  1. So we can add icons in the Launchbox/Images/Platform Icons/Playlists folder, but they won't be displayed for users of the free version of Launchbox, is that right? Because, I just gave it a try and renamed a few icons I downloaded on the LB forum exactly the same as the playlist's names, but they're nowhere to be seen on the Launchbox UI. If it's a premium feature I'm fine with it of course, it's just, like I mentioned above the "Ball & Paddle Games", "Board & Card Games" and "Run & Gun Games" categories, which are not categories I created but LB's default ones, don't have an icon on the UI over here, when their icons are in the aforementioned folder. I don't get why they don't get displayed...
  2. I downloaded a few from here and renamed them the exact same way they're mentioned on my LB UI (so "Saga Castlevania" for ex. instead of "Castlevania Collection"), and placed them where he says to (Launchbox/Images/Platform Icons/Playlists), but they don't show up. Is the option to add new icons blocked for the free version of LB or what?
  3. Not sure if this is the right thread to ask for this, but is there, or could someone make, a silver ring that reads "Overlays & Bezels"? I've been looking for everywhere but I can't find any, for some reason...
  4. Guys, although I love the idea of the icons, overall it looks half-a$$ed over here because there are many missing, resulting in many blanks in that column on the left side of the Launchbox UI. I tried to find a way to fill in the gaps but to no avail, so I suppose it's a premium feature only. All right, I understand. But IMHO the premium feature should be altering the size of the default icons. We should still have default icons for each category on the free version of Launchbox, or the right to set at least one (and multiple for the premium version for ex.?). Here are the notable icons that are missing: In the ARCADE category: -Ball & Paddle games -Board & Card games -Candy Cabs (custom category) -Global VR PC-based (custom category) -Konami PC-based (custom category) -MUGEN (custom category.. I think?) -Namco ES3 (custom category) -Raw Thrills (custom category) -Run & Gun games -Sega Europa-R (custom category) -Sega Lindbergh (custom category) -Sega Nu (custom category) -Sega PC-based (custom category) -Sega RingEdge (custom category) -Sega RingWide (custom category) -Taito NesicaXLive (custom category) -Teknoparrot (custom category) -Toaplan Classics (custom category but should've been there from the get-go tbh) In the COMPUTERS category: They're all here as far as I'm concerned, but the online stores like Steam, GOG and Epic games store all have the windows icon, and they should have their own. Plus Windows icon copy & pasted like that doesn't look good. In the CONSOLES category: -NEC PC Engine CD-ROM² -Nintendo Super CD (custom category. Yeah that peripheral that ended up becoming the PlayStation, y'know...) In the PORTABLES category: -Nintendo's Game & Watch On top of that I miss plenty of icons for all my categories I created like "Mature games", "Laserdisc games", "Play later", "Popular" (favorites), and all the ones dedicated to a particular series of games in an IP like The Simpsons, Mortal Kombat, Silent Hill, Ghostbusters, Looney Tunes, Star Wars, etc. And I don't suppose the guys who are in charge of the development of the LB/BB software can come up with icons for all the categories each one of us is going to create based on our taste, so how about letting us add at least one icon, even in the free version of LB? Pretty please? Wouldn't that make for a nice addition in a future software update?
  5. Could anyone make a dogtag, or silver ring as some call it, that reads "candy cabs", please? Like, y'know, those arcade cabinets from Japan, preferably with one in the background (like this https://www.pngegg.com/en/png-eszsr ), slightly greyed out, and some nice purple & white & w/e colors for the font, for example?

    Editing Lists

I found the .xml file in LB folder's "Data" folder, in the "Playlists" folder, so it's still there, but just won't show up in my LB interface. Maybe there's something I can alter in the .xml file to make it show up? Like "<IncludeWithPlatforms>false</IncludeWithPlatforms>" type "true" instead of "false" maybe? I don't get why no box is ticked by default in the parents tab, it's so easy to forget ticking one and just lose it...

