  1. Alright, I *think* I have this fixed. I have deleted all of the games that were approved for deletion, so we're up to date, and I think I've fixed it going forward. Let me know if anyone is still seeing a problem. :)
  2. I agree with @8Phantasm. Retroarch really does provide the best experience for many platforms. However, that said, it is far from the easiest emulator to get set up, so it might not be the best one to start with. It's also not the only way to do those platforms. Nestopia, for example, works really well on NES. So I think I would start with a simple emulator like Nestopia and then move on from there to Retroarch or whatever else you're interested in.
  3. Thank you @shinra358, that is a good point. I'm gonna go ahead with the release as-is but we can come back to that soon. @Zombeaver, thanks for working through that stuff. I've learned that MAME is just problematic across the board because you can't simulate any keypresses for it, but thankfully MAME does provide the option to have a button combination close itself out, so you can customize the MAME config to handle it with the same buttons instead. Going to be putting the official release out very shortly. :)
  4. Thanks, PS4, we definitely want to go there but I'd have to sacrifice too much for the desktop client currently in order to get there. But maybe in a year or so, after the desktop clients are really well fleshed out, we might look to tackle an Android app. Or, if for some reason we see crazy growth and can afford to hire another developer, that'd be great too.
  5. New beta is out guys with a ton of bug fixes from the live stream this morning as well as my work this afternoon. This is the release candidate for 6.7, which I hope to put out tomorrow. Here's what I fixed for this beta (at least most of it): - Fixed: Videos could not be downloaded or replaced when they were selected and paused in the game details sidebar (was throwing an error) - Fixed: Scrape As platforms were using command-line parameters for "Scrape As" platform in the associated platforms for emulators instead of the proper platform name - Fixed: The mouse cursor in Big Box was automatically showing back up when switching between views and "hide mouse cursor" was enabled - Fixed: When "Auto-Play Music" is enabled and "Auto-Play Videos" is disabled in LaunchBox, music was not auto-playing if a video was available for the game - Fixed: Manually playing a video using the Windows Media Player engine in LaunchBox was not stopping any playing music - Fixed: The DOSBox configuration editor was not populating screen resolutions properly - Fixed: The default platform clear logos were being saved to disk as JPGs instead of PNGs - Fixed: Windows Media Player videos are now centered in Big Box in the games views (for vertical videos); however there's a glitch with the VLC playback engine so VLC videos are still not centered Let me know if anyone runs into any glaring issues before we put out the release tomorrow. :)
  6. Awesome, David! That does look great! There should be a way to fade in the wheel, but that will be a complicated thing to play with, and may require some actual code. I'll be putting out some more tutorials here soon (one will be on animations soon, which will help), so we'll get there sooner or later. I have a feeling I'll have to custom code that myself though.
  7. Thanks all, putting these in a beta now. :) Plan to put out the official release tomorrow.
  8. Hi @safeagain, believe it or not, I believe we are missing every single one of those things. They are important though for sure. I don't think they've ever been requested though, believe it or not. Would you be willing to use the Feature Request link in the header to add tickets for those? Thanks and welcome to the forums! :)
  9. Hi @fromlostdays, LaunchBox and Big Box will randomly pick all types of images if there are multiples. However, due to caching, some of them might not update as often as they should. But it's worth a shot; let us know how it goes. :)
  10. Yeah, we should probably wait on deleting duplicate games with different names until after we add the "alternate titles" functionality to the database. Eventually we'll add that option and you'll be able to search on any of the alternate titles (and map a specific title to a specific region).
  11. Thank you @80sarcadeboy. It depends on the platform; unfortunately for some platforms, like MS-DOS especially, there really was no standard physical box size. Old-school PC games come in many different types of boxes and sizes.
  12. Hi @kmccb23, you can also do this for your entire collection, but it will take a while. Just use Ctrl+A to select all games when All is selected in the sidebar.
  13. New beta is out guys, but all that changed is the translations for this beta. Spent the day working on two new tutorial videos for tweaking custom themes with a visual editor. Check them out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYBvzuvtZ3k
  14. New beta is out guys with the updated translations. :)

  16. Hi @Opaklopper, I just realized we never translated all the various welcome text to German, so it's currently all still in English. Here are the pieces that we need to translate if you want to jump on it before 6.7; otherwise we can just leave them in English for now. Thank you once again. :) Welcome to LaunchBox RELEASEVERSION! 17. Thanks @Zombeaver. Fixing it should be pretty easy but by request I'll need to add an option to allow for either situation going forward, so that's what will be tricky. I might tackle this tomorrow in the live development stream. @donarumo, that sounds like an issue with the VLC video playback engine. I didn't know that was still happening though, so thanks. I'll see if I can fix it tomorrow. Do try switching to Windows Media Player though to see if it's fixed for you, per @Rincewind. :)
  18. Thank you all! Getting these in a beta as we speak.
  19. Great to see so many great, on-the-nose answers here guys. Just wanted to chime in and say that I really appreciate everything you guys are all contributing to these forums. :)
  20. I too am interested in this...but I haven't found anything myself yet for it. :)
  21. Hi @slashguns04, I am working on a tutorial video today for editing the themes with Visual Studio. I'll put the animated gifs in there as well. :)
  22. Thanks for the heads-up @master333, but yes, any changes made to the file will disable the license. To clarify a few things, we do not talk to a server in regards to the license (there is no DRM). The license file has a bunch of encrypted stuff in it that has to match up to the clear-text details, which is how the protection mechanism works. :)
  23. Hehehehe. Just fixed that for you GammingOldGuy. :P
  24. Hi @bookw, we do need a way to reverse the sort order in general, so I think that would be the best solution there. I'm not following your second paragraph; sorry for that. Can you re-phrase it for me?
