  1. I don’t know why it should mess up any theme. It would probably work in BigBox just like the current platform categories solution, only with more levels. The only problem I see is that themes would need to show something like a path of the currently selected branch because otherwise it could become very confusing to navigate through all these ramifications.
  2. Hey Quad, just a small tip. It's always better to tag a person directly if you want to make sure that he definitely sees it. Just like this: @Jason Carr
  3. You guys are killing it! What an incredible update! Huge thanks to everyone involved!
  4. I second that, this would be awesome!
  5. Nothing to be sorry about. That’s what’s called being a good beta tester! Breaking = Helping
  6. Yes, it seems to be related to the language settings. I switched my LaunchBox to German and got the 24h format, after changing the language back to English it also changed the time format back to 12h. An option in BigBox to change the time format would probably be the user friendliest solution. Also thanks for the kind works. I appreciate it
  7. Odd, that's how it looks for me and as you can see on my desktop is my system clock definitely in 24h format.: Sorry for derailing your thread Grila. Your theme is looking awesome as always! I doubt that you are even capable of creating bad themes
  8. Doesn't work for me. I've already added the clock to CriticalZone and it shows me the time in the 12h AM/PM format while my Windows clock is set to 24h.
  9. I can confirm that issue. On my end it seems that playlists always use the 3D Boxes image priorities for the covers and I can’t really change that. CoverFlow isn’t really usable that way when you have a mixture of 2D and 3D boxes with various different angles. Let’s tag @Jason Carr and see if he can fix that for the next betas
  10. +1 on the database stuff. I know it’s hard for Jason to excite the average users about stuff like the database and that's why he so hesitates to work on it. But it’s still a huge part of the LaunchBox backbone which deserves more love. Jason has mentioned that he will start the next poll after the 7.9 release, so it would be probably a great opportunity to work on the database stuff in the time gap between 7.9 release and the poll results, at least in my opinion.
  11. The current beta of Lightspeed is still causing huge issues and @Antropus seems to be busy with life. There are no new posts because all we can do is to wait until he comes back and releases a new version.
  12. Samurai Shodown is the western title and Samurai Spirits the Japanese one so therefore they should be merged to just one entry with the western title as facing name and the Japanese one as alternative title. I know it’s a little more work to do but In this cases you should add the Japanese name (and artwork if existing) from the Japanese entry to the western entry and mark the Japanese entry for deletion. As reason just type in that it’s a duplicate of Samurai Shodown VI. For more info about duplicates check the points 5 and 6 of the database guidelines. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wB80CH3zecXccfQ4Et8NxYa-G1bQuo7eo1YHvkYQ728/edit
  13. Sure, in that case you can definitely upload them as normal box art. Only the the custome covers like the Atomiswave ones you've mentioned should definitely go to fanart. Especially when they still have the green spine on the side that aren't there on the original flyers. Also a huge thanks for contributing to the cause. I really appreciate it
  14. Reconstructed should be only used if the cover isn’t an actual scan of the original artwork but still looks very similar like the original. For example complete redraws or custom recreations which aim for accuracy. Cleaned up versions are okay to go to the normal boxes as long as there aren't any alterations or wrong colors in the artwork; but when in doubt it's probably better to upload them to reconstructed as well. Custom covers that differ from the original (or in this case don’t even have an original) should be always put in the Fanart category. The thing with 3D cases is that they are all custom in some way and especially when it comes to the spines they can widely differ accuracy wise depending on the set. So I would say just go for it and upload the shrunken ones as well. We can still replace them when someone comes up with ones that are more accurate.
  15. Just choose the image you want to replace and click on edit. You will see that there’s an extra button for replacing an already existing image, so it should be relatively easy going forward
  16. Bundangdon is right. By default will LB show you only the images in your fanart folder as background but you can add/remove support for any image type you want and even specify the order in which they should be prioritized. With that said it seems that either you have a clear logo inside your fanart folder or that you have the Clear Logo image type added to your background image settings. To change the latter go to: Tools -> Options -> Images -> Background Priorities. Here you can check/uncheck which image types should be used as background and change their priority by moving them up or down.