    Editing Lists

If I click on the three horizontal lines at the top left corner of the LB screen and choose "View" then "Arrange by", I have: "Play Count" "Play Mode" "Play Time" But no "Playlist"...

Is it possible to retrieve a playlist you've made in Launchbox, when you've forgotten to tick a box (like "root" or w/e) in the "parents" tab?
  10. The black & gold Neo Geo AES silver ring would look dope if only it wasn't that dark. It would be nice if anyone who worked on it could retouch it a bit. On a side note, anyone has a GOG games silver ring to spare, please? I found Steam, Epic Games (it doesn't say "store" though), but no GOG anywhere, it seems.
  11. I'm installing American Laser Games in Launchbox by way of emulating the 3DO personally, from the looks of it it's a lot easier. I don't know if they're perfectly 100% arcade-accurate ports though...
  12. Yeah I know, I had to create a folder named "INI" inside the folder "MAME" inside the folder "SYSTEM" inside my Retroarch folder, then create the .ini file by myself and basically just type "bios 16" so I would have access to the universal bios v.4.0 (which is number 16 in the list of bios in MAME) that would let me turn the Neo Geo MVS games into their AES version in Retroarch Mame, but pressing A+B+C+D+Start at the same time during the 2secs the bios splash screen appears is a chore. I think my DualShock 4 is busted. I haven't tried using Final Burn Neo for my Neo Geo games yet. What extra-something-special does it bring to the table compared to MAME? The point of using the Retroarch MAME core for me is to allow me to have my separate list of Neo Geo AES games, aside from my list of Neo Geo MVS games. The latter run with standalone MAME, so I had to find a solution so my Neo Geo AES games would launch as that, AES games, not MVS. Plus, I get to play Neo Geo games with plenty of different shaders like the one I mentioned above, and all the little QOL improvements Retroarch offers, like just having to press my DS4 Home button to display the options I need, including save state, which is better than simulating the NG Memory Card in MAME.
  13. OMG, can I get a big cup of what the f*ck... you did it! It works! What did you do??? I went through that .cfg file a few times to check and re-check it was properly done, based on what that dude in that video was showing: but with always the same result. I'm very curious what I did wrong. Wish I were at your place to buy you a beer! Thanks mate! The only small problem now is that after making a new bezel from the one posted above by removing the frame of the screen, I have black bars on both sides, and to my knowledge there's no solution for altering the size of the screen in Retroarch Mame. Or am I missing something again? Changing the resolution doesn't seem to have any impact on the size of the game screen either... Is there any chance you may consider doing what you did with this one too? With this new shader I just found, crt-fast-bilateral-super-xbr.glslp (in "denoisers") my Neo Geo games shine again like on the day they came out! Give it a try and come back to tell me! art2.cfg
  14. I've been trying to use that particular bezel for Retroarch to use with my Neo Geo games (using the Mame core, if that's important), but to no avail. Yeah I know about the name in the .cfg file that has to be exactly the same as the .png file of course, but still, it doesn't work. I did try altering the above .png file in GIMP and removed the screen frame, leaving only the bezel, to see if making really my own bezel would change something, but nah. At this point, if anybody can make it work, I'll be thankful I get anything at all, with screen frame or not. I really don't get it, any bezel I find online usually works fine with my Retroarch games (SNES, NES, etc). I do get the problem of the bezel being too small for the size of the game screen, and that too is a problem I can't wrap my head around with, but at least they get displayed. Not this one for w/e reason. Go figure. SNK_NEO_GEO.cfg
  15. Thank you so much for that cool Neo Geo AES bezel, it makes playing the Rolls Royce of consoles' games even better! I've been trying to use this as a bezel, either on MAME or Retroarch, just copying the lay file or cfg file from other bezels, but to no avail. On MAME I just get some grey scratch-like stuff on the screen, and Retroarch nothing shows up. Is there any chance you could make a bezel like the NG AES one you made for Retroarch, by using this .PNG right here, please?
