  1. I understand your point and I am sure the devs do as well. However, somewhere something has to give and in my experience working with the team they are striving to make LB as beginner/user friendly as possible while still allowing LB to be flexible for the power user. The empty folders take up no real space, so for the sake of making it easy on new users and entry level users it make sense to have the folders created and ready to use. For the time being, while this new feature is being developed and evolves, the folders are not an option that can be turned off unless you turn off auto imports. Please continue to provide sound, constructive feedback. Just remember not all of our users have the depth and breadth of knowledge in emulation.
  2. No. Images need to match the name of the playlist. This falls in line with unique folder names as well.
  3. It is likely to ensure the folders are the more common names and to ensure that if the user just drops the roms in the correct folder names the feature will work off the bat without the need for the users to set anything up as in alter folder name or edit default folder path.
  4. Yes, same place you go to turn it on.
  5. No, you cannot force LB to use Screenscrapers xaml file. Screenscraper files have been known to cause issues with LB, but you can try to use this tool made by one of our devs
  6. Likely not. It is part of the new rom scanning feature. I deleted your other post as it did not need to be in 2 places. To prevent it you would need to turn off the new autoscan feature.
  7. No. You have to edit each one by one and can only be set when a platform is added.
  8. In LB right click on a platform name and edit it. In the "Folders" tab the game rom path is the first item. Change the location there.
  9. The OP error was related to a known shared/pirated license. We removed the error that was posted. Your error is not that. What theme are you using? I know you stated you have no custom themes, but that error reads like one related to either a theme that is not the BigBox Default.
  10. How did you do the update? The update itself would not mess with any roms or platform data.
  11. In your updates setting in LB Tools turn off updates.
  12. Glad you are sorted. No worries. We are here to help.
  13. That is how the feature will work. LB has no way of knowing you previously deleted it and do not want it in your library. Since you did not manually remove the file from the rom folder or you did not turn on the option to allow LB to delete it from the rom folder, LB just sees the file there and adds it back. You either have to remove it from the folder or let LB delete it when you delete it from the front-end. You can turn that option on in the "General" tab of the LB options.
  14. Currently no. This is a new feature so the devs are actively working on updating. It can be a bit tricky to plan for all the variations as an example Pico8 emulator uses .png as rom file. So blacklisting that would prevent Pico8 from importing. I would say if you are using that type of folder structure those other front ends use you might want to turn this feature off for now.
  15. If you do not have auto-imports on then it is not importing anything. It is possible LB is reading an extra platform xaml that might be in your \Data folder. Did you notice if the change in numbers might have been being altered for a specific platform or did you only look at the total # changing? Inside your \Launchbox\Data folder do you have any extra platform xaml files in there that might share the same name as a platform. Such as backups of xaml files or extra copies? Even if they are slightly renamed LB will try to rename them and cause a similar issue. We can understand the frustration if something is not working right. However, cussing and demanding will not do things any good at least with resect to us listening to you and continuing to offer assistance.
  16. Just import the roms from where they are. You can either open a Windows folder where the roms are and drag and drop into LB to import or sell use the import rom/file option in the LB import wizard and it allows you to select the rom folder.
  17. Fix for what exactly? That error is due to the fact LB is no longer supported Win 7 or 8. Last workable version of LB on those two older OS is 13.9. If you are using Win 7 or 8 you need to reinstall 13.9 or older or update Windows to be able to use more current versions of LB.
  18. No image priories are global as of current builds.
  19. Check under the additional apps for the game Lee Trevino's golf for Country Club. offroadt.zip will likely be an app under the normal Ironman Ivan Stewart's Super Off-Road game.
  20. Was LB closed when you removed the files? If not it needs to be. If it was, I would say close LB again, remove those files, then try a reimport. That Missing.Serial.txt is not something from LB. Sounds like something from a plugin. Look in your \Plugins folder and see what you have in there or if the 18TB is a preloaded drive maybe its from the builder. Not sure, but I know it is not anything LB generates.
  21. Well that's the issue. 1. Those txt files are not generated by LB. So whatever plugin or additional program you are using to probably scrape game meta is doing that. LB does not generate text files. I would open those files and see if it has a header field showing what generated it. 2. The biggest issue is there should never been any additional paltform xaml or txt files in that folder. Those ones you labeled backup need to be store in a different folder. LB will attempt to read them that is why you are seeing issues. LB is getting confused. Move all those extra platform xaml and txt files out and you should see LB function correctly. In the future leave that folder to LB and what it generates. You can make a sub folder in there to store backups and test files, but never directly in the \Data\Platforms folder.
  22. What does the contents of your \Data\Platform folder look like (post a pic).
  23. There error is telling you one of the files is corrupted. Just do what it is advising and see if it fixes. On the external drive go into the \Backups folder and open one of the zips. Copy the Arcade.xaml to the \Data\Platforms folder.
  24. Without seeing you set-up in LB it is hard to tell what you have wrong. >Tools >Manage >Emulators and edit Mame. Post pics of the Details tab and the Associate Platforms tab.
  25. That is a bit conflicting. If you had LB set up Mame it would have used the most current. You are using a very old version of Mame. If you are using 0.109u3 version the likely issue is there is a command line option that is probably not working with that old of a Mame version. The line below is added to LB set-ups for Mame to allow for pause menu feature to work. You can try deleting it from the "Default Command Line Paramters" section in Mame set-up in LB. -keyboardprovider dinput My recommendation would be to scrap the old version and get a more modern set of roms and version of Mame.
