    Retroarch?

Lol. You will get the hang of Retroarch quickly enough. I know when I first started using it I found it confusing but I stuck with it and now I can have a fresh install up and running fully in about 5 minutes with all settings and everything.

    Retroarch?

Did you put your bios files in the system folder ?

    Retroarch?

If there is no Mednafen Saturn core showing in the Core Updater try Updating Core Info Files in the same menu as the Core Updater.
  4. Lordmonkus

    Retroarch?

    Yeah that should be fine.

    Retroarch?

Yes it does. I only use the stable builds and just update the cores. I would just delete the Retroarch folder you have and start fresh since you are only just starting out. I also label my Retroarch installs by version number such as "Retroarch 1.3.6" and then when a new stable build comes out I put that in a new folder with the version name. This way if a new version is broke in some way I can easily revert back to my old install.

    Retroarch?

Get rid of the nightly build and get the stable 1.3.6.

    Retroarch?

Go to the cogwheel looking menu at the top then go down til you see "Configuration" in there is the config per core setting. Yes with the hold button and button 8. Whatever you have your set to should close RA as well. If you have it set to dual analog it should be fine for every game anyways since the dual analog controller used the dpad as well.

    Retroarch?

It could be because of the nightly but I have no idea. To get your analog stick working in PS1 games when you have a game loaded bring up the quick menu by either pressing F1 on the keyboard or the XBox button on your controller, then go to controls. Change User 1 Device Type to Dual Analog. To exit the games using the controller you can either use Launchboxs Controller Automation feature if you have the premium version. If not you can bring up the quick menu and and exit Retroarch using the Retroarch menu. Another tip if you haven't done so already turn on the Per Core settings in the Configuration settings.
  9. Yeah there are lot's of ways to find games of course. Usually when I search for bets or top games for systems i find a lot of subjective lists or top 10s listing just the ones everyone knows of. Now of course this site is subjective too but doing a quick skim over it, it seems to list games that are at least somewhat decent and playable and not absolute shit. For example I took a look at the 3DO list and while I wouldn't play a lot of the games listed they are at least playable games.
  10. I came across a site tonight and thought it fit in well with this threads discussion. For people looking to get into a collection for systems they simply don't know much about or where to begin. You could always grab an entire library and try out every game but for some systems that really kind of on the crazy side. So here is a good site with recommended games on a system by system base. Some systems aren't very well represented at all but most are so have a look at systems you aren't sure where to start. http://vsrecommendedgames.wikia.com/wiki//v/'s_Recommended_Games_Wiki

    Retroarch?

Copy the 1.00 US and the 1.01 Jap files to your Retroarch/system folder. Rename the 1.01 jap to sega_101.bin Rename the 1.00 us to mpr-17933.bin That should work if i remember right. I just renamed my SSF bios files and they worked.
  12. Lordmonkus

    Retroarch?

You need bios files named: mpr-17933.bin sega_101.bin sega_100a.bin You may not actually need the last one listed though.

    Retroarch?

You will need bios files for certain systems placed in the /system folder of your Retroarch install folder. In some cases you can just copy over bios files from other emulators but you may need to rename them to match what Retroarch is expecting. Use this page to look up each core and see what bios file/s and naming it wants. http://wiki.libretro.com/index.php?title=Main_Page You do not need to add your roms to Retroarch at all.
  14. I didn't directly explain it in depth in the video because it wasn't meant to be a Launchbox video but I did post my command switches in the video description. Here are my Launchbox command switches: -ss.scanlines 40 -ss.special nn2x -ss.stretch aspect_int -video.driver opengl -video.glvsync 0 -video.blit_timesync 0 -ss.input.port1 3dpad -cd.image_memcache 1 -ss.cart auto

    Retroarch?

In theory yes but it's not up to par yet. It's still a work in progress and has a lot to be done before I would call it usable. Give it a try and see how things work out for you with it though. Just keep your expectations low.
  16. Setting for what ? Do you mean for command line switches ?
  17. Damnit @DOS76I had just gone and google translated it and was typing out the answer
  18. Yeah the games that share the same mainboards and chip sets will be the same and consistent.

    Retroarch?

Not sure. You would have to either try it out or ask over on the Retroarch forums.
  20. It depends on the game and if there is an option for dipswitch settings or not. If there is the option when you press "Tab" to bring up the menu you will see a menu for dipswitch right away then you just go in there and turn service mode on and restart the game. When the game loads up again it should take you into a menu to change different settings. Find and change the one for freeplay, restart the game, re enter the dipswitch service menu and turn off service mode again. If there is no dipswitch option in the "Tab" menu pressing "F2" (default key) should take into service mode for the machine and you can change settings in there. If "F2" doesn't work look in the "Tab" menu > Input (general) > Other Controls. You should find a setting called "Service". This really is something that is game to game and rarely will you find games be the same or even all of them having this feature.

    Retroarch?

Is your controller a wireless or wired ? Mine is wired and Retroarch just auto detects and and everything works without having to do a single thing. I think wireless controllers need to be turned on before the first loading of RA.
  22. Jeez Austin get with the times, I did a video on this 3 weeks ago Just kidding man, love your videos and you do a much better job explaining than I do.
  23. Is it a clone rom ? Make sure at the last step Mame import screen to allow clones, that can sometimes mess with it.
  24. Ahh, im gonna guess / assume it would. Make a backup of your older version and try it out Be a guinea pig lol.
