@Rod, ah, that makes sense. I'm not sure if there's any good way to do that without the DLL integration that we had to get rid of. We're restricted to only calling the EXE due to the GPL licensing so honestly I'm afraid that might not be possible. We can always tell when the AutoHotkey.exe file exits, but I'm not sure if there's a way to have the EXE exit as soon as the script is done running. If there is, we'd just have to add an option somewhere to specify whether or not to wait for the script. If not, we're unfortunately out of luck.

Per the FutureState theme, I can't seem to replicate any issues there either. I did just put out a new beta though that addresses a performance issue with the scrolling notes, so it's worth a shot to see if it's any better. Details to follow.

@emko I will be adding something in eventually to better deal with duplicate images, yes. We'll probably use a combination of a few things, including a checksum algorithm of sorts. Per the black screen issue, I'm pretty lost on that one. It doesn't sound like anything I've seen before. Is it just blanking out the screen or are things transitioning to the black screen?

Thanks @Opaklopper; no problem. We'll be putting out 7.1 very shortly so good enough timing.

You might be right there @Peridot; it probably would help performance. Can you put in a ticket using Issues/Requests in the header? -
Guidance on creating a BigBox Theme
Jason Carr replied to billyc999's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Hi @billyc999, can you screenshot what you mean? The boxes don't ever overlap in the default views (as far as I know), so I'm guessing it's just a XAML issue. -
Ah, good to know @s0m.

Well that's odd...does anything in this thread help? https://autohotkey.com/board/topic/67403-sleep-command-not-working/ Something about changing SendMode might be answer.

Yes, unfortunately the video alignment issues are still there. It's been somewhat of a nightmare to fix, and it's still on my plate.

Unfortunately I don't have an ETA on remembering the last game/system in lists, but I agree that's it a good thing to add. Hopefully we can get it implemented soon. I tend to focus on the most-voted tickets on Bitbucket, so anyone who wants this should go vote on the ticket (assuming there is one). If not, we should create one.

Ah, good find @kmoney. I think we may indeed have had an issue with some people's collections during the XML split, specifically with the platforms. Still not sure what might have happened there. Let me know if you see any more weirdness occurring with the platforms XML after replacing it. I think it was only the XML split process, but I'm not entirely sure.

Thanks everyone; I am slowly working through these issues. I'd say the 7.0 release was mostly a success, considering the amount of changes and how it compares to other releases historically. That said, I'll be working this week to fix as much as possible and then I'll be putting out the official 7.1 release that will focus mostly on bug fixes. I should have a beta out before the end of the day; in the live stream this morning we went through @Pacman56's performance issues and discovered some significant performance issues with loading the scrolling notes. Hoping to have a fix for this out later today. @emko, this may also be what is causing your performance issues, not sure.

Yup, can just delete LaunchBox\Data\BigBoxSettings.xml, and it should revert. Sounds like a cool setup you got there; what's your use-case?
-
Looking incredible @skainlurmis! Between @CriticalCid and I (and anyone else who might chime in), we should be able to get you all the way up and running. You're probably pretty close as-is though from the way it looks. Like Cid said, let us know what we can help you with further.

Coverflow not smooth on powerful computer
Jason Carr replied to Immortal Chortle's topic in Troubleshooting
Thanks guys; we will get back to the rendering performance soon. I don't think it has much to do with nVidia vs. AMD. @ALIE, yes, something like that could be done. It really only applies the first time you load the images up, but I agree that we need to do a better job of caching them in the background. -
Resolved - Include alternate titles - Issue #???
Jason Carr replied to Bedwyr's topic in Troubleshooting
Thanks guys, yup, @Vlansix implemented alternate titles in the DB recently. I just need to get them into LaunchBox itself. -

Can you join us in the live stream on Monday @Pacman56? If so, we can tackle it together, make it easier.
-
Thank you @ckp and @spycat; we'll take a look at those bugs in the live stream on Monday morning. @jadekitten That usually just means that there is an app on your system that is for some reason using that file and won't release it. It could be a file syncing app like Dropbox, or LaunchBox itself, if for some reason it didn't close. I would call it a fluke, yes; probably not worth much research.
-
Thank you @keltoigael, and also thank you for letting me use a prerelease version of your video for the announcement vid. I didn't realize that the theme wouldn't be live yet unfortunately when I recorded it, but I put a comment in saying that it's coming. If anyone is able to replicate either @ckp's or @Pacman56's issues, please let me know. If we have more than one person experiencing the issue, it'll be easier to figure out how to fix it.
-
Maybe it's related to the scrolling notes? What happens if you disable scrolling the notes but keep them @Pacman56?
-
Can you give me as many details on this as possible, so I can replicate it? Are you using Rocket Launcher?
-
Thanks guys, I will review these issues soon. @smpetty So few changes were made between the official release and the last couple betas that it doesn't make much sense that they wouldn't be solid when the betas were. Can you try temporarily removing the extra hardware you added to see if it makes any difference? Otherwise I'm thoroughly confused.
-
I don't believe anything changed recently that should affect Rocket Launcher or focusing the window. I could be wrong, of course, but maybe it's something with the Rocket Launcher configuration?
-
Nope, but thanks for the reminder. Just fixed it and put out another beta. Still planning on releasing 7.0 tomorrow.
