  1. I’m sorry that I have to bother you with another feature request but as you already parse the LaunchBox Games Database, would it be possible to add the database ID for each game as well? With the new playlist feature for LaunchBox on the horizon, it would be pretty important to have this info because the playlists are using the ID’s to populate themselves with the right games.
  2. Ah yes, I meant the description. I know that they can be very long that’s why I suggested that they only should get used if there’s really nothing else besides the ROM file name for populating the Additional Apps name. So today I tried to import the Demul games and it seems that Lightspeed can’t properly filter out all games. I checked all filter options (except Mess SoftLists) in the both Filter tabs and only checked the Demul platforms (Sammy Atomiswave, Hikaru, Naomi 1+2) in the Platforms tab. Lightspeed filters out 245 games but when I manually add all games with the Hikaru and Naomi source driver’s I end up with 286 games. I only noticed that something was wrong because Lightspeed only imported just 1 game for the Hikaru platform at my first try.
  3. It seems that the DateTime crash is back again. I just imported all the SoftwareLists platforms with beta7 and got this: Here's the Data folder: Data.zip
  4. I can confirm that the sorting issue only appears for me when I have the "All” item activated in the side bar. Also turning “Show Counts” off/on only helps to fix this issue for platforms but not for platform categories.
  5. I can confirm that all the issues that I have reported are gone now. Thank you! I also like the idea with the name of the ROM file for the additional apps; it really helps. But I would still wish that Lightspeed could add the actual game name of the clone when there is no other information available for populating the name. Some ROM names like “typhoon” are (almost) identical to the actual game name so for these games that isn’t a problem but ROM names like “sbsgomo” (Space Battle Ship Gomorrah) are a little more problematic to identify. Another small issue I've found: Some Namco games (Burning Force, Dragon Spirit, Kyuukai Douchuuki, Rompers and Splatter House) have a closing parenthesis at the end of their name.
  6. Yes, 0183_Beta6b and LaunchBox 7.7. I also tested it on a completely different machine with 0183_Beat6b and LB 7.8 Beta-9. Same result Regarding the clone names. Maybe Lightspeed should compare the names of the parent and the clones (without the parenthesis) and if a clone has a different name than the parent Lightspeed should add the name of the clone in front of the version/region. If parent and clone have the same name it would probably be the best to don’t add a name to keep it more clean.
  7. I know that. I meant with imported that they weren’t added as additional apps like you can see in my screenshot. I got the same result.
  8. Ok, tested it again in a fresh LB installation. Lightspeed shows me the clones in the Output list but they don’t get imported.
  9. I don't know. Since you have released your first versions of Lightspeed I only have used your tool for importing MAME ROMs Unfortunately I don't have my MAME ROMs on this test machine right now. So you or somebody else would have to import them with LaunchBox and check those problematic games.
  10. I just tested it again with beta 6b and it now works perfectly fine. I don't who happened the last time when I was testing it with beta 5. So I took a little time and went through all arcade games from # to B to check if there are other issues with the consolidated ROMs. All games were imported with beta 6b. The missing name for the 1942 hack is gone but there are quite a few games that are also affected by this issue. I noticed that this issue appears when the hack/clone doesn’t have a version or region tag (maybe because the game name of the clone is different than the name of the parent? So just use the name of the clone if there isn't any other useful metadata available?). The games that I’ve found that are affected: Ajax -> Typhoon Alien Syndrome -> Baraduke Atari Football –> Atari Football II Batsugun -> Batsugun Special Version Bio-ship Paladin -> Space Battle Ship Gomorrah Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom -> Zoom 909 Burnin’ Rubber -> Bump ‘n’ Jump Unfortunately there are some more different naming issues: 1000 Miglia: Great 1000 Miles Rally -> apparently this game has five clones but only one of them was imported, twice. Assault -> The normal Japanese Version and “Assault Plus” are both listed as “Japan” version. Maybe it’s because both versions don’t have a version tag and are from the same region? Battle Bakraid - Unlimited Version -> Also has two Japan entries. Battle Garegga -> Similar issue as Battle Bakraid. Maybe it’s because the version tags have a special date format? Blue Print -> The same clone was imported twice Bull Fighter -> Same issue Bubble Bobble II -> This game is also known as Bubble Symphony and both the Bobble and Symphony versions have a revision that is called exactly the same. Burnin’ Rubber -> both Deco Cassette versions have the same name. Maybe because of the wrong parenthesis? I'll probably have to check every single game for potential other issues that don't appear for the games from # to B.
