What is this thread? I created this just for fun as a way for users to drop their wishes and more crazy requests. This is not a suggestion thread, at least not a serious one. Feel free to drop anything even if it doesn't make much sense. My crazy wishes: Full Linux support Full media integration A separate version with a custom GUI made for handheld and mobile devices. AI implemented in LaunchBox with the potential to take over the world. A deep character and game maps sub-library, where you can add sprites of X game characters and add their Bios, browsing game region maps and such. Your move!

DOS76 said Yeah I don't think I have any CSO files though nor do I know where to obtain any. So unless I can some how convert my ISO's to save space that doesn't help me out I'm sure that it will be better all around though. Check the progress report, there the writer explains the advantages of CSO, how to convert them and provides you with a software, he also developed a software specifically for this.

First of all, welcome to OP! Here is the progress report for everyone's delight. http://pcsx2.net/273-1-4-0-release-end-2015-report.html Brad, I need to confess I laughed a bit... I thought you did the tutorial today with the new version I wasn't trying to troll you or anything. I underestimated the time it takes for the tutorials being made. DOS76, this version of PCSX2 will be the first emulator where I am going to use OpenGL instead of D3D11. And that is because of a feature called Blending Unit Accuracy. Look what it can do: https://imgur.com/RBilU6s Top is without the feature, and bottom is using this feature. Don't know if my CPU is going to be able to run it but I will test it. If you or anyone test it I would love to see some screenshots.

I was interested in seeing GameFAQs implemented, but as you and Sentai said, that is not possible without an official API. Sad, I don't understand why they don't want to implement an API since a lot of popular databases have one. Maybe they don't want to get DDoSd by frontends users hehe. Haven't heard about Arcade-History, I have to confess I am not an Arcade fan but if that fills the gap it would be nice to have it. Your custom prioritizing suggestion is appealing for me, sound very useful.

SentaiBrad said Oh, and the PS2 tutorial goes up in about 40 min. I will watch it, I haven't configured/added my PS2 games to LaunchBox yet and PCSX2-LaunchBox related questions and problems are often posted in the forums. Also PCSX2 devs just released a new stable update, 1.4. It is awesome it implemented a lot of features and fixes.

fromlostdays said Launchbox: "Would you like to use snes9x, a highly recommended emulator for snes. I'll even show you the download link." Me: "Nah, I use Retroarch." Launchbox: "I got you! Here's the link in case you need to download it, also, its pretty much ready to go once you tell me where it is." Me: "Uhhhhh.... okay... that frees up my evening....." Launchbox: "Can I make you some coffee or something?" Now imagine that with HAL 9000's voice, Dave.

Hi man, welcome aboard! I remember when I first discovered LaunchBox at Reddit, I was amazed. I like your Steam account checking suggestion, an automated process to add your new Steam games to LaunchBox, very nice. As for the other DBs I think Jason is very interested in many APIs out there and I think he will add many cool databases in the future, there are suggestions for this if you want to vote it here https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues?status=new&status=open&sort=-created_on If you ever want to show your configuration and library at the collections sub forum, I will be happy to see it. Cheers

Welcome! Be sure to check the LaunchBox youtube tutorial channel, there are a lot of great tips there. You can check the collections sub forum if you want to take a little inspiration to build your library. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSIht6UXIEXIgz4eXAEShxA https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/collections Cheers

I'm proposing a Raffle w/proceeds going to LaunchBox development!
CliveBarker replied to CadetStimpy's topic in Monkeys
Maybe this is a dumb question but, What does this thing does? What is it for? -
Jason Carr said Oh, "personal notes" is a custom field in your collection, Clive. If you remove it from all games it will disappear. Did you send me the updated translation files? Thanks! hahahaha oops, I forgot I made that custom field sorry, I was using the English version of LaunchBox when I made that custom field. And I will send you the corrected translations files right now,I was just waiting for confirmation about "Personal Notes"...
-
Hi Jason Here they are, the places where Personal Notes appear: http://i.imgur.com/bNM5wXs.png http://i.imgur.com/isGkGIs.png http://i.imgur.com/jHuy0V6.png Any idea where can these be? The "Please wait while parsing EmuMovies" was an omission from my part, it is corrected now.
-
Hi Jason. It seems that "Personal Notes" is not translated in any place where its located. I don't remember seeing that string at the resources files. Also "Please wait while parsing EmuMovies" when importing games, is not translated as well. Do you have any idea where these 2 strings can be found at the resource files?
-
@Jason Carr I have sent you the resources to your Gmail. Kinda offtopic but the Spain government has blocked the access for their citizens to the largest Spanish emulation site. Its a shame since I use that site to post about LaunchBox updates and translations. Ignorant Politicians always pushing dumb laws...

Jason Carr said EmuMovies support for downloading images, manuals, music, and videos MAME ROM filtering on imports to skip clones, prefer certain regions, and/or skip hacks, prototypes, or bootleg games Various stability improvements Soporte para descargar imágenes, manuales, música y videos de EmuMovies Filtrado de ROMs de MAME durante las importaciones para evitar clones, elegir ciertas regiones, y/o evitar hacks, prototipos o ediciones no autorizadas de juegos Muchas mejoras en la estabilidad I am going to correct some older mistakes I made in the Spanish translation that I have noticed recently but I don't think it's going to take much time. Good night Jason!

