  1. So, next question: is it fixable at the user level, or do we need to wait for a fix from @Jason Carr?
  2. So with the new beta, my platforms are ordered like this, and I have absolutely no idea why, or how to fix it.
  3. Ooh, can't wait to test the manual combining. You rock as always, @Jason Carr!
  4. Streets of Rage Remake is, to me at least, the gold standard of fangames, and well worth checking out: Cannonball is not "technically" a fangame, but it's a reverse-engineered, ported, and vastly upgraded version of OutRun: Super Mario Bros. X was basically Mario Maker before Mario Maker was a thing: Power Bomberman is...ridiculous. It's up to 12 player Bomberman, and just an absurd amount of content: DoomRL takes the crazy idea of mixing DOOM with a RogueLike to it's beautiful conclusion: Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch is...exactly what it sounds like. Take a look: If you're looking for a more traditional Mega Man game, I've got you covered with Mega Man Unlimited: What's that? You like a different blue action hero? Alright, well here's Sonic After the Sequel to blow your mind: (Sonic Before the Sequel is also worth checking out) Those are the big ones that come to mind. I'm sure I'm missing a few, but such is life.
  5. Yeah, that's why we were pushing so hard to get alternate names implemented in the GamesDB, so that they could be used when a feature like this was implemented. Now that alternate names are implemented, it would make sense for LaunchBox to scrape those as well when matching regional versions of roms.
  6. To follow up on what Feez is saying, is there a way to manually combine roms, or do you have to do it during importing, and hope it takes?
  7. Well it doesn't help that @Vlansix and @Kirsten Marie seem to have dropped off the face of the earth, and @Jason Carr is (understandably) focused on the part of the program that actually makes him any money. Dunno what to tell you. I'm doing what I can, but I don't have the same free time to contribute that I used to, and I'd hoped we'd have built up a bigger moderation team by now.
  8. I think the best way to track this would be if @Freestate could put the remaining unsubmitted games into a Google Sheet, and post the link here. Then as we submit them, we could comment on the particular game that we submitted.
  9. Thanks, @CriticalCid, and great job @Aurel, @davyfreeman and @madfox for all the amazing boxes!
  10. Love it! I hope it all gets uploaded to the Database, so the whole LaunchBox community can benefit from it!
  11. Update (once more with feeling): Quite a few games haven't been deleted. I'm away from my PC, so I can't list them as easily, but it seems that the deletion bug is well and truly back, and happening more often than it's not happening. Also, moderation has become really slow again. But at least Double Dragon IV was announced, so there's still hope for the world :-D
  12. I double checked Bigfish's website, there was no mention of it. Weird. If you can get me some info on the PC release, I can make an entry on the database for it. I'll take care of the Korean game, thanks for modifying it.
  13. Slight issue: the game Eojjeonji Joheun Il-i Saenggil Geot Gateun Jeonyeok appears to have only been released for DOS, not Windows. I can't in good conscience submit a box that says "Windows" on it for a DOS game, so the box will need modifying. Also, the game "Fairway Solitaire" doesn't appear to have a PC version available, just Android and iPhone.
  14. I like the idea of having a GamesDB channel on the Discord, it'd be good to not have to make a thread for every problem.
  15. Update (again): two more games need manual deletion - Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (a duplicate of another entry with the same name), and NewerNSMBW 1.1.1, which as I've stated elsewhere, is so obviously wrong that I can't believe it got added.
  16. Good catch, I didn't see that logo. I'm pretty sure they're being directly pulled from here, it's where I've been getting a lot of the WiiWare game information I've been submitting.
  17. I guess my point is this: for most pre-Xbox 360/PS3 consoles, the odds are VERY good that upwards of 98% of all games that existed for that system already have entries in the database. So if someone is submitting a game for that system, there's a high chance that they've overlooked an existing entry. When you see a new game submission like this, be wary. If you're not sure, skip it. We're not foolproof, but we've been doing this for a good while, and we're building on the backs of TheGamesDB, who did it for a fair amount of time. By the way, there is a game from the 8/16-bit era that I've deliberately left un-deleted, just to see if anyone ever catches that it doesn't belong (and also because selfishly, I like it a lot). So far, no one has.
  18. The most recent one is "4x4 World Trophy" for Sony PlayStation. There was no entry for it in the db, but googling it would have revealed that it was the European release of Test Drive Off-Road 3, which already was in the db. Biohazard 1, 2, and 3 were approved by others despite my rejection, because no one bothered to see that they were the Japanese names of the Resident Evil series. These are just a couple off the top of my head. There've been quite a few.
  19. Would whoever keeps submitting a bunch of romhacked versions of New Super Mario Bros. for Wii please cut it out? I'm just going to submit them for deletion if they get added. Also, would the rest of the moderation team please try and do a better job at filtering out games that shouldn't be added? I had to recently weed through a bunch of games that I specifically remember personally rejecting, but were added anyway due to moderators accepting anything that seems vaguely legitimate. Come on guys, if you're not sure, and can't be bothered to check, just hit the Skip button, instead of automatically just accepting.

    Christmas

I've had my eyes on one of these for a while now, that'd probably be my top pick. I've got a pretty big physical NES collection, so it'd be nice to get some use out of them.
  21. Like others have said, I keep them with the regular Sega CD games. Makes sense to have all the disk images together.
  22. Hey, gotta test out the new comment system somehow, right? (sorry about your coffee)
  23. Well, that or @Vlansix reads this very thread and fixes the issue.
