PCSX2 Configurator
neil9000 replied to alec100_94's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
I would recommend the second option, running Launchbox as admin can cause issues running emulators due to requiring elevation.- 183 replies

Yeah its totally doable, I used to have mine like that, I had Launchbox with all the images on my SSD, but then had all the games and videos on a HDD, works just fine.
-
Yes, but you will have to tell Launchbox where your games have moved to on a per platform basis. Just highlight all the games in a platform with CTRL A and go to tools/change rom path and browse to the new location.

Reicast is the Dreamcast core in Retroarch but its not very good, so you are best sticking with Demul. Same with Dolphin there is a core but it's fairly new and not as good as the standalone. I use Retroarch for as many systems as I can, but there are some systems where to get the best experience you will still have to use standalone emulators.

You can have different views per platform, so im guessing you have that option on. Either turn it off in options/views or assign a switch view button to your controller/keyboard go to the platform you want to change view on and press the button you setup.

8.3 unstable and broke image links for NES and SNES
neil9000 replied to zarkingfrood's topic in Troubleshooting
I personally have had no issues with 8.3, i would lean towards something on your system interfering as you say emulators are crashing but Launchbox has nothing to do with emulators it just launches them. So if they are having issues as well I would say it is something outside of Launchbox, possibly a bad Windows update, Graphics driver or worse case a HDD going bad. -
Mednafen Saturn is available although its called Beetle Saturn in the UI, Demul is standalone only and not available in Retroarch.

Try going to tools/options/image priorities/box front and checking the option for advertisement flyers and move it up to 2nd in the list. Launchbox should use it if it cant find a box front.
-
If you go into either keyboard buttons or controller buttons depending on what you are using there is a option there for switch image type, set that to a key/button and use on that screen to cycle the image types.
-
Yeah if you used the mame importer it would of created them unless you unchecked the option in the wizard. I like having them, but I sort by Platform Category so its not as cluttered.
-
Those are just playlists, not sure how they would appear by themselves though, you either specify it during MAME import (it's checked by default) or you create them via the tools menu. Either way close Launchbox and go to your Launchbox/Data/Playlists folder and delete them, they should be gone when you re-open Launchbox.

It works just fine here, I left Bigbox running overnight the other day it was going for 14 hours and was still running in attract mode in the morning.
-
The current version of Retroarch is 1.7.3, but it should be more or less exactly the same as the video.
-
I don't use the UI version of MAME but I assume its the same. Just load a game and hit TAB on your keyboard and go to "Input General" to set your controls for the default config. If you need game specific controls for some games then load that game and choose "input this machine". Also make sure to go to "other controls" in the input menu to set your coin and Player start button.
-
The controller settings ini is stored in MAME/cfg folder and is called default, I would suggest setting your controls in MAME then setting that file to read only by right clicking it and going to properties and checking the read only box and apply. That should stop it getting overwritten.

Im on 1803, and I have had zero issues with games. Everything runs just as it should.
-
Maybe they moved the Naomi stuff to the DC software List?
-
The MAME CHD's are a separate download, its around 550GB if I recall.
-
Yes, just move all your CHD folders to the same location as your MAME roms, MAME will see them automatically.

How to update your MAME ROMset to a newer version with CLRmamepro
neil9000 replied to SentaiBrad's topic in Emulation
Mechanical games are games that usually used some sort of custom mechanical hardware in them, like basketball games with real balls and hoops, things like that so are impossible to emulate. -
on the spin wheel how to change the game name art
neil9000 replied to Fixit001's topic in Game Media
Those are clear logos, for games they are in Launchbox/Images/name of platform/Clear Logos, for platforms they are in Launchbox/Images/Platforms/Clear Logos. Also if you change any you should go to Options/Image cache in bigbox to refresh the cache and make new images show up. -

CHD's only come one way, so yes that is what you want. -
As you have discovered you cannot launch Bigbox while also having Launchbox running, this is expected behaviour of the software. The only way around it would be to map a macro on your controller to CTRL X, this is used to close launchbox via keyboard, you would of course have to be careful with it as the same command will also close Bigbox, so I would recommend setting it to a button combo to avoid accidently closing them.
