  1. Edit the emulator, check the associated platforms tab. Double check the name and the default command line parameter for Genesis. Make sure the name here in Associated Platforms matches the name of your platform on the left panel in LaunchBox, and make sure the command line is still accurate. There are 2-3 cores for Genesis available, so if the command line is set to the core you were using before, try a different one.
  2. Ah, that would make sense. It seems SE, on the back end for mods, is causing unintended issues. It's actually an interesting story for me.
  3. Switching profiles works, but it's extremely buggy at times. They've even admitted that NMM is getting buggier and buggier over time due to it's very outdated and taped together code. I hardly use Water Mods, but I have used realistic lighting in the past, and I just let LOOT do it's thing. Unless I know something is off and I need to change it, I personally never do and it's worked fine so far. The beauty of LOOT is it does get updated often, those masterlist updates are supposed to help with issues like that.
  4. Also, I did a tutorial on Additional Apps which is one of the tabs, and I do think that several of these are self explanatory, especially once you get in there. The only confusing one is Custom Fields, but it's exactly what it sounds like, making custom fields and metadata for that game.
  5. Well you're not gonna really break anything, so if you do want to experiment then go for it!
  6. Yea, mods are wonderful, but I've lost dozens of hours trying to get my modded systems up and running. I also agree with Monkus, using a mod manager like the Nexus Mod Manager is wildly more powerful, and easier to use in some regards. The NMM is also getting completely overhauled from the ground up too, so lets hope that profile switching, among other things, will work well! There are way more mods on NMM than Steam and the Bethesda site combined, and I don't think they're doing the Workshop for the Special Edition. There are a few things that are almost required, besides NMM, make sure to get LOOT so that it can sort your mods properly based on master lists. This is almost required, as load order is a very big pain in the ass. NMM must be closed for it to work too. Also grab the Unofficial Patches for each of the games you want to mod (In the Bethesda-verse).
  7. Currently, yea, lets try and match the facing date to the facing name, and if we are unsure if a facing name is correct when trying to set a date, that user could look in to that as well, as I am confident there are tons of games that will need to be fixed up. That said, Alternate Dates are planned as well, so dates can be set to regions, like names now can.
  8. When it was revealed I did one, and for this coming Tuesday's RSS I did an update for it saying that its available for purchase. Yea, this is really expensive, but so are AES and MVS games, so you can either get Metal Slug, or a flash cart for $680 less.
  9. Not specifically, but I am more than happy to make tutorials on features that need a bit of explaining. I can do a compilation of a bunch of smaller features too.
  10. I've done two stories on this thing now. It's pretty awesome.
  11. I honestly don't remember anymore. I could have sworn it had something to do with region stuff, but I really don't remember anymore.
  12. Are these games which have audio files along side the bin / cue files? If so, for RetroArch, these need to be in a specific file format (I can't remember which one, I believe MP3), for which you can just do a simple conversion for, or the games could be bad rips. If you could try and find another rip, convert the audio files if they have them to the format RetroArch likes, or find a rip that doesn't have the audio files, then that could work. As a test, I got Nexzr to run, and it was a ccd / img combo. I kind of lied in the tutorial (actually I thought it was true at the time), but I do actually have some ccd games. My version of Nexzr doesn't have any audio files, and it launched just fine, so I am leaning towards a potentially bad rip.
  13. Most emulators should fit to any resolution you desire. However, if you try and play systems who's aspect ratio is wildly different (like PSP or DS), then you're gonna get letter boxing. So if you keep the aspect ratio options turned on to enforce aspect ratio correctness, then keep this in mind. For most systems, there won't be too much of an issue, the ratio mismatch wont be big enough for you to spot it, or you can turn on stretching for the close enough systems to make it completely fill in the screen, and the image shouldn't stretch in too many odd ways. This will just need to be something for you to play around with. LaunchBox and Big Box should work in a 4:3 environment right away, but like @lordmonkus said, there is a 4:3 tailored Theme here on the site that someone has created, that helps Big Box display properly in 4:3. The program will shape it's self to any aspect ratio, but it is built with a widescreen format in mind.
  14. So this thread is for forum issues, not LaunchBox or Database issues. LaunchBox / Big Box and Forums have their own threads.
  15. I agree, it could be a bad rip or the compatibility is poor, but just to take it a step further, just in case, since you said you added and changed hardware, make sure all your Drivers are up to date with IOBit Driver Booster. Also, check and see if you are on the latest Dolphin revision.
  16. I think this is meant for the LaunchBox Beta Thread, not for the forum bug tracking.
  17. Sweet, these are appreciated, they're amazing. You, or anyone else, are more than welcome to upload these to the Database as well, just PLEASE make sure you use the Reconstructed Front Fox Art category as these are not official box arts.
  18. Media will automatically get added in to LaunchBox, if it's in the proper folders, and if it's named properly. LB picks it up if it's named after the entry inside of LauchBox or the file names as well. The most common situation will be that the media will be named after the game name inside of LaunchBox as most users use the Metadata and Media downloaders to download all of their metadata, images, and from EmuMovies, images, music, manuals and video. If you have a pack, and it's named after the rom files, just drop it in and you should be good to go.
  19. I do believe that error to be related to games that LaunchBox can't parse and combine, and Jason is aware of it as well, and needs to add in the rest of the combination rules and or look more closely at that bug.
  20. There are going to be some games that are going to have a lot more than 4 names, Pokemon is translated in to at least 7 or 8 languages. As well, 'Fan Translated' should be it's own category, but not 'English Fan Translated' or what ever, because more and more games are getting translated in to more and more languages. That said, Alex is right, this should carry over in to the Database Development Thread instead of the Guidelines thread, unless there are some Guideline concerns.
  21. Backup the 'BigBoxSettings.xml' in your Data folder, then delete the original. I would also try and set the permissions for the LB folder if you can.
  22. I've seen lots of people report this sort of thing for various versions, so I am unsure at this point.
  23. I would try outside of the C drive as there can be some odd permission issues.
  24. So I am an avid bundle go-er, and one of the sites I love to get bundles from currently has one, with a tier that has Amiga Forever in it, which is a premium and advanced Amiga emulator, where you can get legal Kickstart roms. You can find the bundle here, and from the bundle site, please keep this in mind: Here is also some info about Amiga Forever 2016 from the bundle site as well:
