  1. They're probably not all Vulkan ready. Having custom configs for each platform in this case is an even better idea.
  2. Do you happen to have the controller options in LaunchBox enabled?
  3. Try download .Net Framework from Windows, or make sure you are fully updated from Windows Updates first.
  4. Well in this case, the name of the game is Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. We do have a plan for alternate names and dates for different regions, but the only Alternate I would say would be viable is the Japanese name. I've never actually seen this game referenced as that actually.
  5. You should also be able to emulate the track ball on the joystick too.
  6. Supreme said If you have spare buttons on your cabinet you can use JoyToKey to map a button to the ESCAPE key so everytime you press that button is like if you pressed ESC on your keyboard, this works to exit emulators back to BigBox and to close BigBox itself This only works for some emulators and systems. Controller Automation should work with everything as it doesn't use the conventional close methods. If an emulator doesn't support the Escape button, the Controller Automation method can still work.
  7. A lot of games will use multiple files too. Some games can have up to 10 or 15 zips associated with one game, on top of all the extra crap that the MAME Importer filtered out.
  8. Well they did specify Alpha and early stages, especially for a console that has had a bad history of emulation.
  9. So if you do PBP files, you don't need cue sheets. I only showed the IsoBuster method because a lot of games don't come as cue / iso. You can technically create a cue sheet by hand, and yes it is 1 per disc. The cue sheet points to a specific iso file. Sub and ccd files should actually work as well. I know CCD files work for other cores, and you can edit the info files for RA to add more file extensions. The PBP files will combine multiple discs and you swap discs with a keyboard function in RetroArch. PBP is how I suggest users deal with PS1 games with Mednafen in RetroArch. I don't know if the disc switching function in RetroArch works with discs that are not in PBP files, but a save state, loading the new disc, and a save load will usually work too.
  10. IlhanK said While selecting Vulkan caused Retroarch 1.3.4 to crash , now in 1.3.6 Vulkan works fine. That is really awesome, because of all the reduced latency stuff that comes with it. I will continue using OpenGL though, until Vulkan-compatible shaders are being released. I just like shader eye candy just too much. ;) A quick test of the new N64 paraLLel core revealed some visual glitches here and there, and apparently there seems to be no option to run games with other than the native resolution. Which isn't too surprising considering the pre-alpha status. All in all very exciting, I am really looking forward to the upcoming releases. Did you change the video option to Vulkan?
  11. Yes and no. LaunchBox wants the images in it's own folders for sorting and for a feature called Image Priorities, which lets you select what images to see where. You can import your HS Art, in to the proper folders, and as long as the art is named after the game name or the name of the game in LaunchBox. You can point LaunchBox to different folders when you edit a system under tools, but you have to point each category separately as LaunchBox is expecting art in each category for it's purposes.
  12. If you have roms and emulators outside of LaunchBox and move the LaunchBox folder, you should actually be dine unless I'm missing something.
  13. Yea, 1001 needs to be renamed to the missing file, which is commonly missed.
  14. Huh, yea I totally never thought of it like that. I mean attract mode was a phrase I had learned later, I always heard it called Demo Mode, so maybe I just thought they were more literal definitions? Well neither of us are wrong, we just saw something slightly different. xD
  15. Use Mednafen, and it reads the game just fine. RetroArch it's self can read any file, it's up to the core for what it supports. Mednafen mostly uses cue sheets, but it also uses the PBP file just fine. There are options in the input settings menu to swap between discs with keyboard presses, so you can change that around in there.
  16. Yea, I have all 5 slots working on mine too. Is yours 1.4.2 or 1.4? Try 1.4.2 or a different download.
  17. Bedwyr said Ah, so for Hyperspin it's the "random spinny" part. Never knew there was technical jargon for that. More literal description and less jargon I think. Unless you can create jargon, in which case I guess It kind of did become that. If you look at a lot of SNES / Genesis / PS1 / N64 games, you'll notice they have Demo modes before the game starts, especially games based on Arcade versions. This is also essentially the same thing. It's just the game demoing it's self so that someone comes and plays it. It has feelings too you know. :P
  18. My custom config for Mupen does come from several versions back, so I wonder if they changed something in the default config. Though I should have brought over my RetroArch.cfg from my last install though.
  19. I did have an issue once, where either I accidentally closed the program down or it had crashed, in the middle of installing network driver updates. Restarted, came back up, no internet. xD Thankfully I had another PC in the house, but still, that's scary sometimes.
  20. IOBit's programs, I think, are some of the best at the job they do. I hope this was just a fluke thing.
  21. These should technically also work on PPSSPP, as they work on a real PSP (I have one modded), and as far as I know this was a Sony format that the community uses. Similar to WAD's for the Wii and Virtual Console Injection to insert other games unofficially. PBP is the best thing for PS1 games as it compresses them a bit without needing to use archives which suck, and it combines multiple discs. I do suggest using RetroArch with this and the Mednafen PS1 core. I didn't cover PBP's in the tutorial as I wasn't using them at the time, but I am gonna make a tutorial video at some point about Rom and Disc compression, and what the best way to do this is without using WinRar or 7zip as I think they suck for doing this job. They do do a good job for compression, so just storing these is fine. However, when you want to start playing these games then it starts to become a huge pain. PBP's, CSO's, WBFS, GCM, Trimming, all stuff that helps certain systems save space, but have it still be playable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HoXz8UyCSk
  22. Using my custom config for N64, it doesn't crash when loading. Did you change your menu in RetroArch @Zombeaver? I changed mine, but on the Custom Config it's the default menu and it loads up just fine.
  23. Yep it's crashing for me too, on the 7-15-16 build.
  24. Yea I didn't bother linking it because it is not usable. It "works". Same deal with 3DS and Wii U emulation, though of those 3 Wii U emulation looks most promising already.
  25. It's mostly come from the arcades. When a game wasn't being played it would go in to a Demo Mode to attract customers to the cab.
