Sinden controls are bound to keyboard/mouse, I guess I'll have to change the default trigger from "mouse 1" to "enter" to actually confirm choice in the Pause screen. Pretty cool being also able to fast-forward and rewind from the gun itself with Retroarch hotkeys as it allows to bind a controller and a KBM key to all input options!

Oh well I feel stupid now, that was a simple as that lol.

Hi, I have set this option (Num 6) to be able to open the Pause screen from keyboard (idea is also to be able to open it from Sinden gun) but it doesn't do anything. The controller automation works fine using the home button. What is this option supposed to do?

Community Playlist 📄 Party Time! 🥳 + Steam Key Giveaway
Kefka2b replied to AstroBob's topic in Community Corner
Hey here's my submission: - F-Zero (SNES) - PES 3 (PS2) - Time Crisis (Arcade) - Baldur's Gate: The Dark Alliance (PS2) - Team Fortress (Windows) -
Thanks everyone at the Launchbox team, the best front end by far and a great community. Really looking forward to the save manager features in 13.16! My question is regarding Bigbox themes, is there plans to take over theme development of at least the most popular themes (Colorful 4K and 3 or 4 more for example), and update them regularly, implementing all features available in Launchbox (install/uninstall Steam games for example), and also integrating customisation options for themes directly like in emulation station (colours, button aids styles etc...), feels like Bigbox is a bit left behind and relying on users to develop themes (I'd like to learn CTC but I don't have the time). I'd love to setup a Bigbox as shell system but it feels like I would be needing to move back and forth to Launchbox frequently.

I would also really like this to be implemented as I am using loads of different controllers, arcade stick and a sinden light gun.

Community Playlist 📄 Top 5 Games Of All Time 🎖️ + Steam Key Giveaway
Kefka2b replied to AstroBob's topic in Community Corner
Really cool topics you are brining to this community! My top 5 (choice is really hard though so I went quick without thinking too much about it): - Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System): The first game I ever played, probably was like 5 or 6, my big bro got a Master System and this game was integrated within the console, the rest is history (remember noting down the henchmen's rock paper scissors combinations, my first cheats!), never actually finished it as it was hard and unfair as fuck like most games back then, until I could rewind and save in Retroarch. - Sonic 3 & Knuckles (MegaDrive): Revolutionary combining of 2 MegaDrive cartridges to make a big awesome game (I think it was supposed to be a single game in the first place, but it was too massive for a single cartridge or something like that), ability to save games, and of course when obtaining all the emeralds from both games, transforming into hyper Sonic... What a great time that was. - Final Fantasy VII (PSX): What can I say, my first experience of RPGs and never went back, played it a billion times, still got my PSX memory card with the save that's beaten it all ( golden chocobo, knights of the round, ruby and emerald weapons defeated etc...), it was 3 blocks out of 15 if memory serves me well (no pun intended), but too valuable to delete. Just started another playthrough with the 7th heaven mods on pc, it's magnificent. - Dark Souls (PS3): A game that will ruin the video game experience for me somehow, if it wasn't a challenge like a souls games then it was not a good game to me, I would always compare everything to DS. I could have put Bloodborne instead as it's probably the best souls game for me, but DS was my first one. The level design was also absolutely amazing, first time I used wikis and communities for games as it was a bit of a crazy mess to understand the mechanics, and actually build a character that could have a chance. - Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4): Never thought I would like playing a female character so much, never bothered getting trophies that often for games in general but this game made me want to achieve the platinum trophy and I did it (my only one so far). Just amazing story, graphics, gameplay, world exploration, and crazy combat against colossal machines. I could just put the controller down and admire the scenery, never felt so sucked into a game. The sequel was disappointing as it didn't really bring innovative concepts, not surprising, considering how complete and ground breaking, this masterpiece already was. - Bonus (sorry), Dark Age of Camelot (PC): Couldn't not include this one as I spent way too much time of my youth on it, and my best friends also, for me the only MMORPG that ever managed to capture my console gamer attention, I didn't have a PC back then and only played in Internet Cafés, yes it was a huge budget. Unforgiving game, no fluff, crazy exp grinding, but of course a realm Vs realm PvP system which was absolutely amazing with fort and relic raids, with hundreds of players fighting, it was revolutionary. There was a real sense of belonging to your realm, as you could only create characters on 1 realm per server. The time investment to progress on a character was so huge that rerolling wasn't really a thing and you will stick to it, Midgard powaaaaaaa, never got to know Albion or Hibernia during at least the first 2 years of playing this game. -
Those shaders have been a revelation to me, never liked other CRT shaders or even understood the point of having them, but 2D console games just look so much better than when using raw pixels on an OLED tv, and curves and reflections are so immersive. Indeed need a decent GPU, my rtx3070 ti runs at 200 watts when using these shaders 😂.