  11. Unfortunately not. he is currently pretty busy with the new playlist feature. I also can't say when he will be able to find the time to add it to LaunchBox. Your best bet would be to ask him directly
  12. Btw. this data folder only contained games/platforms which were imported by Lightspeed. Here's another data folder with games which were only imported directly through LaunchBox so that you can reproduce the data corruption issue
  13. Sure buddy, here you go: Data.zip
  14. And just found another huge bug. If you import the SoftwareLists with the latest Lightspeed beta you’ll get a sweet crash report from LaunchBox if you try to start it. This only happens for SoftWareLists games and it doesn't matter if you have the consolidate ROMs option checked or not (tested it). If you import Arcade only everything is fine.
  15. Phew, there would be a lot to choose from. One of these might work:
  16. Incredible how many platforms you have already covered. Great job! EmuMovies has videos for all 4 released games in their “ArcadePC” category. It's not the best picture but the only one that I've found which is half-decent I would also like to request platform videos for the following two Arcade systems: - IGS PolyGame Master - Taito NESiCAxLive
  17. The background of your DC logo features characters from across many different comic book publishers, actually it has way more Marvel than DC characters in it. Sorry if I bother you but I thought that you may want to know that
  18. Amazing how fast you’ve added the consolidated ROMs feature. Thanks man, I really, really appreciate it! Unfortunately is the data corruption issue back again when your LaunchBox installation already had some platforms in it. Two things that I’ve noticed regarding the consolidation feature: 1. The region tag for additional apps isn’t imported correctly. It uses the value of the developer instead of the region. Just look at the last screenshot that you’ve posted for Captain Commando, it says Capcom instead of World. 2. The hack “Supercharger 1942” for the game 1942 has an empty name. It’s the only game that I’ve found so far with this issue so I don’t know if there are other hacks/clones which are affected like this.
  19. Lol Neil. Great to see that you are so excited about the new beta but I‘m sure that Jason will fix this issue soon enough. I would really appreciate it if you wouldn’t spam every few minutes that it still doesn’t work, the notification system of the LaunchBox forum is killing me right now because of you
  20. Awesome, the release date situation has vastly improved! Although there are still quite a few games which don’t have the exact date but each of them has it’s very own way of describing the release date, so that’s not your fault that Lightspeed can’t parse them correctly. At least in my eyes it's fixed. Thank you for that
  21. You can basically add your own meta data fields which aren’t supported by default. For example, the Lightspeed importer adds custom fields like “Display Orientation”, “Control Type”, “Number of Buttons” or “Sub-Genre” for all your MAME/MESS games. With that info It’s really easy to create dedicated playlists for “Vertical Shmups” or “Lightgun Shooter” with just a few clicks. That’s just one example how they can be used, of course this feature gets mightier the more fields and tags you add.
  22. You can't add or edit platforms. But you could upload the picture here: Jason hasn't found the time to update the platforms yet but once he gets to it he will work through the linked thread.
  23. You definitely don’t have to. But if you want to than go for it. I think quite a few people would like that. There's no specific thread for that, so it should be fine if you just open a new one to inform about your updates. Also thanks in advance for contributing to the database, we appreciate it
  24. It’s not just CPS1. It happens across all arcade platforms (haven’t imported any SoftwareLists yet) and the majority of all games which have January 1st as date are affected by it. I just thought it could be related to the “export release” notes because your parser may only look for the date in the export version notes and not in the a lot more detailed Japanese notes. For example, only the entry of the original Japanese version of Captain Commando has the exact release date while the entry for the export version hasn't any useful information's at all.
  25. I can confirm the emulators.xml issue. My platforms are fine though.
