For me it was not just enough to exclude Retroarch and Launchbox from Avast. It seems that Avast now has a some sort of overhauled and improved Game detection mode or whatever we want to call it. Which automatically detects Retroarch and Launchbox as Gaming Apps. Which ironically screws things up however. I played around with Avast's Gaming Mode settings and the settings according to the attached screenshot did the trick at least for me. Hope it helps, cheers.

Don't worry, that game is just a bit bitchy. Just paste the string stdrt.exe as the target application. Without any path. Then it should work.

I answered a similar question once, maybe this might work for you: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/34189-setup-joytokey-with-specific-windows-games/?do=findComment&comment=209962

It's the Process, Close AHK command that is causing the issue. http://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/35041-exiting-demul-closes-bigbox/

Yeah. Does Big Box crash when you have the script removed? I think we stumbled upon a bug...
-
I have the exact same problem here. For a small number of emulators like (demul, expse, and mame) I am using a small custom script similar to this for quitting: $Esc:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} } The script works within Launchbox. Not so much with Big Box: It throws me back to Desktop with the Big Box task still running but not re-opening.

Yeah, if you are one of those guys who like to play co-op with friends, then you'll be facing some ridiculous issues others never need to worry about. I was able to solve some issues by opting for SDL-Input wherever possible. See this post for further info. Further, I've stumbled on a kind-of workaround by the means a of Microsoft Tool named devcon.exe. With devcon.exe you can simply disable the controllers you don't need for a particular game, and re-enable your controllers after you are done playing. Not a really clean solution, but definitively helpfull for some cases. Here is a link with further description and download if you are interested. I was unware of that "devreorder" tool. Sound worth checking out. Please let us know how it is working out.

Create a profile for a game you want JoyToKey to use with. Create an additional profile that is blank, empty. Go to Settings -> Associate Profiles with applications. Click Add, enter Application Name, set the path to the games executable and choose the profile you just created, then click OK. Under Default behaviour, select Specify a default profile and choose the blank profile you created, click OK. And there you go.

I'm afraid I am not aware of any method to bulk edit multiple games.

NoMousy View File Some emulators fail to hide the mouse cursor in fullscreen mode. This little tool rectifies that issue. Syntax: nomousy /hide Simply run nomousy.exe without parameters to bring back the cursor. Submitter IlhanK Submitted 10/15/16 Category Third-party Apps and Plugins

SentaiBrad said Did you change the video option to Vulkan? While selecting Vulkan caused Retroarch 1.3.4 to crash , now in 1.3.6 Vulkan works fine. That is really awesome, because of all the reduced latency stuff that comes with it. I will continue using OpenGL though, until Vulkan-compatible shaders are being released. I just like shader eye candy just too much. ;) A quick test of the new N64 paraLLel core revealed some visual glitches here and there, and apparently there seems to be no option to run games with other than the native resolution. Which isn't too surprising considering the pre-alpha status. All in all very exciting, I am really looking forward to the upcoming releases.

Are you asking how to autoload a specific input profile per game? If so, you might want to check out this link: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-howto-using-gameini-settings-per-game

Thank you very much, I'll check it out!

That's an amazing setup @Mute64! How do you get PDF files (game manuals) to open in fullscreen through BigBox?

I've used Cyberlink PowerDirector. There's a free trial version available on their website if you are interested. But honestly, that software isn't particularly well suited for such kind of editing. Other more powerful software may be more expensive though. Its constant crashing drove me nuts. Although right now I am not sure if PowerDirectors was at fault in the first place. Since yesterday my PC is being plagued by odd bluescreens and freezes. :(

Hi there, This emulator trailer inspired me to create a video specifically for the SNES. Feel free to use it for your BigBox if you like. Don't think I'll be making another one though. My skills and knowledge regarding video editing is very limited, and to make things worse, my stupid Video Editing Software kept crashing on me constantly which made me mad. Maybe someone else with more patience and experience could cover other systems, maybe. ;) Anyway, here it is: DropBox Download

If you follow the advice regarding Retroarch and SDL, you'll find that Dolphin and Retroarch will co-exist peacefully from now on. :-) It allows you to play Retroarch stuff with your Xbox controllers "maintenance-free" and reserve your Wiimotes for Dolphin exclusively, switching modes manually or even unplugging the Dolphin Bar won't be necessary then. If everything is set up correctly, you can safely switch to mode 3 to utilize your Wiimotes as additional controllers for Retroarch multiplayer games. It won't break anything in Retroarch, however don't forget to switch back to mode 4 when you're done with it and you like to play Dolphin stuff again.

Jason Carr said Alright, new beta is out guys. You can now download platform videos from EmuMovies with either the import processes or the metadata update wizard. If all you want to do is download the platform videos, you can select all your games, run the download images and metadata wizard, and just uncheck everything except for the Video_System_Intro_MP4 box for EmuMovies. Do I need a premium EmuMovies subscription for this to work?

Ok, I've now created an account over there at libretro. As a newcomer I've gotta say, both Launchbox and Retroarch are wonderful pieces of software. :) I still have some minor Retroarch related issues and I'll certainly bother some people over at their forum at some point. The Dolphin Bar thing is not really an issue since it's not a bug per-se. On the contrary, that little piece of hardware actually solved all my Dolphin related input headaches, so in my book it's a must-buy for anyone planing to seriously do dolphin stuff. It would be nice if the MayFlash windows driver had more features and options of course, like automaticly switching modes through profiles. Right now, you have to manually push buttons to switch modes. What you are getting with the Dolphin Bar is already solid though and definitelly worth the money. The real issue is actually the way Microsoft has implemented joystick support in their Windows OS. Until Microsoft provides a fix, plugging / unplugging multiple controllers from different vendors will always carry the risk of breaking your joystick mappings. And bringing a dolphin bar into the mix in addition to xbox controllers definitelly puts you into that category. Fortunately, a couple of emulators support SDL, which seems to has its own logic of organizing controllers, and as a side-effect, at least I have less input related complaints.

I am not at home atm, so I cannot check. But I believe you have to set your Dolphin Bar back to mode 4 manually.
