  1. I don't believe there is a way to ID the roms you have. So your best bet would be a new set. Pleasuredome will be able to assist you there, you will need to register for free and carefully read there rules as they are ratio based. They use torrents and if you don't share back they will ban you in a heartbeat, just read the instructions carefully and you will be fine. Also get either the "split", or "non-merged" set. The merged set will not import to Launchbox correctly due to the way it is structured.

    bigbox theme HELP!

Go to your Launchbox/Data folder and delete the BigBoxsettings.xml while Bigbox and Launchbox are closed, that will revert Bigbox to default settings and a new settings.xml will be created when you launch Bigbox.
  3. Hi and welcome. If the roms were originally for the pi they are probably a really old version, as that is what the pi has to use due to its low horsepower. Your best bet would be to get the version of MAME that matches the version of the roms you have. MAME is very picky with this as the game dumps change all the time as better dumps are made or the emulation is improved and if you don't update them they will stop working in the newer versions of MAME. Or the other option is to download the latest set and version of mame, its currently 0.194, but is updated every month.
  4. Version 1.7.1 released yesterday and that lets you choose from d3d9, d3d11, d3d12 now, there is no d3d in the newer versions so you will need to change that again if/when you update Retroarch.
  5. Or you can use this program, which is how I update personally.
  6. Correct, if you install the new version to a different location just go to tools/manage emulators and point it to the .exe in the new folder. You will of course have to copy any folders you want to the new install otherwise it will be a fresh install with none of your settings. Alternatively download just the executables from the buildbot here, just pick 32 or 64 bit depending on your system, you want the small _retroarch.7z its around 10-11mb depending on 32 or 64 bit, just copy the 2 .exe to your current Retroarch folder and overwrite the existing .exe.
  7. Yeah that is not a error I have seen before, so i'm not sure as to what is causing it. I have passed it onto Jason so hopefully he can work it out for you.
  8. You would create a portable kodi in Launchbox/Emulators and import all your movies and tv shows in KODI as normal. Then in launchbox go to tools/import and choose the option for importing from KODI.
  9. Hang on a minute, you are trying to import kodi into Launchbox? That is a different addon, the one I linked above is simply for launching Bigbox from Kodi nothing more. I think you are talking about this addon instead. If that is the case, that is looking for a portable version of KODI located in Launchbox/Emulators folder, if your KODI is not portable and in that folder it wont work.
  10. You don't add the .exe just the launchbox folder and it finds the .exe by itself. Here is a quote from the addon author in the support thread for this addon. "In 1.5.0 and above, you just need to set your LaunchBox base directory (ie, A:\Launchbox\), it will not show the BigBox.exe as Kodi is selecting a folder now not a exe. This was noted in the release notes due to Kodi release rules (no binaries rule) and helped by LaunchBox's GPL conformance requirement by including autohotkey.exe instead of direct compiling AHK in LaunchBox itself. It is also stated in the configuration instructions on the download page. So I am hoping that will fix your issue if not please submit the logs and I will look into it. Thanks, " I just tested myself and it works fine.
  11. lol yeah if its grabbing images and videos it will take some time. "Best" emulators or retroarch cores are subjective, but I always strive for the most accurate ones I can get. Except when using other hardware like my 8inch windows tablet or a raspberry pi, in which case I use whatever runs the best, but those are very different things speed and accuracy, of course the ideal is to have both, and with those specs you can, so why not?
  12. Yep, better than what I have, try the higan core then, just go to that associated platform tab and delete snes9x and replace it with higan_sfc to switch to that core, after downloading it of course.
  13. Yeah people want the pause screen but without all the other intricacy's of RocketLauncher.
  14. The correct bios is on the same site you got the games from, its called Sega CD Model 1 (USA) (v1.10)
  15. Launchbox supports everything, it doesn't care what the emulator or retroarch core it is, it just loads what you tell it to. The most accurate so therefore best in my eyes snes cores are the bsnes and higan cores, but they need a good newish cpu, around about a i5 at 3.2ghz or so, snes9x is fine and will run on lower powered hardware, but is less accurate. I personally use higan which is the most accurate and needs the most horsepower, I have a i5 3570k overclocked to 4.2ghz and it works well.
  16. Those are just defaults and can be changed to anything you like, what is there is not always the best choice, I don't use snes9x as there are better snes cores, but they need more powerful hardware. As for snes9x_next its a old core that was discontinued, so you needed to edit it to the actual core you wanted to use.
  17. Load the core, go to information/core information and scroll down, does it say present for the bios?
  18. Launchbox probably says "snes9x_next" that is a different core which no longer excists. Remove the "_next" so it just says "snes9x" and it should work.
  19. Your roms are probably fine, mine worked, you have something else wrong, likely the bios.
  20. Hi and welcome to the community. Did you specify the core in the Associated Platforms tab of the manage emulator screen?
  21. Eternal Champions from paradise works fine for me in both Genesis GX and Picodrive