  16. OK hum... I suppose I'll never get any reply to my question... Here's hoping I get one about this though: how come downloading bezels (when dl bezels actually works then, that is, for all consoles but the neo geo aes...) takes so much space on the hard disk? I just downloaded a bezel for Sonic 3 on Genesis right now and couldn't tell why it was taking that long (it says something like "Downloading Bezel Project ISA" or something) and kept waiting for a while again, and to my surprise the size of my Launchbox folder has gone from 64,9GB to 66,7GB...?! Just for one bezel?! And the bezels are found in the Retroarch folder and certainly don't weigh anywhere near 800MB. I could do with some explanation here, because I had a couple GB more on my HDD before I started downloading (just a few) bezels in Launchbox and I'm now down to 1,52GB! Why is the size of Launchbox swelling like this please? I'm seriously running out of disk space!
  17. Hi everyone, Since I believe the previous LB update, Launchbox can now find and download and install bezels for games which have Retroarch & MAME as emulators (I know Retroarch isn't an emulator per se, but w/e), and I've been able to download a handful of those for a couple of GB and Genesis games, and I have to say it's really one of the best features that's ever been implemented in LB. It's awesome guys! But for some reason, not matter what game, it never finds any bezel for my Neo Geo games over here. Is it the same for everybody or is it just me? I tried everything. Originally my Neo Geo AES games used to run with MAME like my Neo Geo MVS games (and the rest of the arcade games) and I thought Launchbox only looked for bezels if the emulator was Retroarch (I still don't get the "system bezel/Theme bezel" screen after the media download with my MAME games for some reason), so I switched to Retroarch MAME for my Neo Geo AES games, and did tick "Download bezels", but regardless of whether I choose "download & overwrite" or "download but don't overwrite" or w/e after that, it seems LB is unable to get me any bezel for my NG games. Are there only a few NG games which have bezels that LB can find? If that's the case, which ones please? I was hoping LB would find at least one, then I could just replace its .png in "Gamebezels" (in "Overlays" in Retroarch folder) with this one right below to have it as my default bezel for all my Neo Geo AES games.
  18. Somebody PLEASE tell me that "Additional Application ROMs" in this case doesn't mean "other ROMs in other categories (this Arcade, that console) that have a similar name". Because if it does, I think I may just have inadvertently deleted a few console games (no biggie), but esp. a few arcade ROMs which, for all I know, may have been parent roms needed to make a bunch of other roms work in MAME...
  19. @neil9000 OK, I went to that page in the settings and the box is not ticked, which means that when I remove a game from my favorites folder and LB asks me whether I would like to remove the game entirely, there's no risk it will remove it from my hard drive, then. Good to know. Thanks for the heads-up. Now if only someone could tell me why I get the error message "Flycast: flycast-win-x64-fast-and-whatever series of letters and numbers Point of entry procedure GetVersionExW cannot be found in digital dynamic link library api-ms-win-core-sysinfo-l2-2-1.dll" when I launch a Naomi/Atomiswave game with Flycast (both from within LB or using the emulator outside of LB). The game is launched properly after I click enter, but it's annoying to have to do it every time. This too is a new thing, never had that problem before ffs...
  20. Thanks for you guys's inputs. Sorry if I came across as impatient, I'm not. LordMoncus, by the way, I was NOT alluding to Launchbox, but precisely to antivirus software like Avast! 😉 I thought that was clear since I was talking about software that decides to erase data on its own, which Launchbox obviously does not. Speaking of which, when you remove a game from a folder ("favorites" in my case, often), LB asks us whether we would like to also remove the game completely, which I believe means delete from the hard drive, and on more than one occasion I almost inadvertently pressed yes. I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to have some fool-proof solution for this, like ticking something in LB's options menu to basically tell it, "No game can ever be deleted from hard drive no matter what". In a next update maybe?