Mega bezels reflection shaders with Duimon's bezels mainly using a night TV bezel for all 4:3 consoles zoomed in a bit to get more screen real estate(really like the fact that it is not distracting thanks to its simplicity which my main issue with bezels in general alongside making the game screen area too small but just wouldn't tolerate plain black bars anymore either) and using game specific settings removing shaders/bezels for 3d games that work well with wide-screen cheats/hacks (upscaling them to 4k with mbz shaders makes them crash) or only using same night tv bezels without shaders for 3d games that don't have working wide-screen hacks/cheats (same reason upscaling with shaders crashes my games). I spent hours making game specific settings for my large collection of games. I still need to setup bezels for arcade games as they are realistic and looks cool, probably will use MBZ with Orionangel's bezels.

boxart What is your favourite piece of video game box art❓
Kefka2b replied to AstroBob's topic in Community Corner
Really hold a special affection for all the Final Fantasy PSX and PS2 PAL box arts. White background and logo/title, simple but effective. On top of being beautiful, the logo would give a hint on the game's main topic but still required a bit of knowledge/playthrough to get the meaning. -
Make sure you install the hid hide input plugin that comes with ds4windows it will allow you to completely hide the playstation controller from the system. Maybe that's the root cause.
-
I've seen a few people complain about this in the forums when using the default dinput drivers. Basically I use ds4windows and emulate all my non xinput controllers as xbox360 controllers (wether it is playstation or other controllers that ds4windows supports), it works great and even offers further options like battery indicators on the controller etc (with a dualsense at least). Xinput drivers are generally better supported on windows and windows software.
-
Are you having the issue on all cores or only the psx core? You may want to check your input settings while in game in the retroarch quick menu, maybe your imported config has another controller id set as core input remap or something like that.
-
Is it possible like you can in Launchbox? Hitting "play" takes you through the steam install process (but you need a mouse) but it would be awesome being able to uninstall them also all via controller, especially If you use Bib Box as shell.
-
Yes it's .m3u, just follow the same logic as with .cue, basically you can just modify your existing .m3u files and replace all the .cue with .chd once you have converted your files to chd. Here's an example attached anyways. Final Fantasy IX (USA).m3u

If it's only to store media and emulators, you can have a much smaller one, although even 4TB SSDs have become pretty cheap nowadays (even NVME ones). Depends on how many games your library will contain.
-
I have almost 9k games, and my LB folder takes 330gb, I've downloaded box fronts and CD/cart front packs (highquality), screenshots, videos (prioritizing highest quality), manuals, fanart backgrounds, all as a single entries (no duplicates) for games that had them either via the LB database or Emumovies. The LB folder also contains all my emulators. Games are stored in another location.
-
Yes either via core remaps if the core is only for one platform and content directory remaps if you use several platforms on one core. You can access this in-game only via the Retroarch quick menu, in the Input section.

Any clue what the script would look like please, never done any AHK scripts I understand this needs to be done on a per game basis for Windows games? I see a global option for setting an AHK for Windows games in the Launchbox top menu.

Thanks both, actually i think it closes fine but FF13 has an additional exit confirmation so I guess that's why it doesn't close well.

Hey guys, just started importing my Steam library to Launchbox and tested my only installed game which is FFXIII. So using the pause menu, first of all the game is not paused, I can still hear the music playing. But most importantly, the quit game option does nothing, the game is sent to the task bar but isn't closed. Is there a way to make it work? The last thing is when starting up games, is there a way to keep the steam opening process fully hidden by the startup screen?

chd compression support PCSX2 (PlayStation 2)
Kefka2b replied to Your Friendly A.I Overlord's topic in Noobs
Strange, I have a collection of more than 200 PS2 games in chd and played at least 60 or 70 but yet to encounter 1 that doesn't work. Can you name a few games that were giving you issues, I'd like to test them as well. -
@Elmo80you can check my controller profile as a guide if you want, this is where it's located (accomodate the path to your actual path on your pc): "C:\LaunchBox\Emulators\RetroArch\autoconfig\xinput" The line assigning the button (see below) is actually just deleted and not changed to "Null", so you can just delete it if you want: input_menu_toggle_btn = "10" My Dual Sense emulated as XInput controller with DS4Windows is seen as a Controller (xbox360 for Windows), just check how your controller is labelled to edit the right config file.
