Launchbox-RetroPie-Batocera-Miyoo Export
Kefka2b commented on dingodan's file in Third-party Apps and Plugins
Hey @dingodan so I tried the Mega Drive / Genesis export for Batocera, I am able to get the files (Roms/images/Videos) exported and then after transferring them to the Roms\megadrive folder in Batocera they are not being displayed in the games list, I reckon the Launchbox naming of the files doesn't work for Batocera? As downloading the box art manually renames it differently with appended text also to identify that it is a box art. Am I missing something in the export process? Here is my script attached, help would be appreciated. EDIT: Also attaching the generated XML it seems the files are not specified? launchbox_retropie_export.py gamelist.xml -
This a Bigbox theme and isn't applicable to Launchbox. If you have the paid version you can use Bigbox and in the options install the theme.

And yes you need to create playlists which I think is not great and definitely would love to have the ability to use quick filters.

Hard to find rather specific logos and for free, but I 've been doing something a bit similar in the past and after long searches I was actually able to find some in Google Image searches albeit not always to my taste (make sure you look for .png files, although there probably is more file formats that work)

Is it possible to map multiple different kinds of controllers per console?
Kefka2b replied to Fuzzykropolis's topic in Noobs
@Fuzzykropolis The only thing that might still solve it for you is this: In the ds4windows settings tab, go to "Device Options" at the mid right. Here you can select all the controller types you want to be recognized by DS4Windows. Pro controller is unchecked by default! Just enable everything honestly it won't do any harm anyways. Maybe now it will recognise it. You need to restart the program I think. -

I understand but how does windows detect it (ie. which name is given to it in the connected devices) when you connect it? -

Hey is the controller setup as Switch Pro controller? Windows and DS4windows should be able to recognise it like that (Make sure Switch pro emulation is enabled in DS4Windows). I've received the Exlene GC controller, I was able to detect it in WIndows and DS4WIndows as Switch Pro controller however, it was always showing 0% battery in DS4windows and would always disconnect and reconnect, however setting it as X-Input mode directly perfectly recognised it as Xbox controller and configured all the buttons exactly as expected except A-B-X-Y being reversed, it is changeable in Dolphin but not Bigbox since it would affect all controllers (just like my dual sense would be configured as xbox controller via ds4windows so I didn't even need it in the end, my 8bitdo M30 also works perfectly with DS4WIndows when set as Switch pro mode after doing a bit of remapping since it is a 6 button controller, in X-Input I just was not able to get Retroarch hotkeys to work on both controllers due to very different mapping, I will receive a Brawler64 today normally and will provide also feedback once I set it up) -

I think you would have to create a separate playlist for each platform then... It would be great to be able to pull up quick filters that would not not be platform specific.
-
Go to tools and manage platforms, you can select a different path for all content types for each platform. It's a bit tedious though. Regarding themes I don't think you can change the default location.

I have an LG CX 48, and it looks awesome, for retro games I use Retroarch with the HSM Megabezels with Reflections shaders (I customised it a bit for a bit less reflections as I found them distracting, a bigger screen area by zooming in a bit, slightly increased brightness, with also custom TV bezels to make it look nicer): https://forums.libretro.com/t/mega-bezel-reflection-shader-feedback-and-updates/25512

Is it possible to map multiple different kinds of controllers per console?
Kefka2b replied to Fuzzykropolis's topic in Noobs
Hey yes for me it works great, currently using a dualsense and an M30 (but getting an Exlene GC controller and brawler 64 N64 controller all set as switch pro controllers the M30 as well) emulated as xbox360 controllers via ds4windows. It allows me to have a consistent button mapping for all emulators and windows/BigBox and their functions, like home button for pause screen in BigBox as well as select button as hotkey toggle and various other hotkeys for retroarch, PCSX2 and Dolphin for example. For Retroarch cores, I just remap the buttons as profiles in DS4Windows according to the default mapping of cores for the X360 controllers, which allow me to play with other controllers or have a player 2 with another controller type without having to remap in the core options. -

Humm seems like a very specific use case. Why have 10 controllers connected all the time? Just plug-in or turn on bluetooth when needed? Ds4windows will give P1 to first detected controller and so on so turn them on in the needed order. -

