  1. And another new beta is out. It was a very productive live stream this morning; we implemented region priorities and then finally got scrolling text working thanks to @silvusvalentine's ScrollingTextBlock control. Region priorities will allow you to prioritize the image regions to make sure that the correct region's image is shown. It will also show the correct image based on the Region field of the game. The scrolling text is now available for the game notes, game details, filter details, and platform details. They can be turned on or disabled in the Game Details, Filter Details, and Platform Details sections in the Big Box options. Lastly, I updated the custom themes documentation to show how to integrate the scrolling text into custom themes.
  2. Not sure for Lightspeed, but the LaunchBox importer uses the LaunchBox\Metadata\Mame.xml file. Sorry if I was misleading earlier; I had forgotten that we were using a separate file for the MAME metadata.
  3. Thank you @wallmachine. I think it's happening sporadically. Will review.
  4. We're working on this slashguns. Should have it all fixed for VLC before the 6.9 official release but it might be a while. I recommend using WMP until we can get the issues squared away.
  5. Alright, it's been quite the night. I was seeing performance issues with Attract Mode after I added all the extra custom themes options, and it took me forever to track it down, but I finally have it fixed. Beta 7 is out with the fix. @Riffman81, yeah, I think we'll be adding that at some point. There is already an option to turn off switching between platforms, though, so that it will always just stick on whatever is selected. So you could just manually select whatever you want and it will stay there.
  6. So I apparently botched the Attract Mode with beta 5 (whoops). Just put out beta 6 to fix that issue. @CriticalCid ReleaseYear is complicated; I need to look into how it works. It's possible that it's a relic that isn't being used. If it is used, it's only populated if the full date is not available, so I can see how that would be confusing. I should probably change up the documentation there somehow. There is a way to show the correct rating banner, but naturally it's complicated and I'll have to look at it. Added both those things to my list.
  7. @shinra358 I still have that on my list. @CriticalCid That's great to hear. Hopefully it eliminates a lot of the confusion.
  8. Sorry guys, I indeed botched the Attract Mode for beta 5. I'm currently uploading beta 6 with the fix.
  9. David, I am aware of that issue and it is on our plate to resolve. It is not an issue that is specific to this theme. My suggestion would be to use WMP until we can get it resolved.
  10. That is indeed a great idea, @DOS76. That would be awesome to have all the versions at your fingertips. I hate to ask, but can you add a ticket? @DJQuad, I see now. Yeah, I'm not sure there's going to be a good solution for that really. You could modify either the Metadata.xml or Lightspeed's data files but that would be quite a chore.
  11. Gotcha, no worries @Thordelan. Sorry to rain on your parade. It does make sense about compressed, smaller versions.
  12. Hi @nosh, just put out a new beta that should help a lot for tweaking the FlowControl. I also added a bunch of related documentation to the PDF file. I'll take a look at the blur thing and the transition for the image and see if I can come up with a solution. It might be a couple days though, unfortunately, but I'll put it at the top of my list.
  13. Hi DJ, try using the lightspeed importer, as it will give you more control:
  14. Hi @Thordelan, to be honest I believe we should be valuing quality over disk space with the LaunchBox Games Database. Even if it *appears* that there is no quality loss when recompressing images, there always is. I prefer that we not recompress existing images in the LaunchBox Games Database for this reason. These days both hard drive space and bandwidth are plentiful, so I would prefer to keep as large of images as possible, in their original form. In the future we could provide an option to download compressed images, but I would not want to alter the originals.
  15. Alright, another new beta is out that again focuses on custom themes. I think we should be in a good spot now with the custom themes for a while. I added a bunch more options to the FlowControl for CoverFlow and wheel variations, as well as added related documentation to the new themes documentation PDF file. It should be neat to see what people can do with the wheels now. I also fixed the issue where up and down was being used to navigate with the horizontal wheel. That's it for now; I think we may end up working on the LaunchBox Games Database again tomorrow in the development live stream.
  16. I think I see what you're saying, or at least I have an idea. We could make the first image always skip the _01, which would probably improve things. Is that what you mean?
  17. Yeah, honestly I don't know how to solve that one. You probably know as much as I do on that subject. A transparent PNG would probably get you close but yeah, won't get you the full blurring effect.
  18. @wallmachine Are you still seeing this 500 errors? I think we might have occasional issues with background processes.

Dude!!! Wow, that looks really awesome. So much fun.
  20. Hi @dalehitchy, MAME can be very tricky. Your best bet is to find a complete set of MAME ROMs that works with the latest versions of MAME.
  21. Thank you @slashguns04. Will review. @higan I think this might have started happening recently.
  22. Hi @Scanno, you can use Additional Applications to do different things via the right-click menu in LaunchBox, or the game details menu in Big Box, which allows you to run multiple different things per game. However, I'm not sure of a way to change the fullscreen settings that way. It would depend on the emulator and the emulator would have to support changing the fullscreen setting via the command line. So unfortunately it wouldn't really be easy to do, and probably isn't possible for everything.
  23. Ah, good point lol. I'll take a look at that. I'm going to add some more features to the wheel today to allow for some more customization as well.
  24. Hi @Styphelus, I'm planning to add a media audit feature but unfortunately that's not there yet. Currently there's no good way to do this, sadly.
  25. @ThePolish Not currently, but that would indeed be a good idea.
