  1. At the moment I don't think that you can. The solution would probably be to have the text repeatedly autoscroll
  2. Open Control Panel in the search bar type troubleshooting click on troubleshooting on the left side there will be some clickable options click view all find Windows Update and run the troubleshooter. If that doesn't fix your issue try opening a cmd prompt with admin privileges and type sfc /scannow and hit ente
  3. Running nice in my basement black bars are gone now in my videos.
  4. Yeah if that proved to be the case after testing its performance you could always move LaunchBox to the SSD but keep your emulators or games on your external now this would depend on what the OP is trying to emulate of course I know that on some of my systems I stream the games from network storage and they handle everything up to N64 PS1 without issue (These PC are usually more modestly specced so I don't attempt anything higher end to know whether my network would handle it or not) I suspect due to the PC's specs it probably isn't pushing PCSX2 or Dolphin.
  5. Republican based add so don't attempt to find sense in it, it was made for people who already hate Obama and anything different from them so questioning the validity of it is out of the question for them. Many Americans only like freedom and equality until it makes them uncomfortable then its time for the Frankensteinesque mob scene to destroy the monsters before they totally eradicate the moral fiber of our country. I usually avoid political posts because I'm sure someone will find offense but this is just ridiculous fear mongering which is the number 1 play in the extremely tiresome Republican playbook.
  6. No if you have the OS on an SSD it will be fine accessing LB from a external USB drive (If the drive is USB 3.0 you will get better performance than USB 2 but I think it would still be fine).
  7. I prefer my system on my SSD and LaunchBox on a separate data drive but that will mean you need to reinstall Windows or clone your drive which can be easy or difficult depending on the size of your drives (if your SSD is larger than your original drive that is the easiest) or what software you use to accomplish this.
  8. 174 should be fine. Click on Options and choose directories. Then click browse and point it to the folder that has your ROMs in it. After you choose your ROMs folder click ok and then try starting a game from in the games list. Then I would suggest adding MAMEUIFX as your emulator in LB you need to use the -skip_gameinfo -nowindow (or just -now works now too) command for the emulator.
  9. With either of the UI versions of MAME you can start the UI and then change the settings and set your own directory paths set your video settings its just so much easier. Once you open it will look for all of your games and show you what you have in a list. If you do do get one of the UI versions you will have to set the directory to your ROM folder as it will be set by default to look in the ROMs folder that is located in the emulators folder.
  10. Yeah MAMEUI and MAMEUIFX should both have a 173 version (Its basically MAME but with a User Interface built in and not all command line like the main version). MAME is updated almost monthly so when there is a new version of MAME there is also a new ROM set having the latest ROM set only provides maximum compatibility but if you had the MAME 173 emulator but the MAME 170 ROM set a large majority of your games would still work fine.
  11. No for MAME games I think it will be easier to get the games running in MAMEUI or MAMEUIFX
  12. I'm on 10 but using VLC I'll switch it up and see if it changes.
  13. LaunchBox is not a virus!
  14. Yeah and WMP doesn't have a way to stretch it either unlike VLC, Plex Home Theatre and the new TV and Movies app for Windows 10. I don't recall definitely but I believe that you can also set Kodi to do this.
  15. It is both video playback methods I'm using VLC and OP was using WMP
  16. If you have MAME configed to see your ROMs where you have them then I don't have a clue. Sorry I couldn't help, hopefully someone else can assist you.
  17. Yeah I see that but I don't know how your directory structure is or which actual MAME emulator you are using. You say that your ROMs are not in the MAME ROMs folder so I don't know how you have it configured to see the folder you have them in.
  18. Just slightly. Which view are you using I can check it with that view and see. Edit: I found that view and when using it I do have black bars
  19. No black bars for me gentlemen. I'm using VLC
  20. I'm slightly confused now you are showing a error message about installing LB yet in another image it shows the form for the emulator so it is installed but it won't let you try to reinstall it?
  21. Do you have the MAME games working outside of LaunchBox? If not its hard to say that your problem is with LB. When you downloaded the 173 split set did you copy the ROMs out of it and move them to MAME's ROM folder or at least change your directory either in the UI settings if you are using a version with a UI or in the .ini file. Are all of your arcade ROM still compressed? In LaunchBox if you go to tools, manage emulators then select MAME and edit is the Extract ROM Archive before running checkbox checked this box will completely break any MAME game from working as it needs to use the compressed ROMs. Basically though if you don't have an emulator working outside of LaunchBox then you can't blame LB as the problem. If you do have MAME working outside of LB then I don't know what your issue might be try looking at a few of the things I suggested.
  22. DOS76

    bios

Yeah if he has the 173 split set then the bios files should be included. I've never needed to find MAME bios files they have always been in my sets (I assume because when I started using MAME I didn't even know about bios files for arcade boards).
  23. Its not officially a platform in the DB (or at least it didn't used to be I apologize if I'm incorrect).
  24. Do you have the PS1 bios files I believe that you need 3 different files.