  17. Hey man, great to see you around here! I really love your work and won’t even dare to imagine how much time that all of this must’ve cost you. I just want to say thank you for this project because I really appreciate it! I also have a tip for everyone else who is reading this thread here: This project is not only useful for just RocketLauncher as almost all the media can be used with LaunchBox as well, so I highly recommend to everyone to take a look at this project even if you don’t use RocketLauncher yourself. Especially the soundtracks sets are superb work that you won’t find anywhere else so FrontEnd ready like those here. It wasn't just your screen. But no worries, I have fixed that for you
  18. If you prefer screenshots over fanart images or just want to fill the fanart holes with screenshots than you can easily do this as well. In LaunchBox go to Tools -> Options –> Images -> Background Priorities. Here you can check any image types you want and move them up or down in the priority hierarchy.
  19. Hey man, sorry for not responding sooner. It’s definitely possible to enlarge the cartridge without doing the same with the icons but unfortunately that’s not an easy fix you could do by just changing some values. You would have to change the whole Row structure of the view and edit every element that is related to that. I get what you mean with the small carts but you probably should know that one of the basic concepts of the view is that all columns in the whole middle part are symmetrical to each other (the sizes of the elements in the column in the middle are just reversed). While creating it I also played around a bit by only making the carts larger but I came to the conclusion that it looked terrible and certainly not clean at all when you destroy the symmetry between the columns.
  20. CityHunter and CriticalZone only make use of the background video in certain views. So if the view doesn’t support it you won’t have any luck. Currently only 2 horizontal wheel views and one vertical wheel view (the one with the 4:3 fullscreen video on the right) support them. But thanks for the input, I may consider that as an option for version 2.0
  21. Oh sure! Now it makes sense. Would have been easier if you had said that right in the beginning Unfortunately is CriticalZone widescreen only (optimized for 16:9 but I do my best to make it also look nice with 16:10) and I don’t have any plans to change that any time soon. I would have to rework the whole theme and maintain both versions separately and that’s too much work. I already have to keep the Fanart background version and CityHunter up-to-date as well every time I change something; and adding a single 4:3 view in an otherwise complete widescreen theme is not gonna happen for various reasons. Sorry for that; but I still appreciate your input! I hope I don’t sound too harsh. And why most theme creators don’t do 4:3 themes is pretty easy to answer. I guess they personally don’t own a cab with a 4:3 display and therefor it’s really hard to motivate and inspire yourself to work many hours on a theme that you can’t properly use for yourself.
  22. Sure, makes sense. I was just wondering why Rayman is in a video called “Windows Indie” but now I know, so everything is fine
  23. Thanks for the suggestion but a view like that is already included for platforms and in my opinion there’s no need for a games view like that. The vertical wheel view with the 4:3 fullscreen video on the right was specially designed for HyperSpin video themes. Sure it’s not perfect for 16:9 videos but it still works fine for them and considering that games and especially themes in that format are in a huge minority is that fact even more negligible. Also is stretching 4:3 videos in to an wrong aspect ratio just for the sake of filling the whole screen with them not feasible by any means, at least in my eyes.
  24. Haha good to know. If you have any wishes or suggestions let me know (I’m also open to rework some of the current views as well) Of course that offer is not only for you, I appreciate the input from everyone who wants to pitch me his ideas regarding CriticalZone 2.0. Just be aware that I see your suggestions more like an inspiration for me and therefore I can’t make any promises.
  25. I don’t think so. There isn’t that much space on the left, just think of the differences between a SNES and PS2 case. And even if you would use the space it would look horrible. From a design standpoint you just don’t squeeze single elements directly on the border of the screen. That only works for elements that fill out the whole side like the wheel in your mock-up. It’s also not just the boxes with different aspect ratios. You have all kinds of different cartridges across all platforms.
