Now that I'm using RetroArch for all my MAME-ing, I'm not quite sure how to set up auto-mapping for my U360 joysticks. I used to use something like this Rocketlauncher add-on with standalone MAME. Is it possible to use this or something like it as a "app" in LaunchBox? Can someone walk me through the steps for something like this? I would really like to be done with RocketLauncher. It would be great if Launchbox could integrate this ahk script for U360 support, but I'm ok with using a third party solution if that's the only way possible... just need some help with the specifics. Thanks for any help you can offer. I appreciate it.

Not sure... mine doesn't look pixelated. Maybe a low res rip? Remember, these are rips of laserdisc, from the era of VHS tapes, so they aren't going to look like bluray movies. There are HD rips of DL and Space Ace out there if you want to search them up.

The command for scanlines, if I remember correctly, is just -scanlines... at least that is what it is in Hypseus now. I have to warn you, though, the scanlines look horrible. Nothing like we are used to in the various shaders we use now.

Thanks for this fix... it would totally freeze my system up.

I'm looking at these now. These are really high quality. I'm not using the 16:9 style any more, but these look very good. If you ever have any high quality resources (bezels, instruction cards, etc) like these that you want to share for people to use as a starting point, that would be welcome too. This one for Alien Syndrome looks like one I did years ago that ended up in Metalzoic's packs. Anyway, nice job on these. 🙂

If you are sorting/arranging by "Release Date by Year", is there a way to sub-sort by "Title"? As it is, the games are scattered within their release year making it harder to find what you are looking for.

I'm all for, and have requested a few times a more robust MAME importing, categories, filtering, etc... but have been told that arcade is not a priority for LB, unfortunately... so, hopefully more people will talk about and request this type of stuff so that it gets some love.

There used to be a "all killer no filler" playlist you could import with a LB addon called LightSpeed that would do exactly what you are looking for... it was abandoned after compatibility with LB broke, but maybe somebody could salvage some of that with an old version of Lightspeed? Just thinking "out loud".

Turn off any scanlines you might be running and bump up the brightness and contrast just a couple notches in the MAME settings until the lines look nice and solid.

Thanks. I worked through most of it last night. I realized the playlists were using the name MAME instead of arcade, which is one I had used a long time ago. Not sure why that was still in there, but obviously that was causing the empty playlists. I ended up deleting all the extra ones manually and then manually changing the platform names in the autopopulate rules. It took a while but I'm back on track and organized now.

I deleted my arcade platform and re-ran the MAME importer, but my playlists are all still empty when it finished, even though I asked it to populate the playlists during the import wizard. Any help on this is appreciated. *edit* Along the same lines... if I want to delete playlists (like all the empty ones), the only way I can see to do it is do them one at a time, and there are many... so, I tried deleting the playlist folder in the LB directories and LB is re-creating them each time I close it. How can I permanently delete these and try to start fresh?

I just noticed my Arcade playlists from the MAME importer are all empty. Is there a way to re-populate these without running the entire importer again?

Oh, ok... I'm using Mupen64. Thanks for the answer.
-
Does Simple 64 have a RA core?
-
Ok, thanks for the answer. In the last page of the MAME importer, it lists all the roms. On the normal importer, it doesn't list the ones it isn't going to import... so I was afraid of messing up my arcade platform.
-
The regular import dialog has that option... I'm not seeing it on the full MAME set importer.
-
Will the MAME rom set importer avoid importing duplicates when a set update is released? I want to only get the new and changed roms, but the last step of the import lists all the roms in the set, making me think it's going to allow duplicates.
-
Thanks... I'll try it out. We need a drop down box or something on that screen to change a per-game core. *edit* Actually, it looks like your command line worked with just the core part (-L D:\Arcade\Emulators\Retroarch\cores\snes9x_libretro.dll)
-
How do you assign an emulator (specifically RA core) that is not the default for that platform? In other words, I want to place a game/games in my arcade platform, but have it run in Dolphin (core), for example, instead of MAME (RA MAME is the default). I keep running into LB wanting to change the default for the whole platform instead of just assigning it to the single game. Thanks for the help.

The message at the MAMEui site says it is no longer maintained as of .248. Has anyone migrated to a version of MAME with UI that they can recommend as a good replacement? Thanks for the help.

It's a pretty useful field for sorting when it comes to arcade though. Especially if you are working on bezels, etc... It used to be available through the long defunct Lightspeed mod, which of course no longer works. I can understand if you don't want to add it, but it would be useful in LB as a organizational tool. It's unlikely people will upvote organizational features over things like 3D box images, etc...

The raster/vector info is listed directly in MAME. If you open MAMEui64, look at the "type" column. Is there any way to use this info to update LB with these categories?
-
Is it possible to sort arcade by raster and vector? I couldn't find a way to do this through the filters.
