  1. Well i have never seen that before, i am really not sure what is happening there. My only guess is Windows is missing some files/drivers that next needs but normal Launchbox doesnt. I will tag @Jason Carr here to see if he has any idea, but i believe he is away this week so i am not sure when he will see it. Also i noticed you are always opening as administrator, why? Its not recommended to run Launchbox as administrator as it can cause issues.
  2. I havent used the standalone MESSEN only the Retroarch core, but you say you want "to fill out a normal 1920x1080 16:9 format" but that obviously isnt the normal format as its nes and is 4:3. Im not sure if MESSEN allows you to stretch it or not, it can be done in retroarch. However those nes games will look pretty bad stretched to 16:9 on a 4K screen in my opinion.
  3. You should only import the .cue files into Launchbox, that could be the issue there. My suggestion would be to delete the platform then re-import with just the .cue's when you get to the media download screen uncheck everything as you already have it all, so the import will be very quick. Also i should ask what core you are using in retroarch, and that is the same one you are using in Launchbox, i think there are 2 beetle psx cores a hardware one and a software one, are you deffinately using the correct one in Launchbox.
  4. What exactly the issue, games just doing nothing when double clicked? Have you the bios for PS1?
  5. If you are on the latest version of Launchbox then yes it has changed. That commandline is now a dropdown list, just double click it and select the core in the dropdown. Everything will be set behind the scenes.
  6. Ha ha cool, i was just wondering if it still had the old license activated so wasn't updating, Glad its all sorted.
  7. If you go to Help/License Registration does it say that the license is activated?
  8. Go to tools/options/game details and make sure video is checked. There are a few options there to tweak it how you would like.
  9. You probably have download in background checked, just leave it open and you will be prompted when the downloaded update is ready to install. Alternatively uncheck the download in background option then close and re-open to get the prompt.
  10. Launchbox and Launchbox.Next use the same images, there is no difference there. If the images are not showing in the older Launchbox then you probably have it set to use different images or something there. The folders images download to are still the same, both OG and Next pull them from exactly the same location.
  11. Yeah there are some defaults in there but it's not exhaustive, MAME is usually called Arcade so it's not there by default. Glad you hot it working though.
  12. Yes Launchbox needs you to specify the correct core to use for the platform. Go to tools/manage emulator double click retroarch and go to the associated platforms tab. In here you will have to add the name of your platform if its not listed, and it has to be named EXACTLY as it is listed on the left of Launchbox, then if you are on the latest version double click where the core is and use the dropdown to select the correct one,if you are not on the latest release you will need to type it in.
  13. From Launchbox? If that is the case then have you downloaded a MAME core and told Launchbox to use the correct one? Also i would still recommend using the portable Retroarch and using it from another location but that is your choice, however i wont be able to help troubleshoot that much as i dont use the installer version or have my retroarch in that privileged app data/roaming folder.
  14. Also on a side note you can just drag images into the reply window, its actually very hard to see the image you linked as its so small.
  15. You shouldnt really use the installer for retroarch just use the portable 7z version. The app data/roaming folder is hidden by default in Windows and it does that for a reason, you shouldnt really be messing with things in there. My guess is windows is not allowing Launchbox to launch games from there for security reasons. I just created a Emulators folder inside my Launchbox folder and keep all my emulators in there.
  16. Have you actually setup MAME to use retroarch in Launchbox? Also why is your Retroarch in your app data/roaming folder, thats probably the issue right there.
  17. Sí, cuantos más juegos agregues, más tiempo llevará cargar. Launchbox tiene que leer todos los datos de los juegos que has importado cuando se carga para que sepa qué mostrar y qué imágenes mostrar.
  18. Well they will be where you originally put them when you downloaded them, by default MAME likes them in the roms folder in the MAME emulator folder, so I would look there, but honestly your PC I have no idea were you put them.
  19. He visto personas con tiempos de carga mucho más largos que eso. El mío es alrededor de 10 segundos, y eso está en una SSD. 15 segundos no suena nada mal.
  20. That's not necessarily a Launchbox thing, nearly all the emulators I use exit with the escape key. So if you have a emulator loaded and you press the escape key on your keyboard then of course the emulator is going to exit. I have never used a emulator that uses escape to pause a game, games are paused with start on the controller like real hardware, and you shouldn't really need to go into the emulator menus after initial setup, that's the whole point of a frontend in the first place, to hide all that stuff so its seamless loading and exiting to/from a pretty interface.
  21. Those are not images they are videos, you can download them from within Launchbox under Tools/Download platform/Playlist videos.
  22. lol, that's the PG13 version of Mark Hamils character in Jay and Silent Bob Srike Back.
  23. Yes, that's why I noticed, I loaded up the beta and had no sound, had to turn the knob up.
  24. Yeah agreed, I like the videos auto playing but the full volume of them could be quite annoying if you were clicking around on games. So being able to set it to 30% or something is very nice to have.
