  1. Show me where he said that? He said no such thing he just stated that MAME is very simple, its users that seem to complicate it for no obvious reasons. Generally it is just like other emulators, you download a pack of roms and you download the emulator, you then tell the emulator where the roms are, and set your controls/options, again just like any other emulator up to this point. The only difference here is matching the emulator version, but thats as simple as downloading the version you need (every single release ever is available from here MAME | Previous Releases (mamedev.org) so getting the correct version is no different than downloading any other emulator). And as long as the romset you downloaded hasnt been tampered with and had things removed then it contains absolutely everything you need, its when users start saying well i dont want all of this and start deleting games that issues occur, as they tend to delete what they think are unrelated games, when in fact you may have dozens, sometimes 100's of other games that rely on files within the zip you deleted. Keep it simple, get a split/merged/non-merged romset, get the correct emulator for it, if you want to keep your roms outside of the emulators folder tell the emulator where to find them, setup controls/options if needed, as i said earlier, really no different than any other emulator, if you are doing other things that then complicate this very simple setup then you cant really blame that on the emulator, as you are doing things it is not designed to do, and thats on you, not the devs of MAME.

  3. Also as to the not starting up part, check that your antivirus hasnt removed the Launchbox or Bigbox .dll's.
  4. If you had your install on your E: drive, but have now installed the latest version to your C drive then of course it will be empty, its a new install that you havent setup. You would need to run the update for 11.8 and install it over the top of your previous version, not to a completely different location. Launchbox is a portable program and doesnt store any of its data outside of its own folder structure so if you install it elsewhere it has no knowledge at all of the other installation which actually contains your systems and games.
  5. And also dont be surprised if this comment means you get absolutely zero support moving forward.
  6. Sounds completely like a game issue, you using startup screens with Bigbox?
  7. We dont generally link to emumovies either, we mention it a lot, but i dont see it linked really, also the music files there are also locked behind a paywall, so it it was a direct link the average user would not be able to access the content, so not really a direct link either. As you say though, i dont mean to argue either, im just enforcing the rules as im given them. Also a few years back we did have a user uploading his game audio rips here to the forums download section, we had to remove them and ask him to stop posting them, so you are not being singled out in this respect. At the end of the day this is a legitimate company selling a legitimate product, and we have to be very careful as to what is available here on our website.
  8. @erebus44 Unfortunately i have had to remove your link your site. The rules we have on these forums does not allow linking to copyrighted materials like roms and bios files, music also falls under this catagory, its copyrighted materials you do not have legal permissions to distribute. Feel free to leave this thread here and add to it with whats new etc, but unfortunately you can not directly link t it from these forums.
  9. Anything in Launchbox that you have changed from the defaults. Probably not, launchbox creates backups everytime its shutdown. If no backups work (highly unlikely) you can just delete that settings file and re-open Launchbox and it will create a new one, you will be back at default settings though.
  10. Only import the .cue files. The games that are not loading are probably trying to launch with one of the bin files and that aint gonna work. Delete your PS1 platform but keep the media, then import again just using the .cue files.
  11. Set it to "Close Active Window" not "Exit" as that exits Bigbox itself.
  12. The fix is that the theme needs updating, it uses a video plugin that interacts with VLC, VLC was moved so the plugin can no longer find it and throws the error. The theme and plugin creator has not been on the forums in 6 months, so i dont expect the theme will get that update im afraid.

    GPD Win3

Still using Intel chips though, they should really switch to Ryzen as they have much better integrated graphics than Intel, and as this is a gaming orientated device im really surprised that they are leaving free performance on the table by sticking with Intel.
  14. There is really no point if you dont actually have the roms. Cant play what you dont have.
  15. Quick tip, Launchbox never downloads games for you. You have to provide your own.
  16. Yeah i did, i put it in the system32 folder first and got the image i sent you. So i then also added it to the 64 folder also, i even closed launchbox and restarted, same UI error. Hmm, now i think sorta rationally, maybe i shulda restarted Windows itself after as well, as its the Windows folders themselves.
  17. Yeah thats fair. Maybe you can get a few people testing here and see what the results are, as obviously im a test group of one, and it could totally be me being a dumbass or something unique to my system.
  18. You will probably get more eyes on this if you upload it to the appropriate section of the downloads part of the forums. Third-party Apps and Plugins - LaunchBox Community Forums (launchbox-app.com) I have to say though that it doesnt appear to be working for me. Im trying with Cyberpunk 2077, which does have a video link in the metadata which is to the 2018 E3 trailer at 1:40 long, however the plugin returns this.
  19. OK, first things first it looks like you just have some random MAME roms that you have downloaded from the internet, thats not really a good idea for MAME, MAME is different from most other emulators in that its versioned and also comes as "romsets" of which there are three different kinds, and unless your rom is from a "Non Merged Romset" it may quite likely need more files than just the rom itself (it would likely also need the bios file, and if the game/version of the game you have is a clone you would also need the parent). Also grabbing random roms its next to impossible to know the version of the rom you have, and that is important as the roms are only guaranteed to work with the matching version of the emulator. If your rom is from say romset 0.175, then you really need to use the 0.175 version of the emulator in order to know for sure that it will work. I see from your image you have Galaga, do you have any idea what romset it is from, im assuming not? Lets focus on just the one emulator for arcade as to not confuse matters here, and i recommend MAME standalone here and not the Retroarch cores. Which version of the MAME emulator are you running? Have you told said emulator the location of your arcade roms? Do the games load if loaded directly in MAME without Launchbox's involvement?
  20. Well thats sort of the point of a view without artwork, without artwork the game names will be text, and why would you animate that? Also we have hundreds of different themes here on the forums, surely one of those has a view closer to what you actually want? It would mean that every theme we have here would have to be updated to work with the new view, and we all know that some themes are simply abandoned at this point and will never receive those updates. Its not a bug, it is completely by design and working exactly as intended.
  21. We have one, its called the text list view.
  22. Gonna need some more information here to be able to help you. What system are you actually trying to get working, and with what core, did you check the "associated platforms" tab for retroarch to make sure the platform is there and has the correct core associated with it? Images would also help us to spot any issues.

    Apk

Nope, if you bought it you can still download it. Just go into your Apps and Games section of the Play store.

    Adding videos

Did you get the premium emumovies subscription? Videos/manuals/music require a paid subscription there, not a free account.
  25. Background priorities, sounds like you have Box - Front checked there and at the top of the list.
