That i dont know, it's probably possible but i don't know how, google is your friend as always.

You can add it to the startup folder in windows so that it launches at boot, you can do this with any program. Just google start program at boot.

lol, just thought i would give some context. A lot of people just think London when they hear England, so just wanted to show we have more than that expensive pollution ridden city.

I dont mess with DOS so im not to up on it, but if you imported it as a DOS game then yes of course it will use DOSBOX as the emulator, thats the point of the DOS importer. If you want to use ScummVM then you will need to add it as a emulator and import the game to a different platform that uses ScummVM, or edit the game in its current platform to use ScummVM instead of DOSBOX after setting up ScummVM as a emulator.

Launchbox themes are completely customizable by the developers of said themes, so it's entirely up to them how they do or do not include things. This theme in particular is modelled after the PLEX web UI, which uses the same/similar background as this theme, its just a aesthetic choice made by the theme creator.
-
You are using the PLEX theme, that doesnt support background images, just the grey/blueish one you see.

I just caught this in your first post, i hope you are not extracting all the zip files? MAME use the games as zips, they wont work if you extract them all to folders.

The pi uses a specific subset of roms and from a very old set, i believe the roms are from around 2003. The pi uses a very old reduced romset and a very old version of MAME to run them. The pi simply is not powerful enough to run current rom dumps with the current version of MAME, hence why a very old subset of the games is used on PI. EDIT: The reason those pi MAME roms didnt work is as i said, they are from a 2003 set and will need a MAME emulator version from 2003 in order to work for the most part. This is why MAME sets are numbered, you for most of the time want the same version romset and emulator. Running the pi set which is around version 0.076 with the current version of MAME which is 0.206 will not work for most games.

There are not CHD's for games that dont need them, only for games that do. However there are a lot of CHD's in the pack for games that MAME can not currently emulate, but have been dumped and are ready for use when MAME is able to emulate those games in the future. The list you see above is all the games that also need a CHD file to run, but as i said a lot of those simply do not work in MAME as of yet (and that list is using data from MAME 0.201 and the current release is 0.206 so that list may of changed slightly since). CHD's go in the rom folder along side the normal game zips, or anywhere you like really as long as you tell MAME where they are located. The vast majority of games in MAME do not need a CHD at all and will work just fine with the 60GB pack you downloaded. CHD's are essentially CD Disc images using the CHD format of compression (Compressed Hunks of Data=CHD) and are used on the more recent arcade systems MAME can emulate for the most part, like CPS3 games like Street Fighter 3 and it's sequels, and there are also some older games that need CHD's also like the Killer Instinct games.

Yeah, although the fullset importer asks you for the location of your full romset it doesnt actually scan that folder for what is there. It assumes you have a fullset as that is what the importer is for, so it adds all known working games to Launchbox using the MAME metadata as to what games work and which dont. You could technically point it at a empty folder and it would still add all the working games to Launchbox. All you need to do when you have the CHD pack is to point MAME to the location of them if you are not using the default roms folder inside the MAME emulator folder.

Unfortunately my crystal ball isnt working today. So without a screenshot of what it says is missing and knowing what game you were trying to launch it will be virtually impossible to tell you what is wrong.

The discount is in the email you received with your license.

This is the exact reason i have my mayflash arcade stick set to dinput rather than xinput, MAME would always confuse it with my xbox controllers, and i map the stick differently than i would the controller (i have the top row as the first 3 buttons for example). I never found a way around it so i permantly leave my stick as dinput as its the only dinput device i have so it doesnt confuse MAME.

Launchbox now loading to black and grey screen
neil9000 replied to BrettL's topic in Troubleshooting
OK good to know. If you look in your Launchbox/Backups folder you should find copy's of the settings.xml with the date ammended to the file name. You can try and renaming one of them back so it is just called settings.xml and putting that into Launchbox/Data folder. Obviously you would want to use one with a time and date previous to the issue occurring. Strange one for sure though and i would be interested in how it happened in the first place. -
Launchbox now loading to black and grey screen
neil9000 replied to BrettL's topic in Troubleshooting
I have never seen that before and have no idea how it could of happened. You could try removing the settings.xml from the Launchbox/Data folder (just move it out for the time being) and see if Launchbox will load. Are you getting any errors at all?
