  1. No, but some things may break, only update to beta if you are willing to test buggy software and report issues you come across in our beta thread.
  2. Yeah, you cant directly edit the default themes, that is by design as a safeguard so there is always a working theme to fall back to, other themes can be directly edited though.
  3. Could also turn off "different views per platform" in the options so that all platforms are always the same view.
  4. Its probably due to the fact that Launchbox is Windows only for the most part, so 99% of the users here will be Windows users that do not use Linux, if they even are aware of what it is. I have huge respect for Linux, but lets be honest its a very niche OS, and as Launchbox is a Windows application most people on this forum will be running Windows. I have no doubt we have Linux users here, but i bet they also have a Windows machine, and thats what they run Launchbox on, Launchbox has full compatibility there and most people want a frontend that just works, not one that needs constant babysitting like what is required to get this up and running on Linux, not to mention the added complexity of running on Linux, (heavy use of the terminal, installing repositories being just two concepts that are completely alien to most Windows users) most people just want to click install on Windows and go.
  5. You can't in Launchbox. Where it shows a user in the theme, thats not actually what it looks like, its just showing the name on your Bigbox license.
  6. New MAME Full Set Importer - LaunchBox Tutorial - YouTube ASs for the x-arcade, just load up mame and hit tab and go to general controls and set them the way you want, its very straight forward.
  7. They are gonna sell a dock separately in the future but any USB C dongle or dock will work, and yes it has bluetooth so connecting a controller is trivial. Its essentially a smaller laptop.
  8. I doubt it, its a 4 core 8 thread Ryzen 2 CPU running at up to 3.5ghz with RDNA 2 GPU and 16GB of DDR5 ram that is faster than you have in your PC. It will run Windows just fine, its more powerful than a lot gaming laptops out there that cost a lot more money. Of course we, will need to wait for actual benchmarks, but on paper this is more powerful than my £850 Ryzen laptop.
  9. That is fixed if you update to the betas.
  10. Delete the platform and re-add it by just going to the folder with the games in and put *.cue in the window search bar, highlight them all and drag and drop them to Launchbox to start the import wizard, leave metadata checked but uncheck all the media as you already have it all.
  11. You would have to ask emumovies im afraid, we dont run that, we just use there API for scraping.
  12. PC would still need to already be on, same issue as turning it on with a controller.
  13. Just run the importer again, and uncheck all the media downloads, then after you can go back and scrape for the newly added games only.
  14. Valve’s new Steam Deck can run Windows and turn into a handheld Xbox - The Verge
  15. It is there linux based steamOS, but its not locked down in any way, you could install Windows, emulation station lakka, whatever you want.
  16. You can install Windows on the SteamDeck, so no need.
  17. You dont need xpadder, Launchbox and Bigbox have native controller mappings and allow you to set a combo to exit games, in Bigbox the option is called "close active window". Do you have use all controllers checked, because DS4windows could be interfering as that converts dinput to xinput, which is what your xbox controllers also are.
  18. When text is red like that it's because the message couldnt be sent due to a network issue. You have full permissions to post in there, everybody does, unfortunately the error is your end somehow. I see your issue is Retroarch PS1 related, create a thread here and we will do our best to help you out.
  19. Do you have steam open in the background, if so make sure to turn off the desktop mappings there.
  20. This is not possible, your PC obviously needs to be on for the controller to be connected to it to send a command to turn it on. It's a chicken and egg situation.
  21. Are you trying to comment in the correct room, some only allow moderators to post, like the announcements channel. Try the Launchbox support, or Bigbox support channels.
  22. Coincidence. Unless i guess if you are using LEDBlinky and that supports it somehow?
  23. When are you encouraged? its entirely up to you when you update, there is no auto updater or anything like that, so the only time you update is when YOU specifically trigger a core update.