Non-installed Steam/GOG Galaxy/Origin games import feature
CliveBarker replied to CliveBarker's topic in Features

Non-installed Steam/GOG Galaxy/Origin games import feature
CliveBarker replied to CliveBarker's topic in Features
This is awesome man, I will use it to import my GOG, Origin and Uplay games. If I found any issue I will report it here. Thank you very much. -
fzero said So selling a couple old things I can push to this PC http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/Primal-GS2-196p2453.htm That looks powerful enough for most my Steam games and the emus I want to play. But is that Intel G4400 decent or would it be worth the extra £50 or so for the i3 chip upgrade? Fixed my steam url, I forgot about that. Do you feel confident enough to purchase parts individually instead of a pre-built? If so I recommend you the pentium g3258. That processor is cheap as hell and if you overclock it it turns into a beast, primarly for emulation. It is dual core only so if you ever want to play a PC title that requires a 4 core as a minimum you will need to use some modified exes, at least that was the case for Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition. Here is the link for the processor if you want to check it out. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117374 Edit: Here is a build that's almost double as powerful for the same price (£535.00=$793 according to Google), The problem is, this build doesn't offer you Windows included... but check it out! https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/xfmPxr/i5-4460-gtx-960-gaming-pc You can replace the 960 for an AMD 380 (more powerful and costs less) but you will need to change the power supply. The CX model is not reliable when pushed to its limit.

garbanzo said OK, how about this - instead of multiple databases, maybe you can implement nested filters. Replace the drop-down filter menu in the left bar with several layers of nested filters (think iTunes) and allow users to switch the source of each filter on the fly. That would eliminate the current restriction of one level of filtering + visual-only grouping + basic search. With nested filters, you could choose Console Games / Nintendo / Nintendo Entertainment System / Prototypes, or you could go in a completely different direction and choose PC Games / DOS / Sierra / Graphic Adventure to get where you want to be. So it's official, I would rather have nested filters than multiple databases! Nested Filters sound awesome man, right now I am struggling to organize my SNES collection at LaunchBox and nested filters fits my needs. If you ever open a request proposing this I will vote for it.

SentaiBrad said My back is already not fantastic. :P The chair I got is awesome though, we spent a decent amount on it recently. Do whatever you can to prevent the issues to become chronic. And congrats on your chair, I really think its the most important "peripheral?". Sorry to the OP for going offtopic!

DOS76 said I've been reading about Cemu too and have to admit its pretty exciting I can't wait until it is ready to go. I have to admit that I don't have any idea about the Wii U game catalog. Are there any good games there?
-
SentaiBrad said I know about Citra and the 360 Emulator but I was under the impression they were were worse off than the PS3 one. At least I know the 3DS one is worth absolutely nothing right now. I knew Wii U was being worked on very fast paced, I just haven't been keeping up with it. Writing tutorials for Jason, trying to do some Freelance editing and keep up with my YouTube channel, its actually a wonder I can be in the forums as much as I am. Probably cause I end up never leaving my computer as a result... X_X You better get a good ergonomic chair man, or your back will be destroyed...

Animated Box Art (feature request)
CliveBarker replied to HawKDesigns's topic in Collections and Builds
Very interesting request, I will post here your BitBucket issue link (I assume its yours) https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/307/love-launchbox-but-i-have-a-feature For people interested to vote for it! -
DOS76 said 3DS has Citra which is almost the same as having no emulator but it is under development and their page says it can run Ocarina of Time so who knows what the future will bring http://citra-emu.org/. EDIT I see Clive beat me to this. We were on the same page man!

SentaiBrad said Actually I dislike AMD based computers but this is a personal thing, so if you were to ask me if you should get that machine... I would honestly say no. That is just my opinion though. My wife has an AMD GPU and it gives us nothing but trouble (we didn't build it, it was given to us.) However, this is a personal thing. I am trying to not shoot down everything you or anyone else shows me, I will just be honest to what I think. I am trying to give you an unbiased recommendation, so on the technical merits that machine is more than capable to run modern PC Games, LaunchBox, Big Box and all available emulators which currently goes up to Nintendo Wii, PS2, Gamecube and DS. (OG Xbox Emulators exist, but do not function. 360 Emulators do not exist, 3DS emulators do not exist and a PS3 emulator is so deep in to Alpha it plays 1 games menu.) Just a heads up! Xenia, a 360 emulator and Citra, a 3DS emulator are actually a thing and both are even in a more advanced state than RPCS3! Also there is a WiiU emulator called Cemu and man, that thing is crazy, they are progressing faster than any other emulator I have seen and that its due to AMD. AMD disclosed the WiiU's GPU documentation so the CEMU developer is able to do this. (Some people speculate he also has access to "leaked" WiiU documentation). 2015 was exciting for emulation and 2016 will be better, probably. Here are the websites for each emulator if you want to check them: http://xenia.jp/ http://citra-emu.org/ http://cemu.info/ They are all malware free so far and they are daily discussed at https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/new/

DOS76 said Its because I disabled Windows Media Player isn't it. Off topic, but I once disabled WMP (because its awful and I use Foobar) and then I installed some EA games, like FIFA, they all were unable to even start because the intros required WMP to be enabled, its awful when they force you to use that crap.
