Glad to hear it since it's almost done at this point and that's what I'm using haha

Do you think "NGPC" will work for the logo? Neo Geo Pocket Color is kindof long honestly. The font would have to be pretty small. I'm not sure if NGPC is a common acronym for it.
-
I could probably use the Mega Man one for a clear logo. The Dark Arms one probably wouldn't work for either though.
-
What box art would that be exactly? Because Neo Geo Pocket Color is what I'm planning on working on next and I'm not finding much of anything. I see a lot of cutesy chibi stuff I need something high quality that has a good amount of wide/horizontal content for the clear logo and square-ish content for the banner.

Okay @dmjohn0x here are a couple you might enjoy:

Exactly!

Thanks! Looking at it on a smaller scale here as a preview it looks like the console is a little bit off-center (to the right) so I'm gonna fix that real quick...

I've always loved the cover for Karateka. It's like a movie poster for an awesome 80's martial arts flick. Karateka itself completely blew me away as a kid - the animations were amazing for the time. It made use of rotoscoping which was basically unheard of in video games at that point. Jordan Mechner, the developer, went on to apply the same technique to even greater effect in his next game - Prince of Persia.

I don't think it's available yet. The dev version download page is showing 2.9.3 currently. https://fs-uae.net/download-devel#windows

That'd be totally sweet dude! Make sure you take some photos if you do. I've said my piece on the matter more than once around here (kindof preaching to the choir around these parts I suppose) but people really need to stop treating emulation like it's some kind of awful, terrible, no-good, irredeemable sin. It isn't. It's the preservation of the history of an important art medium; and the only reliable means of doing it at that. People need to grow up.

Here's one for Atari 7800 - Galaga aka "The Way Better Version of Space Invaders". Space bugs. Gotta love 'em. I knew I liked Lexx for a reason. Lisa Hynes and Xenia Seeberg didn't hurt. ...what were we talking about again? Oh, Galaga! Now Galaga vs Galaxian... that's a bit tougher... Hmm... Normal: Scanlines:

Hmm. I'll have to give that some thought. There are some Synthwave artists that incorporate some metal elements like that but it's somewhat rare. I know it's out there because I've heard it but I'm drawing a blank on specific artists. Even Dance With The Dead doesn't do it typically. I was mostly just going with the 80's horror flick vibe regarding Hollywood Burns. Carpenter Brut and Perturbator are great for that too.
-
Yep! Dance With The Dead are pretty great. You might want to check out Hollywood Burns if you like them.

He's talking about the new Leaderboard section. I actually just noticed it today too haha. It must be pretty new. http://forums.launchbox-app.com/leaderboard/

I'm trying various WinActivate commands in the AHK emulator settings field but nothing seems to be working. Probably, in no small part, because I really don't know what I'm doing with it It's not giving me an error but it doesn't seem to be doing anything either.

More testing for verification purposes: PCSX2: working 4DO: working PPSSPP: working Atari 800: working MESS: working Steem: working Demul: exhibiting the same behavior as CCS64
-
Sure thing. If there's anything you need me to do or test, or anything you need to know about the settings I'm using, just let me know! It's just odd. I've used CCS64 with Big Box for a while now and never had this problem. *shrug*
-
Nope. Thus far CCS64 seems to be the only emulator exhibiting the issue for me. RA, FS-UAE, and DeSmuME all seem to be fine. CCS64 starts in a window and then maximizes - I thought that might be causing some issue but DeSmuME does the same thing and it seems to be okay.
-
It's not Steam that has focus though - it's Big Box. The controls are still tied to it after launching the emulator. Sometimes with background music stopping, sometimes not. It's like it's not recognizing that an emulator has launched/is running for some reason.
-
I normally do have Steam running, yes. I just tested though and it's still happening when Steam is completely closed.
-
Something seems to be stealing focus from some emulators when launched via Big Box. CCS64 is an example. I can start a game, and the emulator/game will fill the screen but the controls are still tied to Big Box. If I hit a button I can hear the selection sound in Big Box and it starts another instance of the emulator. I'm just on 7.5 stable. I'm about to try the beta though. EDIT: It's still in beta 7.6-1 EDIT 2: I thought that re-enabling the task bar might have fixed it because it didn't happen on the first try afterwards. But the behavior seems to be inconsistent: 1st try - working correctly - background music stops, controller works normally in-game, background music resumes after exiting the emulator 2nd try - working correctly - background music stops, controller works normally in-game, background music resumes after exiting the emulator 3rd try - working correctly - background music stops, controller works normally in-game, background music resumes after exiting the emulator 4th try - not working correctly - background music stops, controller is still tied to Big Box, background music resumes after exiting the emulator 5th try - not working correctly - background music stops, controller is still tied to Big Box, background music resumes after exiting the emulator 6th try - not working correctly - background music continues after launching the emulator, controller is still tied to Big Box Very strange... EDIT 3: It's a complete crapshoot between all three scenarios, more frequently not working than working.
