are now available as "Unified" videos in the Download Platform Theme Videos dialog. I've also added @Nyny77's and @viking's videos in as well, so there are some really amazing options in there now. Even better, you can prioritize any of them that you want so it's really easy to choose whatever you want for your videos. Finally, I've added previews that will let you stream the videos to VLC to test them before downloading! Woot woot! Check it out and let me know how it's working:

Open - Option to filter after search? - Issues #31, #317
Jason Carr replied to FoxyMonty's topic in Features
Ah, gotcha. I didn't catch that. -
Any talented theme creators wishing to take on this?
Jason Carr replied to m693663's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Yes, we definitely need to come up with a vertical theme. At this point that might be best handled by one of our amazing theme builders from the community though, as they've already proven to build prettier interfaces than the default theme. Let me know if anyone's interested; I can also help out if you need any hardware. -
From the looks of that error, I would guess that @b00sted is not running the betas.
-
@Kriven Wow, good question. That might actually work just as a side-effect of the images stuff, but I didn't build it that way on purpose so honestly I'd have to test it. See if you can give it a test. New beta is out guys with quite a bit of new stuff. Cid's recorded Hyperspin game theme videos are now available from EmuMovies, and you can now also download them from within LaunchBox using the regular import or download wizards. I'm really excited to finally have those available for everyone. Huge thanks to @CriticalCid and @circo for finally getting them available to us despite all the red tape. There's now an option in Big Box to prioritize the theme videos over the standard game footage vids. The Download Platform Videos screen has also been improved; it now supports EmuMovies videos (Circo is in the process of populating them all and adding more new vids). I've also hit up @Nyny77 and @viking to get their awesome videos added in as well. This should provide some amazing options for videos. Finally, Tools > Scan for Added ROMs is now live as well. Let me know how it works for you guys, and let me know if it finds any files with file extensions that it shouldn't find (such as save states); I need a good list of file extensions that should be ignored. Let me know if anyone has a good list of those. It's still a work in progress but should work for the most part. Oh, lastly, there are quite a few new views for Big Box that have been added as well, which should allow theme creators to create some spiffy new views to support those recorded themes. Thanks all!

50 total. Yeah, it can be fairly large, but I'd recommend keeping at least one of each type just in case you run into an issue.
-
@Bizzar721 That is indeed currently a pain point that I need to address; it's on my list.
-
@ckp Can you give me more details on that stuff? LaunchBox shouldn't be using the system temp folder at all anymore so I'm confused there. What are the dates on those files in the %temp% folder? It also doesn't add up for there to be backup files in the Data folder, as those should reside in the LaunchBox\Backups folder. Or is that what you meant? The LaunchBox\Backups folder should be restricted to 50 items.

The XBox One Controller drivers are crazy in Windows 10.
Jason Carr replied to Norfair's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi guys, I have the controllers already, but I haven't played with this in a while. I'll add it to my list. I have to admit though that the last time I played with it, it was a nightmare. Microsoft have screwed up the drivers for the Xbox controllers so badly as of late that it's somewhat of a disaster. We had to switch controller automation to our own solution instead of using AutoHotkey because it just wouldn't work at all. So AutoHotkey in particular might be a lost cause. -
Open - Option to filter after search? - Issues #31, #317
Jason Carr replied to FoxyMonty's topic in Features
Hi Monty, this should already be possible for the most part in both LaunchBox and Big Box (though in Big Box you would have to do it in the opposite order, select your platform first and then search). -
@viking Just messaged you and @Nyny77 about including both of your platform video collections in the video downloads from inside of LaunchBox.
-
@Jazzphone Thanks for harping at me on that; not sure how I missed it but just fixed it for the next beta. @Maddoc1007 Yeah, the music stuff does need a tutorial and also a bit of cleanup on ease-of-use. Another thing that would help is folder support so that the m3u playlist isn't required. We'll have Brad do a tutorial after 7.0 is live.
-
Wow, incredible theme here @viking. Thanks so much for this.
-
Agreed, those features are indeed planned. Hopefully we can get that stuff added soon.
-
Thanks guys. New beta is out with the LaunchBox multi-track music support and controls in the bottom bar. Could use some major testing because a lot has changed music-wise in LaunchBox to support it all.
-
That actually has yet to be requested that I can recall so it hasn't been implemented. Feel free to put in a ticket for it. @Jazzphone I assume you're using a 4:3 monitor? The trouble is that it's not exactly an easy fix because of the changing aspect ratios. @Kriven I'm still hoping we can get platform categories into Big Box before 7.0, but at this point it's not a guarantee. It's still relatively high priority but we keep adding in more and more stuff to 7.0, so I need to cut it off here at some point. @drtechnolust I have indeed heard that recently about deleting games, as well as possibly that game metadata is not updating on rare occasions. If anyone has any further details on this stuff, it'd be appreciated. It's on my list to tackle before 7.0. @salyangel Will look into that.

@Drybonz, frankly, please stop spreading drama. I'm chiming in not because I want to, but because it's best for the community. You're lighting unnecessary fires here. The community uploaded the content themselves; all EmuMovies does is provide access to the FTP and allows users to share files. If you're unhappy with your personal content being available on the paid FTP, just ask for it to be removed. It's obvious that EmuMovies is not claiming exclusive access to community-uploaded content; they're also not looking to be the media police. So stop putting words in Circo's mouth and trying to fight an unnecessary fight. Stuff like this only causes drama and ends up ruining it for the entire community. This topic will be closed soon if the same passive-aggressive points keep coming up.
-
@Drybonz The point is that EmuMovies accepts community uploads. Of course the uploader can post that same content wherever they want, and it's their own fault if they didn't originally have permissions to upload it. If you feel that this content shouldn't be up there, then I'm sure you could raise a stink and get it removed. Unfortunately you'd be missing the entire point of the service. It's an important service that EmuMovies provides to this community, and they do a wonderful job maintaining it all and keeping it available. I know first hand how expensive it is to host this stuff, so payment has to be provided in one way or another to make it available. We personally are able to subsidize the LaunchBox Games Database with LaunchBox purchases; EmuMovies does it through donations. I don't know what your personal objective is, but honestly nitpicking on these things doesn't seem like productive discussion...

Can you auto set "Custom parameters" based off Game name
Jason Carr replied to AgentRemy's topic in Emulation
Honestly I have not tested that app, @StuDentBR. I do very much appreciate it when the community solves these issues with apps like this though. I'm sure we'll add similar features eventually but it may be a bit yet. -
Are the issues in bitbucket ever considered?
Jason Carr replied to Imgema's topic in Website/Forum Support
@Imgema I'm looking at them constantly and many of them have been completed, but the completed ones aren't showing up in the default views. Of course there are many, many requests. We're doing our absolute best to tackle the most requested tickets as quickly as possible. Our live development streams should make this rather obvious. -
I believe all the bezels are indeed all downloadable for free from EmuMovies, as well as of course all of the images. The only stuff that is behind a paywall for EmuMovies is the videos, which are done by EmuMovies themselves. Even the videos now are also available for free if you want to download them manually (and they're even freely available for download in packages now directly from the site). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not believe that EmuMovies is charging for anything but the content they have created themselves. @circo can chime in and correct us here on the facts. I just don't want false information spreading in this thread.

@sirrell20004, I sent you the code in a PM.

Thanks @Timan; yes, our email provider is flooded and is seeing delays because of the holidays. As far as I know all emails should eventually go through, but there have been some significant delays. Sorry for the trouble there guys. I will be hounding our email provider to ensure this doesn't happen again next year (I'm guessing we'll just have to pay them more money lol).
