Try this: --subsystem 64DD or --subsystem 64dd I tried yesterday for a little bit to get 64DD games working with the new Mupen core but had no success and gave up cause I didn't really care all that much.

HLSL doesn't work when open mame games using launchbox
Lordmonkus replied to LEOtheLion's topic in Troubleshooting
Is your mame.ini file located in the main Mame folder where the exe is located or is it in the \ini sub folder ? If it is in the \ini folder move it to the main folder. -
I don't think you understand what Retroarch is, Retroarch is a frontend and it uses the libretro cores which are emulators. Retroarch itself just acts as the universal GUI for the cores / emulators and it also handles all the input and sound. In this instance core and emulator are the exact same thing. RomCenter is a rom manager: https://www.romcenter.com/about-romcenter/

You will have to get the CHD and either place that in the same folder as your Mame roms or you can put CHD files in another folder and add that folder path to Mame so it knows to look there for it. The CHD won't need to be added, Mame just needs to load the normal rom and know where the CHD file can be located and it will work. Yes, this will work but if you got a proper full set there will be no games missing other than the CHD files. The rom set and CHDs are typically kept as separate downloads because the CHD set is so large and affects only small selection of games.

My 2 Cents: LB.Next wastes too much "real-estate"
Lordmonkus replied to ChillPenguin's topic in Features
You can adjust it but it requires the editing of the LBTheme xmal files. We even have some custom themes available for download https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/category/30-launchbox-custom-themes/ -
This is not a 100% hard rule but it is highly recommended to guarantee 100% rom compatibility. While individual games may work the further apart you get in terms of emulator version and the rom set your rom is from you will find more and more games that do not work. This is due to emulation improvements or rom dump improvements which happen over time. Sure you could use a mismatched rom set and Mame version and you may find that 90% of the games do work but you will find some that do not work. Generally speaking being a couple of versions out of sync is perfectly fine. But once in a while there is a big change that will affect quite a lot of games like a couple of years ago when the Capcom "suicide battery" was decrypted and there was a new version of Mame which required all the Capcom CPS games to be updated in order to work.

CHDs are typically a separate download, it's quite large and only a select few games require them.
-
Sorrry, yeah you will need to download the CHDs separately, I forgot about that. Split and Merged sets will be approximately 60 gigs in size + CHDs and there should be a link to download using torrent on their site. Sorry I cannot provide you with direct links here, it's against the rules of the forums.

You can always get the latest full Mame set from Pleasuredome but it is a site you have to sign up for, do not hit and run on the torrent or they will shitlist you. The other option is the interent archive, they have different rom set versions available though usually not quite the latest. If you get a proper full set there is nothing you will need to download separately to add.

Yeah AMD has made huge strides on the CPU side lately, they are great, I have a 2700X and love it but they are still way behind on the GPU side of things. Their GPUs are perfectly adequate for low to mid range gaming PCs but lacking in the higher end and emulation because of the bad OpenGL drivers. Bad OpenGL drivers isn't really too much of an issue when it comes to modern PC gaming since the vast majority of games use DirectX or even Vulkan nowadays but a lot of emulators do use OpenGL for legacy hardware and cross platform compatibility.
-
Well i'm not saying that you would have issues with a Radeon GPU based system, I used one for a while without issues but it is something to keep in mind with a new system and it can potentially be an issue.
-
I'm always very hesitant to recommend anything with a Radeon graphics card for emulation because of their crap OpenGL drivers and may cause issues.
-
lol, that should be the new name of the core

Newer AMD CPUs are fantastic.

i have used CDMage to combine in the past, I did it for the Unworked Designs Sega CD games, it seemed to be hit and miss with success rates though.
-
Normally cue + bin (even multiple bins) work fine, it's ones that have mp3 or wave files that have issues.
-
I use Windows 10 with Defender but not Chrome and never had this issue. Try changing browsers to either Vivaldi (my personal favourite) or Brave which is also very nice and both are based off Chromium so all the extensions work or even Firefox.
-
Yeah i'm not sure how your roms could have gotten deleted then. That was the only thing I could think of.
-
You didn't enable "Allow deleting ROMs when deleting games" in LB and then remove from games in Launchbox by any chance ? This setting is off by default.
-
But no trial for the paid part of it.
-
Probably for the same reasons there isn't one for the PC, it would go against the "No DRM" rule, there is no way to implement a trial without some sort of DRM scheme. Also Jason is extremely good about giving refunds to people if they are unhappy with their purchase.

Yes and good quality disk images.

Mame emulates it.
