  1. Thank you Owls. Yeah, there are emulators that are definitely much better suited for some of those platforms. We use the MAME metadata in order to process everything correctly, so we would need a different solution for the non-MAME stuff.
  2. The playlists that are created are specifically for MAME arcade games. The playlists you're referring to are either not playable (or barely playable) with MAME, or are not arcade playlists.
  3. That's a good thought; currently you can't but I might be able to add that in eventually.
  4. This might be something that @CriticalCid would need to help with, though he may be on a much-needed break ftm. Make sure that all the DLL files in the Themes\Unified\Plugins folder are "unlocked" (from File properties). My only other thought is that it could be a resolution issue if you're not running a typical resolution or a resolution that the theme supports.
  5. Do the videos play if you use the default theme? Sorry if you've already answered that question. You can also try switching between video playback engines to see if that makes any difference.
  6. I plan to attempt to fix this soon, but honestly I've tried to fix it in the past without success. I think Steam's API is either being glitchy or they're somehow blocking us again. I will revisit soon.
  7. Do you have the game videos from EmuMovies? If they're playing in full screen but not there, then that does sound like something odd is going on.
  8. The game videos come from EmuMovies @snipered. The platform videos aren't used in the games lists.
  9. @RetroHumanoid Hopefully the beta that I just put out helps. Let me know how it fares.
  10. Beta 2 is out now with the following: - Improvement: LaunchBox performance has been significantly improved when loading up the platform categories list in the sidebar, specifically when dealing with categories and total game counts. Loading the counts is now threaded so they may not show up immediately and will load in the background for large collections. - Improvement: Items with children are no longer always sorted first in the LaunchBox side bar, which was a bit disorienting now that platform categories are more flexible - Improvement: Big Box performance has been improved when loading up details for platform categories with many children - Fixed: Rare null reference error when loading game details in the sidebar in LaunchBox - Fixed: Rare data issue with platform categories not showing up - Fixed: Playlists were sometimes not updating when manually adding games to playlists
  11. Ah, okay. I was looking for it in the wrong place lol. I see it now with the details though; I'll see what I can do. @cleverest I have your LaunchBox populating platform categories performance issue fixed for the next beta.
  12. Okay, after reading through things again, I'm guessing that @cleverest is referring to LaunchBox while @RetroHumanoid is referring to Big Box.
  13. @RetroHumanoid @cleverest Diving into this now. Are you seeing this in LaunchBox or Big Box or both?
  14. This would indeed be amazing, but video transitions like this are completely incompatible with the current engine, so it would be a major and difficult task. Maybe some day.
  15. This should be fixed for the next beta as well.
  16. Thanks @angelobodetti; as best I can tell, this issue was a relic of some bugs we had in previous betas that left your data in sort of a limbo state. I've added some force-fixes in the next beta that should fix it. Yes, I have plans to streamline the process of creating playlists. For the shooter situation, you can just say genre Equals shooter, which will only contain games with the exact Shooter genre. The queries do become complicated when adding more than one filter on the same field, and I know that can be improved.
  17. Good to know guys, though I wish I would have heard about this before the official releases. Please zip up and send me your LaunchBox\Data folders and I'll investigate.
  18. Let me know if you're on the official release or the betas. If you can zip up and PM me your Data folder, I can look to see what might have happened.
  19. What version did you upgrade to? What version did you upgrade from? Are you seeing the same thing in LaunchBox as well? Edit: I assume you are, since you've tried to add a new playlist. Do the playlists show up in Playlist view?
  20. Yes, we should really put feature requests into separate threads. Nothing wrong with discussing feature requests on the forums, but they don't really belong in the beta testing threads. All you have to do is call me out (@Jason Carr) to ensure that I see the request. That said, I don't think I've heard a request for improving the image viewer in a long time, if at all, but we can at least add it to the next poll. Same for adding more platform/playlist/category metadata to the LB interface.
  21. I'm not sure exactly how we'll handle this, but keep in mind that it might be a tradeoff. I'm more interested in performance than making sure that games that were just played are updated immediately in auto-populate playlists. I may just add a manual refresh option for situations like that.
  22. Hey, glad you got your issue figured out. Please change your name though to something a little more appropriate.
  23. I do plan to add some easier options to auto-generate playlists. Currently I'm planning on adding something to the right-click menu for platforms to auto-generate genre playlists, etc., so I can probably add a Favorites one as well.
  24. Unfortunately that sounds fairly difficult to troubleshoot. I would first try rebooting to see if it still happens. The only thing I can think of is that something keeps running LaunchBox.exe or BigBox.exe in the background, as that will focus the window.
  25. No, not necessarily. Platforms are not guaranteed to have a parent if the user chooses to place them in the root. It's also important to note that categories, platforms, and playlists can all also be placed in multiple locations (multiple parents).
