Glad you got it sorted out. Yeah Mess and Mame have been merged back together officially but because it is open source you can still get up to date versions of Mess that are separate. In fact I actually have a 174 Mess installed just for systems which lack any really good choices in emulator such as NeoGeo CD, Colecovision, Atari 5200 and X68000.

Nah, you didn't sound dismissive. I guess my question was more directed to Jason since he would be the one having to actually do the work I would think it wouldn't be that hard because of like you said all the documented APIs out there.
-
I have suggested this in the past, I even suggested it to Brad and Jason before the new forums as a method for chat. No one seemed particularly interested in it. I think it would be a wonderful idea though, I love Discord.

Try importing with a different emulator and then bulk editing the emulator field after to avoid that Mame importer window. Like I said before, I use Mess for my oddball systems emulator that have no or very little in terms of emulator options. Mess and BizHawk both seem to so Colecovision very well from what I have seen, there could be others but I haven't really looked into them.

Yes, I am fully aware of other products out there and the Kodi plugin and I use Kodi myself with this plugin. I was simply asking the question of how difficult would it be to add in a scraper for people who just want to have a small collection of movies and TV shows in their Launchbox setup without the need of having another program. Obviously Kodi and Plex are much better solutions for larger complex collections.

For now I would use Retroarchs core for games that use the d-pad and for games that use the analog controller use the stand alone Mednafen. The RA core doesn't have analog controller support yet but shouldn't be too much longer. Stand alone Mednafen is in a better state than SSF as long as your disk images are proper.

I can't say for sure but it appears to have been just from loading up the games and playing them. There was an update to the core today.

Ok I think I might know the problem and it has to do with the Mame importer tool. At the screen where you can choose to skip clones, import originals and import all clones, choose to import all clones. I used Mess and not Mame for my emulator so I did not get that screen on my import.
-
Colecovision games should import just fine. I recently imported a full set using Mess as the emulator. The way I do it is open up the folder with all the rom files, select all then drag them into Launchbox and go through the wizard that pops up.

Edit: Nevermind, scrolling down answered my question for me.

Very nice.

Good to know.

You are welcome.

Ok I did a test of this and it works and without going into a full blown tutorial on this because I am by no means an expert at all when it comes to Xpadder here is what I did. In my Launchbox shortcut properties I set a key combo to start it to Alt + F12. Then in Xpadder I set the "back" button on my Xbox 360 controller to toggle while held to "set 2", this is to help minimize the risk of accidentally pressing the key combo to start Launchbox. Then in the "set 2" tab I assigned the "right shoulder" button to "alt" on the keyboard and the "start" button I assigned to "F12" Now when I press "back" + "right shoulder" and "start" on the controller it loads up Launchbox. You can assign any shortcut combo and controller combo in Xpadder you like that doesn't interfere with anything else on your computer.

I haven't done this myself but just off the top of my head you can make a short cut to BigBox, go into the properties and in the short cut key window making a key combo to start it. Then using xpadder you can bind that key combo to a button combo to your controller. You would have to come up with something pretty unique and not something easily pressed accidentally to avoid unwanted accidents. There might be a simpler way though.
-
Cool, glad you figured out a way cause it looks like you can only rebind the hotkeys and not just null them out unfortunately.

Ahh cool, good to know. Hmm it crashes for me when I load it. I downloaded the win64sdl version and set it to opengl rendering. Edit: Nevermind, I was loading the glsl version of Royale-Kurozumi, loaded the cg version even though the emulator is running opengl mode and it's fine.

Looking for some killer psychedelic stoner rock with a bit of a twist ? And by twist I mean one hell of a female vocalist that actually knows how to sing then you gotta check this badassery out.

Like I said, getting full sets for pre 32-bit consoles is just easier than trying to think of the good games and get them. They don't take up much space at all and you never know when someone will say "hey check this game out" and you just fire it up and play it. It's when you get into the 32-bit and beyond like the Playstation and Playstation 2, Saturn and Dreamcast when the collections become massive in drive space requirements.

@DOS76As far as I know the bNes core isn't that well developed. I could be wrong but for Retroarch NES Nestopia and Fceumm are the best. @Jason CarrHave you messed with some oft he sound settings like lowering the audio latency at all ? If you set it too low it can cause sound issues or maybe you are using a shader that it just a bit too heavy on the resources. You could also try turning on Threaded Video to squeeze out a bit of extra performance. There really shouldn't be any sound issues unless a) your system isn't fast enough (i doubt yours is too slow) b) audio latency set too low, 16 causes issues for me on most systems, 24 or 32 is usually good. or c) using a shader that just causes enough of a hit in performance. Turn on your framerate counter to make sure you are getting 60 fps constantly. My guess is you got a setting that is causing the issue, try deleting your config file for those problem cores and see if it makes it run better.
-
Yeah it's a pretty sweet emulator and the shader support is nice even if it doesn't let you use every shader (Royale-Kurozumi and some others don't work). One game I found that doesn't work is Crisis Force but also doesn't work with Retroarchs Nestopia core, the FCEUMM core does work though and another person in another thread that the game works with Mednafens NES core. No Mednafen NES core in Retroarch though.

Oh I agree the for large collections and especially for TV shows with multiple seasons it could get very unwieldy. It also wouldn't become a replacement for Plex or Kodi at all but I think just having for people who just want to have a small collection it would be nice. And of course I would only want to see it if it wasn't too much of a big deal to implement it, I wouldn't want to see other much more needed features pushed back for it.
