This is still Jason's show last time I checked and basically based on all the other software I used I've never been offered a user poll to pick features anywhere else so I say that that unto itself is something unheard of. So anyone questioning what he chooses to work on 1st should take a step back and relax. Shit most of the features I wanted (that would add functionality) didn't even make it into the top 20 but you don't hear me crying because LB isn't about me and at the end of the day I as an individual have no say in what gets done around here and basically neither does anyone else except Jason. Hopefully this isn't the last poll we get offered due to all the negative feedback on the results.

I have no experience with MSX 2 or any other version. What issue are you having with CPS3 we will need more details?
-
@Charco just because it says the bios is present that doesn't mean its the matching md5 that is why I'm asking him to check it out before the dumps which would be the next logical steps. As for MD5 check I believe NotePad++ has it as a feature. If not google is your friend.
-
have you tried just switching to the SuperGrfx core instead. Also you may want to run a MD5 check on the file and see it matches the numbers shown in your image
-
LaunchBox has no videos for games and there isn't any plans to add them as far as I know. As for EmuMovies that is a question better asked over on their forums probably.
-
Even if its is reporting that it is there it could be a bad file really don't know until you do a MD5 check.
-
If you want bezels for every system you still will have to keep using RL anyway LB isn't getting bezel support
-
I've researched the same thing a little and from what is out there I don't believe they will do what you want they will only control audio.
-
There is also no bounty system as in a community where we use democracy to choose features would be seriously tainted if users could just pay to have their feature pushed to the top of the priority list.

LB uses the data from the latest version of MAME but you can import any set you want you can still use the MAME importer if you want but then you might get entries for working games that you don't even have in your ROM set. You can just import MAME the old fashion way and just drag and drop the ROMs into LB then it will start the regular import and will only import the working games that you have.
-
I personally would get rid of my other ROMs and just use these as my platform Atari 2600. Not really looking to use these in conjunction with other ROM sets but instead of.
-
If you got to manage emulators and edit RetroArch then go to the Associated Platform tab is Nintendo 64's default setting set to use the core same core that you have? If not then use the drop down menu to change the core to your core.

"What is a Software List? Prior to MAME v0.162, MAME had a sister application called MESS (the Multi Emulator Super System) which attempted to do for Consoles, Computers and Handheld devices what MAME was doing for Arcade Machines. Version 0.162 saw these two applications merged into a single app dropping the MESS name in the process. If you are emulating a console or a computer you will need software to put into it. That is what Software lists are for. They are a curated list of the available software for an emulated (formally MESS) system core. There are two common set online Software List ROMs and Software List CHDs. If you managed to get all the way to here (well done!) you should know what both of those are now." Software List for MAME are basically ROMS for consoles, computers and handhelds. The biggest issue is that they are named in a MAMEesque file naming stucture and when imported into LB they won't be recognized as any of the games or match with any metadata. This is one of the options on the latest poll but unfortunately it seems to be below the cutoff point and won't be making it into the program with this round of feature improvements. This is unfortunate as they would offer a plethora of good things to the end user. For one its an easy obtainable source of ROMs as it is released every month at PleasureDome the same time that the MAME update is released so its pretty readily available. Secondly the SWL contain parents and clones of ROMs which are all identified through the xml files located in the hash folder of your MAME install. This means for those users that like to have different regions of games and prototypes and all that is already included in these sets. Meaning that if LB was to be able to read those xml files it could add the games as additional apps for the parent automatically the same way that it does for the arcade portion of MAME. Thirdly all the SWL CHDs for things like Sega/Mega CD PS1 TurboGraphic/PC Engine CD Saturn Dreamcast would already be available to the end user without converting any files in the smallest compression format currently available. Also since I've brought up disk space the SWL for carts and floppys are also already in the same compressed format that your MAME ROMs are in. Lastly SWL Roms work outside of MAME with other emulators so even if a system doesn't work in MAME you can still use the ROMs in other emulators. Currently the SWL consist of 515 systems (or that is how many individual folders the torrent has) and the SWL CHD set consist of 30 folders (but is over 2TB in size) of course any systems you aren't interested in can easily be deleted if you don't care about keeping your set up to date with what MAME has in it (I do I know many do not care at all). Obviously at this point this isn't going to make the cut so I was hoping that maybe someone on here would read this and realize what the addition of SWL support could offer the users and that if possible someone that has a little coding skills might be interested in attempting to make a plugin that utilizes the hash folder in MAME to use the xml files to match the title with the ROM name and use the parent clone data to populate the additional apps. Logistically it would probably need to support a region priority that would override the parent clone relationship and make clones the facing game if they matched your regional preference thus making the parent one of the additional apps instead. Don't know if anyone is capable or willing to do so, shit I don't even really know if a plugin is capable of doing so in the program. I just know I would love to see this supported so I could delete a lot of my ROMs and just use the SWL sets that I keep to have MAME up to date.

I've had it happen where canceling an update has made LB not able to run in the past. I'm pretty sure I went into the updates folder and ran the update again and it fixed it for me.

have you tried switching views in the theme. I think by default the V key on your keyboard will cycle through the themes views.

While Demul can be more troublesome to setup it still at this point is the best DC emulator. It also covers a few different Arcade boards (Naomi Naomi 2 Sammy Atomiswave Sega Hikaru Gaelco and Cave stuff) so if you are going to bother to set them up anyway you might as well use if for DC also.

Emulating Consoles/Computers via MAME inside Launchbox
DOS76 replied to andreasrocha's topic in Noobs
don't know anything about Spectrum but that is the correct syntax for the SNES portion. Are your games compressed by anychance and maybe MAME would want a non-MAME rom like that to be unzipped assuming you aren't using the Software List ROMs -
I see the difference between this and the new feature that will allow you to force it before the 24 hour period. As you want it to do it auto at night so you don't have to wait for it to refresh. I mean you can go to help & support in the header of this site and request it but to be honest with the poll happening any other features beside the ones on that get the most votes will probably be on the back burner for a while.
-
Probably a little late to change anything at this point
-
definitely sounds reasonable and should work that way but when its wrong that is how you can fix it.
-
Okay on import I could see them not being combined as they don't have the same title due to the III. I'm confused by the however sentence though what do you mean they are combined during consolidate? Do you mean a manual consolidate because during a manual consolidation you can combine any games you want even if they have nothing to do with each other.

I do want to say as I haven't been keeping this updated with the new comics each week. Navigating through it and reading comics is fast but needing to add or edit anything is way to slow at this point. It can take upwards of 10 minutes for LB to add just one new comic so I've sort of given up on it.
-
besides editing the game and going to the additional apps tab and changing the default facing game there isn't really much you can do about it.
