  1. @Headrush69 Thanks. I was getting the artwork hosted by progetto-snaps since at least for MAME everything seems to by combined by different authors including Bezel Project, maybe some Mr. Do-Stuff and official artwork as well. So these include all bezels for Game & Watch, Slotmachines and other crazy stuff as well. I must say, since no gameplay area seems to be cropped by the bezel project-artworks, these are the bezels of my choice mostly. But it´s nice to have the option to switch to different artworks.
  2. I found out, that the gameplay area is actually fully visible with the bezel project artwork, so these are mostly the bezels of my choice.
  3. I don´t want the edges of the gameplay area curved, but that seems to be the case in every screenshot or video I saw. Is there any option in MAME, to override this and put the gameplay area one layer "above" the artwork, so that only the "black bars"-area is filled with an artwork as background?
  4. Which is the most complete Bezel collection for MAME in January 2022? I´m a little confused. I found: Emumovies: MAME Artwork Pack .201 Emumovies: MAME Unified Bezel Packs 1-6 by Metalzoic Mr Do Homepage (about 1500 Artworks) The Bezel Project (no idea how many) ...probably many more And yeah, I´m no fan of realistic bezels, since I don´t want crazy sunlight spots on my gameplay, that´s a real life problem that doesn´t need to be emulated anyway. I grew up with CRT and don´t want it back, so all that CRT-emulation is not what I ask for as well. On most screenshots and videos I think the gameplay window is too small or there are some CRT-curves/effects on the screen. I don´t want that, just a crystal clear square image like you would start your game in MAME normally, nice and flat with just the black bars replaced by bezels. Which of these sets (or any other I didn´t list) covers the most games nicely and what settings need to get changed? Will artwork_crop 1 work with any of these sets in mame.ini?
  5. @maikeru1986 Wow, many thanks for adding this feature! I´ve tested it out this evening and so far it´s working like a charm. 👍 And yeah, showing up a preview window is a bigger task I guess, it´s just something that came to mind, since obviously sometimes the script will download some crap you don´t want. Anyway, getting snaps for home computer systems with hundred if not thousands of games, which are not covered by Emumovies, is much more fun now.
  6. After working with kapwing awhile, it got quite tedious. Luckily there is this Launchbox-plugin for video scraping and it´s by far the best solution i´ve found yet: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/2765-vidsnap-scraper/
  7. I must say this is by far the best plugin for Launchbox and deserves more attention. There are three things, that would make it even better imo: 1. I don´t do a full run on a whole system because you would want to check if your keywords and timings fit sometimes and do it step by step with may 5-10 games in a row. But then, the Timings and Keywords are not saved and "Trailer" is not really my keyword of choice, I get better results by simply adding the system name + gameplay/longplay for example. It would be great, if the last search parameters would be saved. 2. A per-game Preview-Window before downloading would be nice for quality control. Once you´re satisfied, you script starts to download and shows up the next game/snap. And if you are not satisfied... 3. ...a "next suggestion" or "+/- 30 Seconds"-Button for the next best video would be nice. Still, even without that, this plugin saves sooo much time, thank you! 😃
  8. Thanks, this was giving me a headache today. BTW, "Load State" should look like this, you were using F2 twice. ; Retroarch loads state with F4 key by default Send {Control down} Send {F4 down} Sleep 50 Send {F4 up} Send {Control up} Let´s not forget the reset game option while we´re at it: ; Retroarch resets game with H key by default Send {Control down} Send {h down} Sleep 50 Send {h up} Send {Control up}
  9. I´ve tested out skraper.net, since I was missing some covers and videos. The good: - it was in fact fetching more videos than Emumovies did. - it´s free. The bad: - my xml-file for my test-platform (3DO with about 60 games) was messed up afterwards (turning 3-CD-Games in 3 seperate games), - there were also tons of duplicates left (it downloads one image/video per file, so this creates lots of trash for multidisc-games) - I didn´t find an option to just search for a certain game/platform and grab what I need. You have to bind it to your frontend and run all over your rom-directory. Since I just need to fill some gaps, this leads to more cleaning work than it would help. In the end all it did was screwing up my setup, so I deleted all 3DO-media folders and started scraping with LaunchboxDB/Emumovies all over again. Yeah, there were some files missing in the end, but at least it didn´t bloat up my media folders. I was just looking for a simple source for some missing video snaps, that aren´t available at Emumovies. A media hub with title/platform search and the option to download only a video snap/cover/screenshot PER GAME, that´s it. I don´t want to scrape a whole platform or download media packs with EVERYTHING, since I got already 90% most of the time. Any ideas? There is a nice webtool to edit Youtube-Videos on the fly. Sadly with matermarks, but they will be gone, if you create an account (it´s free, as long you don´t edit more than 7 minutes, which should be more than enough for a gameplay snap): https://www.kapwing.com/ I´ve started creating some video snaps for more obscure Amstrad CPC titles, if there was a longplay available. Works fine so far. Rename your downloaded video file to match your rom-file and you´re set.
  10. Thanks for your reply! Everything worked out just fine. I just used Wii-Backup-Manager for wbfs2iso, after that conversion worked as espected in Dolphin and everything seems to run just fine with my preconfigured hacks, patches, texture packs intact.
  11. This is an old thread, but maybe someone will read this and I don´t want to start a new topic immediately: At least for GC/Wii-Games, RVZ seems to be the new, "best" format for saving disc space while preserving the original file structure. https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Save_Disk_Space_for_ISOs#RVZ_.28Modern_Dolphin_format.29_-_GC.2FWii I´ve started to compress all disc-based systems - where possible - to CHD now, which doesn´t apply to GC/Wii yet. Well, I´m going for my Dolphin-Games now and want to make things right: Problem is, every Wii-Game I have is in wbfs-format, I´m talking about roundabout 200 Games. So... unfortunately you can`t convert wbfs to rvz on the fly in dolphin as is supports iso-convertion only. I´m planning to use this tool to convert wbfs to iso... http://www.wbfstoiso.com/ ...then back to rvz in Dolphin. Again: I want do make this right - will this work or corrupt my games in the process? I mean, wbfs-Files are scrubbed, so I don´t know how it will affect the games in the crazy amount of convertion steps (first iso to wbfs, back from wbfs to iso, back from iso to rvz...lol). Did anyone take this journey already? Another question: I´ve configured every Wii-Game - where necessary - via dolphin wiki, so there are lots of custom configs in my setup. Will these apply to rvz-formatted games as well or do I have to reconfigure all over again?