I do the same as @Sbaby but with ds4windows (it supports a lot more than dual shocks), basically I create a profile linked to each controller (all emulated as xbox360 controllers) with remaps as required, ds4windows detects the Mac address of the controller which is unique so no mixup possible and you can also hide the original detected hardware from windows to avoid issues like double input. Gyro supported controllers will also work like dual sense or Exlene GameCube controller for Cemu for example. The idea is to keep a consistent button mapping between both bigbox navigation and pause screen as well as games. -
I went ahead and purchased the Exlene GameCube updated Bluetooth Switch controller as well as the Brawler 64 (N64) Bluetooth Switch controller, as I reckon they should be detected as Switch Pro controllers (with the Home and Select buttons) which means they will also allow me to emulate an XBox360 controller via DS4Windows (creating a separate profile and mapping for both) and enjoy all the BigBox (navigation and pause screen with home button) & Retroarch/Dolphin (Hotkeys shared across all controllers) capabilities for N64 & GameCube emulation. I'll share the results once I test them for anyone that might be interested in going down the same route in the future.

I don't have the figures for you, just open either Launchbox or BigBox and then check what the process consumes for CPU, RAM and GPU in the Windows Task Manager (I don't know if consumption is increased due to added functionalities when a game is launched vs without a game launched so you could inspect both scenarios). If your machine has VERY low specs it may impact it.

Hey for anyone who'll stumble upon this in the future I managed to find a solution to this 1. Set the M30 to Switch mode (Hold start+Y for a few seconds) and pair it to Windows. 2. Set it to D-Pad mode (Hold Select+D-pad up for a few seconds) 3. If like me you tried to fiddle with controller configs in Retroarch, make sure you use the default auto-config profiles in Retroarch and save your config. 5. I took my Dual Sense (Emulating an Xbox360 controller via DS4Windows) and had to reconfigure it manually for some reason. 6. Connect your M30 using DS4Windows (Hide the Nintendo controller in Hid Hide wizard), it will now be recognized as a Switch pro controller and emulate an X360 controller with it also. 7. Retroarch will recognize both as the same x360 controller which is good (it means that hotkeys will work on both controllers the same way)! 8. Make sure you create a separate profile in DS4Windows for both controllers in DS4Windows and that they are linked to each by default. 9. You now have to re-assign a few buttons manually in the DS4Windows profile config (A,C,X,Y,Z only were needed IIRC) for your M30 to match the auto config mapping of the x360 controller in Retroarch. Now everything works and Mega Drive and Saturn buttons are mapped well without any modifications needed on the cores (which means you can also use the regular controller if you want to :D

Hello, I've just received the Bluetooth version of this controller (already upgraded firmware to v2.0) and I am setting it up as XInput (and pad set as D-Pad) for full compatibility with LB/BB (navigation and pause screen for which I use the Xbox corresponding button to open, Retroarch menu is set to open with "Start+Select" only), until now I have mainly used a DualSense emulated as XInput with DS4Windows and it works great! But I am trying to map the controller in Retroarch from the main menu, the controller is recognised as XInput compatible Bluetooth device. Since the GenesisplusGX core is mapped this way: - Joypad Auto: A -> X B -> A C -> B X -> LB Y -> Y Z -> RB Start -> Start Switch mode -> Select (However I have unmapped this since the pad converts automatically according to games I believe) I then setup my controller this way in the main Retroarch menu (Buttons are labelled as digits and axis values which makes it very confusing also...): A -> X B -> A C -> B X -> LB Y -> Y Z -> RB Start -> Start Select -> Middle bottom button L -> LT R-> RT It seems to work more or less in GenesisplusGX, however in Mednafen Beetle Saturn, the core default mapping is completely different (although the controller was very similar to the Mega Drive one), I guess I may just do a core-remap and forget playing Saturn games with my DualSense on this core completely since the controls would then be completely messed up. However here are the issues: In Mednafen Saturn both L and R work as LT although the mapping of the core clearly shows that L and R are set to LT and RT... I use "Select" as my hotkey toggle in Retroarch and then LT as Rewind, RT as fast-forward (hold) and RB as fast-forward toggle, but C is used as fast-forward (hold) and R is used as Rewind. Has anyone gone through this? I'm starting to lose my mind. I have already updated controller profiles in Retroarch (V1.16.0) before doing the custom config.

Multi Disk Support (Seperate from additinal apps)

Yes I also think there should be a select disk option separate from additional apps but it's just my retro OCD -
Reshade Manager
Kefka2b replied to wemr97dl's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Development and Beta Testing)
Sorry if this was already asked and answered. I am looking to use the same tv bezel for all games in Xemu and Dolphin that don't work in widescreen (the ones compatible with either native support/cheats or hacks will have game specific pre-sets that will display them in widescreen, I have already done this for Dolphin thanks to @Warped Polygon's amazing work on various platforms, still need to check if it's possible in Xemu though). Is it possible with this plugin?
