I mean the games starts, I can play, but all of a sudden LB is showing the closing screen, and closes. But the game stays, only that it goes from fullscreen to windowed mode.

Don't know what you mean? The screen gets black, nothing happens anymore, I can not even get out of it. Can't even see the task manager, as the black screen stays in front of everything. ALT-F4 doesn't even work. Had to restart the PC.

I'm using both scripts mentioned here, doesn't work otherwise, together with the /load option. If I tick "Use Exclusive Fullscreen Mode" I get exactly the problem that Fr0nz mentioned: ***Unless things work for you, be sure that the emulator's Video config settings has Use Exclusive Fullscreen Mode UNCHECKED *** On my system that causes issues and the game screen goes black and the emulator won't close without using Task Manager to End Task. The problem happens with Blood Wake and Crimson Skies. Did not notice it in any other game so far (10 tested).

It works for me as well, although in some games, I start to play for let's say 30 seconds, LB window "closing game" pops up, and the Cxbx screen goes windowed from fullscreen, but game is still running. So something is causing LB to close and something makes Cxbx still run, although in windowed mode.

TOSECs are a pain to go through, that's right. The only time I used a TOSEC was for the C64, as that's still one of my favorite systems, childhood memories and stuff, so I wanted to be sure to go through everything and not missing out a game I didn't know so far. But pain it was indeed. Once it was done though, I felt like a king ? Just to mention, I didn't keep every single game though, just the ones I want, still talking about around 2.000 games.

Again the same question, why would you keep several versions of the same ROM? Goes beyond me. I still would understand it for the collecting purpose, but unnecessarily cluttering LB with stuff seems counterproductive to me.

Did you check the option "Combine ROMs with matching titles into a single game"? Or you could force importing duplicate files, and then merge them into one entry.

You definitely should have an internet connection, otherwise you're indeed gonna struggle a lot like Neil mentioned.

That's correct. Just use the standalone emulator of MAME, no need for RetroArch.

Mate I think you have to work on your postings, I honestly don’t understand what you mean?? Fullscreen in RA is F. In standalone, depends which emulator you’re using obviously. I always preferred Steem.

Most computers use either joystick button press, space bar or one specific Fn key.

I run Atomiswave and Naomi in Flycast. Works fine.

Ok, Hikaru and Gaelco run fine through Demul.

Just checked and can see that my DC ROMs are in .chd format. I run most of the games in ReDream, and those not supported I run in Demul. For Naomi & Co. I use Flycast. Did not yet get Hikaru running in Flycast, games just won't launch. Virtual-On Force is in the MAME set, von.zip and it runs in MAME 220 in RetroArch, as runs Virtual-On 2, but in my case quite slow with sound issues. Does Hikaru need some special setting in Flycast to run, or do you run them in MAME? You can always check ROMs in the Arcade Database: http://adb.arcadeitalia.net/default.php.

LB has the possibility to do that. Just mark "racing" games and put them into a playlist.

How I did it, I made a favorites set with MAME 210, I will keep it, I won't update. Do you plan to go through the whole process over and over again with every new MAME release?

No, I think max is 5TB, as far as I know. And that already since long time, I also thought, and hoped, bigger ones would come out at some point. Btw, I use the Seagate Backup Plus Portable 5TB.

Refresh all images in Big Box should do the trick.
