  1. Try updating to the latest nightly or go back a few days instead and see if that happens to fix that problem. As another potential step, download IOBit Driver Booster and run that, see if it comes up with any out of date drivers and let it update. This way we can for sure rule out any bad drivers.

Well I am glad it's fixed. Also, I use the Mednafen PS1 core in RetroArch usually. The HW core is actually broken from the last I remember, it's their Vulkan Renderer along with the N64 core. They're coming along nicely, but are still off and not really fully there.
  3. Those are leftovers from the GamesDB conversion and just haven't been fixed up yet. However, this scenario should already be in the guidelines, so.
  4. Yea, I have mine set to 4GB as well, I have 32GB. If you have at least 12GB+ you should be fine setting it to 2-4GB. You may not see a big increase from 2 to 4, but I want to double back to something: this isn't changing the cache size at all. The cache size is what ever the cache size it, which is very large. This doesn't effect anything with the Cache directly, only that more is loaded in to RAM first before requiring the cache. It's just simply a ram usage increase. I just want to repeat that point.
  5. Ah, sweet. I was on the right track, but I missed that specific bit (I don't watch the live streams X_X). That does make sense though, but it is upping the amount of RAM LaunchBox uses, so if a system has low RAM then make sure to keep it in check. 512 is rather low, but if you are on a 4GB system, that eats up a lot of valuable ram.
  6. Well we never threw the idea out, but it is extremely complicated, that being one of many reasons. It is still a long term goal, but that's why it's long term. We're not exactly certain how to solve certain problems. Never say never though.
  7. I don't recall that being the case, but that could be true. The MB selector in the options is for what LaunchBox uses for RAM though, not it's cache size. It can effect not needing to call from the hard drive as often, but it doesn't increase the cache size it's self.
  8. The only thing I could think that would affect that is the cache, because that's pretty much always been directly cache related. Have you tried resetting your cache in the options? You can also manually delete the cache folder as well. It could still be related to the cache, even if resetting it doesn't fix it, the hard drive could be failing in the sector that the cache is on, so changing your LB location could also be a potential step. @Jason Carr is this ringing any bells for you?

Then maybe your frame limiter is not on.
  10. Then sure, in this case that's what it should probably be called.
  11. There are too many to list in standard mame, so I couldn't tell you off-hand. Lightspeed may help, but I honestly don't know what's been done with it recently or if it was fixed. Check out the last few posts from him and see if said anything about it being good to go, because it was broken for a little while there. As far as I know, Laser Disc games are not in the default MAME set, but I could be wrong. There's still a few tutorials related to other arcade stuff I need to get done. Concerning Pac-Land, do you have a merged set or a split set?

