  1. Launchbox and Launchbox.Next use the same images, there is no difference there. If the images are not showing in the older Launchbox then you probably have it set to use different images or something there. The folders images download to are still the same, both OG and Next pull them from exactly the same location.
  2. Yeah there are some defaults in there but it's not exhaustive, MAME is usually called Arcade so it's not there by default. Glad you hot it working though.
  3. Yes Launchbox needs you to specify the correct core to use for the platform. Go to tools/manage emulator double click retroarch and go to the associated platforms tab. In here you will have to add the name of your platform if its not listed, and it has to be named EXACTLY as it is listed on the left of Launchbox, then if you are on the latest version double click where the core is and use the dropdown to select the correct one,if you are not on the latest release you will need to type it in.
  4. From Launchbox? If that is the case then have you downloaded a MAME core and told Launchbox to use the correct one? Also i would still recommend using the portable Retroarch and using it from another location but that is your choice, however i wont be able to help troubleshoot that much as i dont use the installer version or have my retroarch in that privileged app data/roaming folder.
  5. Also on a side note you can just drag images into the reply window, its actually very hard to see the image you linked as its so small.
  6. You shouldnt really use the installer for retroarch just use the portable 7z version. The app data/roaming folder is hidden by default in Windows and it does that for a reason, you shouldnt really be messing with things in there. My guess is windows is not allowing Launchbox to launch games from there for security reasons. I just created a Emulators folder inside my Launchbox folder and keep all my emulators in there.
  7. Have you actually setup MAME to use retroarch in Launchbox? Also why is your Retroarch in your app data/roaming folder, thats probably the issue right there.
  8. Sí, cuantos más juegos agregues, más tiempo llevará cargar. Launchbox tiene que leer todos los datos de los juegos que has importado cuando se carga para que sepa qué mostrar y qué imágenes mostrar.
  9. Well they will be where you originally put them when you downloaded them, by default MAME likes them in the roms folder in the MAME emulator folder, so I would look there, but honestly your PC I have no idea were you put them.
  10. He visto personas con tiempos de carga mucho más largos que eso. El mío es alrededor de 10 segundos, y eso está en una SSD. 15 segundos no suena nada mal.
  11. That's not necessarily a Launchbox thing, nearly all the emulators I use exit with the escape key. So if you have a emulator loaded and you press the escape key on your keyboard then of course the emulator is going to exit. I have never used a emulator that uses escape to pause a game, games are paused with start on the controller like real hardware, and you shouldn't really need to go into the emulator menus after initial setup, that's the whole point of a frontend in the first place, to hide all that stuff so its seamless loading and exiting to/from a pretty interface.
  12. Those are not images they are videos, you can download them from within Launchbox under Tools/Download platform/Playlist videos.
  13. lol, that's the PG13 version of Mark Hamils character in Jay and Silent Bob Srike Back.
  14. Yes, that's why I noticed, I loaded up the beta and had no sound, had to turn the knob up.
  15. Yeah agreed, I like the videos auto playing but the full volume of them could be quite annoying if you were clicking around on games. So being able to set it to 30% or something is very nice to have.
  16. @Jason Carr the new volume button in .Next is affecting video volume as well, is that intentional? I actually quite like it.
  17. Usually those sort of grey static images in videos are due to HHD speeds not being fast enough. If you are running Launchbox on a HDD only then its reading/writing several things at the same time as trying to also play a video and that can cause issues from time to time. If you have ever tried moving two files to a HDD at the same time you can see this in action as both transfers will be much slower than they should be as the head is having to move a lot more to right the data required. I used to have the same issue while using VLC but found WMP to be much better, but that has some downsides also. What I actually do now is have Launchbox and all the images on a SSD, while keeping my roms and videos on a HDD, that way Launchbox is only reading the videos from the drive and not all the other stuff at the same time.
  18. nope, not if you just grab random roms off the internet. MAME use a versioning system and generally the romset version has to match the emulator version. my romset is the current 0.198 so I use the current 0.198 version of MAME with it. If you don't know what your roms version are you will find that some just wont work with the current MAME, its likely that most old Capcom games will straight up not work with the current MAME.
  19. Well that is because retropie is using retroarch so nearly all systems are using the same emulator and that is why the controls are setup, you can use retroarch with your Launchbox which would simplify controller setup hugely as you set them once and forget them more or less. The automation works just fine it sends a escape command when used, so you must be using a emulator that doesn't use escape to exit, what emulator are you testing with?
  20. Yeah controllers will need to be setup with the emulators you are using, Launchbox has no control over that its down to the emulator in question. As for exiting you will need to turn on controller automation in the Bigbox options, you then set a hold button which you will have to hold to access the other buttons in that screen. a lot of users use select/back as the hold button then use start as the exit button, so you hold select/back and press start to exit.
  21. Hmm I have not seen that error before, however it does look like you are installing another Launchbox inside of your Launchbox folder, your path is E:\Launchbox\Launchbox\Bigbox.exe is that correct? It looks like you will end up with another Launchbox folder inside your existing folder. If your Launchbox is on the root of your E drive then it just needs to be installed to E not E:\Launchbox.
  22. No, there is a updates folder in the launchbox folder that will have the installers in it just pick the one you want and when you get to the part of the wizard asking where you want to install too install it directly on top of your current Launchbox folder.
  23. Go into your Launchbox/Updates folder and install the newest beta or newest official release directly over your current install folder, it wont touch any of your games or settings just ovewrite the .exe and any files needed for the program to run.
  24. Are you positive you do not have 2 playlists/platforms using the same clear logo in bigbox? maybe one on its own and another under the arcade section?
