Zombeaver's PCSX2 Configs / Simple 1-Click Installs With PCSX2 Configurator

110 / 45% done now.

I've also been keeping a detailed changelog so that people can see what's changed once it's all done. A lot of little fixes and improvements here and there.

Also, just FYI I'm on dev 3281 now because there was actually a very recent improvement that fixed a regression that's been around since 1.2.1 that caused some issues in some games, like skipping audio in cutscenes in Shadow of Rome and weird speedup problems in Jak 2. So a really nice improvement there.

Alright so Borderlands 3 had me very distracted for a while, but I've got two level 50 characters now so I'm taking a break from that and am right back into working on this. I'm currently at 139 / 57%.

Just so people can get a better idea of the current state, this is the current changelog (only games that actually had some change to their config are included):

Lord of the Rings, The: The Third Age
NOTE: This game has slightly more problems in dev 3281 than it had in 2711, primarily because of accuracy improvements which makes it now attempt to render some elements that are buggy. This can mostly be mitigated with the proper settings, but it is nevertheless slightly buggier visually than it was in 2711, so I’m including instructions for the proper settings to use on 2711 on the details spreadsheet. The included config is for 3281, and should be sufficient for the vast majority of people. If you’re really picky like me, you may want to grab the attached 2711 build and setup a config for it specifically, using the settings I list on the sheet.

Lord of the Rings, The: The Two Towers

Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Removed software FMV hack (unneeded - game is already set to use software mode for everything)
At some point between dev 2711 and 3265 the bug where the judgement ring would make half the screen turn black has changed; now it’s all or nothing - sometimes it will display properly, sometimes the entire screen will be black. Turn OPH Flag hack on under manual fixes if you want to try using hardware rendering. Other settings used seem to mitigate it somewhat based on (extensive) testing. Software rendering has no issues, however, so for the time being that’s still what it’s set to use.

No and I'm rather dubious frankly. They're there for those that want them, but games during this era often had elements such as physics, collision, etc. that were tied in with framerate that are likely to break if running at a speed that wasn't intended.

I'm sure some of them are fine, but I haven't messed with them. My priority is just getting these running well, while upscaled, and not looking like a buggy mess.

You are a freaking legend!

Thank you for putting so much time into this project. The documentation spreadsheet over on GitHub is the cherry on top of the cake for me :)

Are you still using PCSX2 dev 3281? Would there be any reason for to use that instead of the latest build?

Thank you, again!

The upcoming update is using 3281, yes.

Newer builds might be okay too, but they make some major changes on occasion so I can't say that for sure. All of my testing for the update has been on 3281 (well, about half 3281 and half 3265, but most of the changes between those two are minor), so I'll be attaching that specific version here when I push the update through (though you can find it on the buildbot as well). Chances are the latest would be okay too, I'm just not comfortable recommending it without having tested it. There are a few minor regressions from 2711 (the build the current batch of configs is based on) for example. There are several instances where things are vastly improved as well, mind you. In the handful of cases where things are a bit worse, I'll be including the ideal settings for both 2711 and 3281 on the updated spreadsheet so that you can use a separate version on the rare occasion it's preferred.

The update has been delayed because I sold/bought/moved houses. We literally moved in yesterday. It's a disaster zone of moving boxes at the moment. I'll get back to this once things are back in some semblance of order but the IRL stuff has to take precedence for the time being. That said, this hasn't been forgotten.

Hey man,

Thanks for your hard work. Some games in my.library won't find your configs, for example, all the "hack" games, even though they are matched with the lbgdb. Other games like ffxii work fine. What am I missing?

EDIT: Never Mind, I was mistaken. It works fine ?

EDIT2: I found a config that actually doesn't download: it's the game "NanoBreaker". Just wanted to inform you!

I seem to be having a weird issue with using the Configs. I have the PCSX2 Configurator Next extracted into the Launchbox Plugins folder but when I right click on the games in Launchbox itself, the PCSX2 Configurator option doesnt appear at the bottom like it should. Any idea what could be the issue?

I'm not sure, although your platform is named Playstation 2 which I don't believe is the default (Sony Playstation 2). I don't think that in and of itself should be a problem so long as you have it setup to scrape-as correctly. Beyond that the only thing I know to suggest is to maybe try unblocking the .dll - that can sometimes cause issues.