Nope, not a typo at all. Disk refers to floppy disks and disc is an optical disc. Parasite Eve 2, if I recall, has issues being emulated on non-official hardware.
  13. It doesn't matter how it looks on the box, but what Nintendo called it in print, and they titled it with Super Mario Advance first. That's usually not something that gets debated, because it's a fairly closed discussion honestly. We also do have Alternate Names in place on the database. Also, you are right, accuracy is certainly important, but our Database serves LaunchBox as the end goal, and no amount of alternate names can make Windows display certain characters, so Ranma 1/2 for example, gets 1/2 spelt out like that instead of a superscript 1/2.
  14. Oh yea, that was something we thought of day 0, before our database was even public. That is for sure a long term goal, allow users to upload from within LaunchBox.
  15. I generally prefer to keep to what's on the box, and then based-ish off the No-Intro set myself. With - taking the place of : in Windows because it has to. There is also an accurate way to spell something and in what order according to the Developers. I believe in the Mario Bros 2 case, Super Mario Advance 3 comes before the unique titles to denote that it's apart of the Mario Advance Series. So it's not exactly the easiest thing, what's on the box is generally what to go by, but sometimes it's written on the box differently than what the developer does with it, and No-Intro may have something different as well. The only reason I like it close to the No-Intro style is for scraping. Those are the sets we recommend the most for ease of use, so It would stand to reason that a lot of users use them. However, what ever the box / developer says still takes precedent in the long run. Scrapability needs to be number 1 priority, and LaunchBox, for the most part, ignores - and : for a reason.
  16. Load up a game, make your controller changes, go to the first tab and go to Configurations -> Save New Config. It will create a new config file based on the core you loaded. Then go to the Edit Emulators page in LaunchBox, edit RetroArch, and in the associated platforms view, double click the N64 line. After the -L command (after the quotations), add -C "config\name of the config.cfg" and it will load that config each time you load a game. With that core loaded though, remember that any change you make will only apply to that config file, your RetroArch.cfg and any other custom config you make need to be configed separately (Retro Achievements comes to mind as that was last weeks tutorial). I am debating on this weeks tutorial being Custom Configs or Cheats in RetroArch.
  17. The Database is currently only in English, and the alternate names feature was just recently implemented. LaunchBox doesn't currently parse these extra names, but it's coming. So you can attach other regions names to an entry, but LaunchBox only looks at the current facing name. There are Guidelines as well for submissions and moderation on the Database in the Database section of our forums. If you do want to contribute please read over these guidelines.
  18. Well MobyGames support could always come, but for the time being working on 7.0 and on our own database is priority. Honestly, Wikipedia scraping is mostly broken, it's left there currently as a left over, and just in case someone does want to use it. It actually confuses the scraper a bit when checked, so I never check it anymore.
  19. Lets try and keep it civil please, no one is demanding, and I get the curiosity. Honestly, we just don't have the time to work on their API right now. It being in Alpha is great, but that would require a lot of extra work on our part. There are also a lot of things behind the scenes that need to be done, so it's honestly not very simple. I am sorry if that is a coy answer, but it needs to be one. As for the issues with scraping, I would take a look at the Database manually. SNES is one of the most complete sets we have. If you have a No-Intro set of games, then most of those should get found, with some exceptions. We are lacking on a lot of Japanese games, but compared to even 3 or 4 months ago, we've gained a lot. We've had over 2 million changes made to the Database in a year, that is astounding and we are continuing at that pace. @FistyDollars is correct in saying though that we've had to rely on others in the past and it bit us in the rear. The LaunchBox Games Database is our bet because we can assure that it will be online for as long as we need or want it to be. We completely trust and love EmuMovies, but the only thing we can promise for sure, forever, is something we control, if that makes sense (it's not meant to be a dig at anyone). So that's partly why we've banked on the Database for over a year now, and with @Vlansix working on it, it's becoming one hell of an asset we need to keep going with. I'll never say that we wont use the API, but I will say that our Database needs to be our focus. Jason has been working on 7.0, and the database is certainly getting up in shape now as well. It's going to be the same answer for why any feature doesn't get implemented as fast as someone would like, and it's because Jason is working on most everything alone, with the exception of the Database, but Alex donates his time. We would of course love every feature to be implemented right away, but I hope you can understand the position we're in.
  20. If you load up a custom config (Save new config, then use the -C Command in the associated platforms to call the config, like -C "config/<insert config name>"), set the controls the way you want them in the User 1 Binds area, it should save and load them up specifically each time. I have my N64 core set to load a custom config which has special controls set for a USB N64 controller. My potential theory is because it is a PS4 controller, and it's supposed to automatically get set each time. If you create the custom config, and load it each time though you should be good to go.

In most emulators you can also save state, load up the second disc, save state load and it goes on from there as well. Also, multi-disc games do get combined now, depending on the language. Game (Disc 1), Game (Disc 2), Game (Disk 1), Game (Disk 2), Game (Disc 1 of 2), Game (Disc 2 of 2), etc. The only thing not caught right now is Side 1 or A, or Disc A etc. There's only a few cases where it wont merge, but it import it all, and as long as the proper words are in the brackets you're good to go.
  22. He knows about the bug, he just hasn't gotten to it quite yet. I can't put up any of our content either. Thank you for letting us know though @Maddoc1007.
  23. Alex and Jason are still working on adding more functionality to the Database, but currently there isn't an effective way to communicate to moderators except for the forums or the discord server.
  24. Unfortunately it's because Foot and Pi are contained within Adidas Championship Football, and since they don't have entries on their own the scraper assumed they were that, as it's trying to make guesses. The initial import is very strict, however those words are just really short and confused it. The best way to remedy this in the long run is to have someone add those entries on the LaunchBox Games Database.