  21. Alright so, I'm surprised not to be getting any kind of help this time, I'm not sure if I opened this new topic in the right category, maybe I should'be opened it in troubleshooting, but anyway, I resolved my problem alone, so for the record, in the off-chance that it happens to somebody else, I'll leave the way I did it here: I tried feeding it to Google and found this https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/6051/big-box-notloading Then I clicked the Download section of this very site to get another LB/BB installer and installed it, except I didn't overwrite my previous instance of Launchbox but installed it aside, just copy-pasted "ThirdParty" folder from this new instance to the old one, replacing each file in the process, and then tried launching it again et voilà, it works again. So it was definitely something about the "ThirdParty" folder that was causing this, as that dude Christian says in his comment at the bottom of that bitbucket website. Upon launching my old instance of LB with the new "ThirdParty" folder, my antivirus software, Avast, freaked out and told me it wanted to erase "Cef Settings Browser Subprocess Path" so had to make an exception. Hope I'll be fine this time. So, yeah, it was the antivirus's fault I couldn't start Launchbox anymore. I don't understand how some people develop software that simply decides on its own it's going to erase some files in your PC without ever asking for your permission, it's... mind-boggling. Avast never asked me what I wanted to do about it the first time around, it simply decided to erase part of the Launchbox software on its own, just like that. Just like it had decided a few months back to erase part of the Super Model 2 emulator or something, stopping me from playing Daytona 2. Amazing... My problem now is, how do I remove this new instance of LB I've just installed? I could just click the "uninstall" icon provided in the folder, but it tells me it's going to remove LB from my PC and I fear it's going to actually remove it completely, both NEW and OLD instances of LB...!?
  22. "... ; details of the error is provided below. The Launchbox development team has already been notified of this error" yadda yadda yadda... Launchbox worked perfectly fine just the night before, and I haven't touched anything! Anyone has any idea how to resolve this? This is the description of the error. Can't wrap my head around this, sorry. "CefSettings.BrowserSubprocessPath not found. App: Version: 12.12 Type: System.IO.FileNotFoundException Site: Boolean Initialize(CefSharp.CefSettingsBase, Boolean, CefSharp.IApp) Source: CefSharp.Core at CefSharp.Cef.Initialize(CefSettingsBase cefSettings, Boolean performDependencyCheck, IApp cefApp) at CefSharp.Cef.Initialize(CefSettingsBase cefSettings, Boolean performDependencyCheck, IBrowserProcessHandler browserProcessHandler) at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Desktop.App.PostInvalidRegistry(Object , Boolean , Object ) at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Desktop.App..ctor() at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Desktop.Program.Main(String[] args) Recent Log: 21:45:22 Exception" Any help would be appreciated.
  23. O.M.freakin'G! It worked! I just got to play Doom with the Brutal Doom and the PSOne music mods right now! I've been dreaming of that ever since, phew, I learned about this BD mod years ago! And even more after buying the classic Doom I&II ports for the PS4, which didn't come with what I suspect was what everybody wanted from Doom being back on the Playstation. The PC truly is the platform where we can make it happen, all of it! This is sick, dammit! So righteous! My PC now gives me somewhat of a hiccup here and there, like right before a barrel explodes, which didn't happen before, but who cares. Also for some reason, I still get a popup window asking which one of Doom I or Doom II I'd like to play when I start it, but again, who cares. I think I saw an option to disable that window somewhere in the options menu. FFS, I'm never gonna stop playing this. Microsoft can keep all the future Doom games for themselves if they want, now. Thank you very much for your always valuable help, Lordmonkus! You rock! Now I need to do the same to launch Doom II in the same, err, vein, if I may say so... PS: I changed the name of the .bat file, in the end. Now it's "Ho-ho-ho-now-I-have-a-machine-gun-yippee-ki-yay-motherf*cker.bat" (without the star)
  24. Already did that, yes, it's so much better with the files extension names always displayed. What do I name this .bat file though? "Now-I-ve-got-a-machine-gun-yippy-ki-yai-motherf*cker.bat" or something?
