  1. Agreed, there should be an obvious link to the guidelines prominently placed in the LaunchBox GamesDB website. Or better yet, just a proper guidelines page. It's been a while now, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. And I didn't even realize you can't download the guidelines. That's kind of odd. (Hell, I'm tempted to just manually transcribe a copy, but I'd prefer to not have to)
  2. So what about the majority of people who don't use the "Hyperspin" roms? Should they be inconvenienced and have their romset split in two? No-Intro doesn't split their roms, and they're the most important romset out there, I'd be willing to argue.
  3. @Zombeaver And now it's working just fine, and I didn't change anything. Weird. Never mind, I guess!
  4. Controller Automation is broken in 6.9 beta 3 for me; I can't exit an emulator by pressing back and start on the 360 controller simultaneously like I used to.
  5. Click "add" in the bottom right of Launchbox. When the blank window pops up, click browse next to Application Path, then point it at the .exe for MK. Also, if you want metadata, type in Mortal Kombat at the top, make sure the platform is listed as Windows, and then click Search for Metadata. That should be all you need to do.
  6. @Jason Carr The problem seems to be cropping up again. There are quite a few games I recently deleted that re-appeared in the database, only without the images that they had. Same issue as before.
  7. They're the same system, why would we separate them?
  8. It's not time efficient, but between the Steam and Windows Game importers, there typically aren't many games left over. Strange about the shortcut dragging, though. I don't normally use the dragging functionality of LaunchBox, so I wasn't even aware that was an issue.
  9. This all seems way over-complicated. The process I've always done for Windows games (that can't just be imported from Steam or Windows Game Importer) is to just click the Add button at the bottom right of LaunchBox, which will make a nearly blank Add Game screen pop-up. From there, change the platform to Windows if it isn't already, and then go to "Application Path" and click Browse. Find the .exe or whatever you use to launch the game (it can be a .bat if you need, I do that for my eXoDOS imported games), and then type the game name in at the top. If you want, you can then search for the game in the LaunchBox Games Database and try to match it. Download or add any images you want, then just click OK. You never need to even touch the emulator field, or really any other fields for that matter. No need to create custom shortcuts or batch files or anything crazy like that.
  10. I'd be surprised if it added PS4 support. Sony views the PC as a competitor to the PS4, but not the PS3 (and rightfully so, considering the huge amount of ps3 exclusives and the fact that emulation for the system is still in it's infancy) so it doesn't make sense to allow you to play ps4 games without owning a ps4. I expect that they'll enable streaming games to your pc from your own ps4, however.
  11. We could call it "Earth Bound", yeah, but you submitted that it be changed to "Earthbound", which is the name of the SNES game.
  12. Sorry, but it shouldn't be called Earthbound either. The only official names ever given to it by Nintendo are "Mother" and "Earthbound Beginnings", and when it was planned for a U.S. release it was tentatively called "Earth Bound." So that's why I rejected the change. Earthbound Zero isn't correct, but neither is Earthbound. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_(video_game)
  13. I'd imagine it could be mapped to the mouse, which DesMume allows as a stylus control.
  14. What if, and bear in mind I have no idea if this is practical or not but hear me out, we had the platform still be named "Arcade" BUT we had a field in the database for what emulator supported it i.e. MAME/Model 2/Taito Type X/Daphne? Because I'd much rather keep all my arcade games under one category (and considering the massive hardware differences between arcade cabinets, we'd have hundreds of mini-platforms if we were just distinguishing them based on what hardware they used.) Just my two cents, but I can't see a better way of handling this issue.
  15. I'm definitely more excited for that DualShock 4 adapter. I've had mixed results using the DualShock 4 on my PC before, and having an actual first party solution would be AMAZING. That D-pad is one of the best I've ever used, and I can't wait to try it out on some classic gaming. (And I have to imagine that touchpad would make DS emulation a lot easier)
  16. Jim is the best. Also, I use The Gamer's Post to aggregate a bunch of sites at once. It's free and totally customizable.
  17. Over the past day I've been getting a bug any time I click any notification; when it tries to load a post it's notifying me about I just get a message saying the page isn't found, Error code: 1S160/2
  18. Could you share how you're doing that? I've got an un-upgraded Vita as well, and that looks awesome!
  19. I'm running a GTX 970, and I love it. Plus I'll get all that sweet class-action lawsuit cash soon Seriously though, great card. Handles anything I've thrown at it, and then some. My only problem with it is that it was literally an INCH too long, so I had to buy a new freaking case just to fit it.
  20. Ha, didn't realize this thread existed. I'm over HERE on Steam, and I'm FistyDollars on Sony PS3/4/Vita Hey @Jason Carr, do the new forums allow for us to have our Steam/XBLA/PSN tags listed in our profiles? I've seen it on other forums before.
