  1. Try: http://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.3.2/windows/x86_64/ Which is from their site.
  2. The MAME Libretro core doesn't care (at least I'm sure most of the cores don't care) if you are running x86 or x64, but if you ran the online updater recently there is a chance they updated. It would honestly be easier (and my suggestion) to just grab 170 to 171, 171 to 172, 172 to 173 and 173 to 174 MAME Update packs. If you grabbed a merged pack or merged it yourself then you need to grab a new 174 merged pack as split upgrades (I don't think they're ever merged updates) will break a merged pack. These packs would be much more easy to find than a specific version of an RA core. There is a great CLRMamePro tutorial on the site written by @CriticalCid that will update your set from 170 to 174 in very little time. The bulk of the wait would either be the download, depending on your speed, and the actual process of upgrading and changing around the roms, which also depends on your hard drive speed (and maybe CPU speed if you do a merged set). That said, if you download a FULL RA download (with all the cores included, which they exist) then grab a 1.3.3 pack or something and grab the MAME core from this. However, it's generally best to keep cores and emulators up to date.
  3. If your games are in the MAME Rom folder, you set the correct path to your MAME emulator, and you are launching correct files from a MAME Rom Set then it should work just fine. https://i.imgur.com/onGNcDf.png
  4. What Derek said, after that it should run perfectly fine.
  5. Edited and added themes that have their own threads now! If you have a theme create a thread in the new theme subforum now!
  6. Yea I get that error all the time, I just ignore it and wait a few seconds before continuing.
  7. Yea these will remain optional for the user that want to use them, but we will never forget what got us to the dance in the first place and that is our usability. In my honest opinion, I think we're king at that. I'm not saying we're perfect either, but we strive really hard in this category, so that will never be lost on us. Cid, what settings and program are you using? You said you're recording them with FRAPS? I assume 60FPS and you're not getting any frame drops (not that these are intensive like a game is). What are you editing them in, what codec, container and bitrate (video and audio)? We cam talk about it on steam if you need help with this stuff.
  8. No I've heard of it, but I'll just leave it at that. :P
  9. They're kept in a temporary location in the LaunchBox folder and deleted afterwards because they are temp.
  10. You can create and add anything you want, nothing stops that, but the System name needs to be scrapeable and custom system names aren't scrapeable so it will be hard having the scraper add metadata and media. If it does find a game, it will then try and "fix" the platform to where it found the data from. Without creating a new platform, Custom Filters and a Favorites system already exist and very easily do this without re-importing anything.
  11. That is a controller driver error not an XML error. Switching the way we handle the XML's will not improve or change anything significantly if at all. Actually, loading times when you're in LaunchBox would take longer if the XML was split up.
  12. On the surface, I guess not right? We are however a full fledged Front End, and we cover pretty much everything with rapid growth and development. We have LaunchBox and BigBox which are the two main faces. Think of them as two sides to the same coin, mouse and keyboard or a controller approach. We have our own Database that people can contribute to, I think we have more flexibility and more power while being a lot more simple to use. We support tons of images, video from EmuMovies and a lot more. We have demo's and tutorials on our YouTube channel if you are interested. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask!
  13. gizmo said hi many thanks for your replys , what i was doing just before it crashed i was trying to load some Commodore - VIC-20 , at the moment i have lost about 1 months work so a bit fed up at the moment but i will have another go some time with launchbox just got to sort out some games etc thanks That's why if you sort the XML files in your backup folder by date and choose the most recent XML file and replace your broken XML file with that back up as Derek suggested, then it should work and not set you back as far.
  14. Did you clear the BigBox cache in the options @kmoney2315?
  15. Are you on the latest beta? We are having some bugs with the Metadata and Media downloader from the Tools menu. However, if a system is not using the default names then it won't scrape as well if at all. The internet doesn't have system called "ShmupMAME", and it's actually not even called MAME in LaunchBox but rather just Arcade. Even if you tell it to use the right roms, which is hard for MAME unless you know the exact ones you need, LaunchBox filters the entire MAME set automatically to only import based on your check boxes and region selections during the special MAME Importer. That said, it still can find games if the platform is wrong automatically, but then it will try and fix the platform so then your game is no longer in the special category you made. We do have it in the plans to create a feature called "Scrape as" for this very reason. So you can have a system be called what ever you want, and scrape it as a specific system the internet knows how to deal with. In the mean time Custom Filters would work wonders in this case as it's very powerful and you can easily get your desired results from it.
  16. In this case I would suggest trying out Custom Filters and using the favorite system already in place in LaunchBox. You can even sort by favorites so they show up on top. MAME has issues when you separate the roms. LaunchBox knows what it needs to run each game because the MAME Internal Database has told us. So if you move a game over you need to move over all the correct rom files for that specific game. That's why when you import MAME it uses the custom importer, and why not every single archive file = a game inside of LaunchBox.
  17. If the creator of the themes specifically says they are ok with this then so would I. The fact is none of us really own any of this except for the hard work we've put in to it, and you've done some hard work yourself getting them ported over. In reality, we do want to stand completely on our own from anyone or anything else and I think we've done that in spades.
  18. You can manually type in anything. All you need to do is run the importer, type in your custom platform, then select the folder for your games. Don't forget to check the box to force the mame importer as well on the last page with the check boxes.
  19. LaunchBox simply doesn't function like that. We one day want to be able to flesh out My Collections a bit more, but about 5 months ago the community has a resounding answer: Do not spend anymore time on this! It was almost unanimous. We've still made improvements to the Database, and more are coming with the next release in terms of connection between LaunchBox and the Database, but we don't really have the interest in developing that section of our software if the majority of the community doesn't want it. Derek is correct in that it would still be just as much work to deal with it on the web as it would be in LB because there still needs to be a system in place that moves around the instructions. We could launch games through the web and do a lot of similar things from the web as you can do in LB, but maybe one day. Also, if you want LaunchBox to choose random games for you to play, that function already exists. Tools -> Select Random Game, and it will select a random game from the view you are looking at.
  20. That's the thing, nothing happens. We talked about this the other day on Slack when I was trying to get the Theme Demo out.
  21. Can you replace that gradient with an image? An image from Photoshop might be what you're looking for. Past that, I don't really know the code. Visual Studio I know makes things a lot easier to work with.
  22. Drybonz said Jason Carr said @Drybonz I hope nothing broke more than it was supposed to. ;) What happened exactly? Hey Jason, I had multiple platforms that were missing pictures, and I believe it was because I had renamed those platforms. When the image folder shuffle hit, those platforms never got back to normal, so I just had to manually move things around. I got it all straightened out last night. As far as the vertical theme, I'm hoping someone does come up with one. I find myself with at least one monitor in vertical orientation most of the time, these days. I tried one of the user themes last night and it didn't seem to work. I'll take another look at it later. The vertical theme the user is working on: https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/collections/bigbox-user-create-theme-mega-thread-share-your-custom-made-themes/page-3#p20332 Switching themes does seem to be broken.
  23. Yea this is why I keep the rar's from the site, just so I can pull out a clean config when needed.
  24. There's only a handful of 64DD games. It's less than the Virtual Boy I think, if you count officially released.
