  1. Yeah, playlists are pretty easy. You can also have the playlist auto-populate any time you create a new playlist or if you want an existing playlist to add games to it any time you upload new games. Just right click the playlist and edit. There is a tab for auto-populate. You can have it auto by name, series, genre and so on. A whole slew of options are there.
  2. As DOS76 said you can have the roms where you want. Leaving them within the Launchbox folder just makes it that much easier to move launchbox if you so choose to another pc or drive. But if you do not put them in the launchbox folder structure it is not really a major issue to update rom paths. When you import your games just keep them stored where you want them than you link to that path. Just be sure to choose the option during import to have launchbox leave the files where you have them. There is an option to have launchbox move them and you do not want that.
  3. One of the reason I throughly enjoy this site. Its members are super helpful and the seasoned as well as developing members hold each other to a professional standard.
  4. I think how LordMonkus described would still be the only way to make a genre platform that would include games of a certain genre from all systems. You would have to make a custom playlist called "Role-Playing", set it up to include all the games you want, then make sure in the Edit playlist screen to check the field to "Include this Playlist in Platforms Lists". Then you would have: Platforms> Genesis SNES Arcade Role-Playing (and this would list all RP games for all systems - per the specs you set up in you custom playlist)
  5. Ah just realized it said 7.1 my eyes read 7.10. I am on 7.10. Even that though my Tankstick has been set up since around 6.9.
  6. That is pretty odd. I have a Tankstick as well. I actually use the default Tankstick button configuration and RA has no issue binding. I just tested by changing a couple bindings and they stuck. I use standalone Mame as well as some FBA cores in RA with my Tankstick. No AHK at all.
  7. Assuming you have all your images in the correct folders, I would do 2 things. 1: In Launchbox go to options then under "Images" - "Box Front Priorities" make sure "Clear Logo" is not at the top. If so move it down and make what ever image type you want the priority. This setting does affect BigBox 2. Then in BigBox make sure you refresh your image cache. Not sure if that is 100% correct, but it is how I changed it to make sure in themes that used box art in certain views that the box art would show if I had an image for it.
  8. Ahh yes. Had I read that correctly. Definitely would be good to see that added to platforms.
  9. There is a plug-in that allows .pdf views. It adds another menu item to the game display list and works with joy controls.
  10. In the Hotkey configuration there is an option for "show pressed keys" look and see what key that option is set to. Pressing it will turn it on or off. I am not sure if this is the default or not, but in my settings that hotkey is set to "comma" key.
  11. @wyzrd Just wanted to add my thanks for this great tool. Simply brilliant!
  12. That should just hide the playlist inside of a platform. I believe he is wanting to hide some, but not all of his platforms and keep playlists visible which I am not sure was implemented.
  13. Oh. I am not sure if BigBox will allow you to pick and choose. Not sure if this will be a look you want but you can use the platform categories option and it will give you an extra layer. Then make your playlists be a platform category. This will separate out playlists from your systems view.
  14. I believe in BigBox options if you change the default startup to "playlists" it will only show playlists.
  15. You are talking about this right? During rom import process it shows up after the screens to choose the metadata types you want to download.
  16. What style is it specifically in the video are you trying to mirror? In watching the video it demoes different view styles of the theme as well as different background videos. You can see he changes the theme to each of the different background videos. Is there a specific background video and view you are looking at in the video. Perhaps mention the time stamp it shows up at.
  17. I just tested a custom config and it worked fine. As @lordmonkus mentioned something may be wrong with your command line or a corrupt .cfg Here is what I tested and it loaded the custom .cfg fine. First image is of the manage emulator screen showing the LB command line. Second is RA after loading a TG16 with the custom .cfg. Maybe share an image of your edit emulators and associated platforms tabs.
  18. The option to bind hot keys is in the RA menu under the gear icon, then input, then input hot key binds. I think if you want to set hot keys to "nul" you may have to open the retroarch.cfg an edit the lines for the specific hot keys to read "nul". For example change the line for input_enable_hotkey = "11" to read input_enable_hotkey = "nul" then save the .cfg. Make a copy of the original one first just in case things get mucked up. This is how I had to do it late last year so if they have changed and you can now set to nul in the GUI I could not say since I have not done it since.
  19. @angelobodetti Thanks. Yeah that's the one I found after you mentioned one existed. I downloaded it and changed the music. So thanks for the tip. I was only looking in the Playlist download area. Completely forgot to check the Games Theme Videos.
  20. I saw @CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT did a fighter theme in the playlists download area but I do not see one for specifically Street Fighter. I did find one from another member in the games theme downloads.
  21. Hopping on this thread with a couple of requests. Did not want to open a new thread for requests. Hoping someone has in the works or would not mind creating a video for: -An actual theme video for "Playlists" -Street Fighter -Resident Evil Thanks!
  22. Try deleting the ID if there is one and then reducing the game name to just a couple words of the name. That worked for me in the past as it will usually bring up a list of games with the partial name match. Just for kicks I tested with Watch Dogs 2 by searching only "Watch" and the full list showed Watch Dogs 2 from the Launchbox Database. Issue is the game is listed as "Watch_Dogs 2". Searching for "Secret World" I was able to find the full game name from the DB as well. Rime no luck finding no matter what I did.
  23. Right click on a game and choose "edit". In the upper right hand of that edit window it will show the ID if it pulled one. Just delete it and then click search for metadata.
  24. @Peej I do not think I have ever seen any options for a feature like that. Too be honest I am not even sure if an emulator would do such a thing as well.
  25. Right click on a rom that is not working and click edit. Check the emulator tab to confirm that an emulator is checked and the emulator listed is Rocketlauncher. There was an earlier post with an RL issue and some roms not working. Turned out in that member's set up the roms that were not working the emulator for some reason did not get configured. I do not use RL so I cannot help to much, but I do remember reading the above in a prior post. Worth a check.
