  1. The best alternative is to create a second RetroArch entry for the non-extracted cores.
  2. It might be for the Rom importer only that you can use the folder name for the game name, and that doesn't help us here.
  3. Rincewind said I've been trying to get the Amiga to work and have only just found this thread, @SentaiBrad is it worth me holding on for the video release if it's on its way? No, certainly not! If you can understand the thread then by all means try and get it up and running. Truthfully I have no clue when I will be able to get the Amiga tutorial up, I am having issues with some things and I just recently got MESS figured out, so we have a lot of stuff to cover again. I know Amiga is a large request, and I will be getting it, but I don't know ecactly when. It could be this next tutorial, it could be another month.
  4. Watch our tutorial series on YouTube and start with the SNES Beginner Tutorial. From there, you can watch the tutorials on the systems you want to emulate the most. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC4NieHGwbo
  5. Hey everyone, thanks for the input, but I selected Hoxs64 because it's being actively developed and recommended for use. It's also Cycle accurate. Gizmo, unzip your games and try again. A lot of emulators don't like games being archived. As for the file extensions I use, I have .tap for Tapes and .nib for Cart's.
  6. I know, and that's part of the reason why I said I need to update the tutorial. I've since gotten them to work in RetroArc. A combination of bad rips (which there is a specific website that gives our horrible rips of any disc based system), and a combination of wrong BIOS. Some emulators are less picky, but I am wondering if that's the combination here.
  7. I was just curious, but Japanese and American games being in the same System in LaunchBox makes no difference. So I am confused as to why you had to go through all that trouble. I just opened to Japanese games in RetroArch through LaunchBox. I think you're watching my tutorial, and I probably need to go back and update it to be honest, but I can confirm games are working regardless of region just fine.
  8. We've found out with another user that their AV Software was causing their issue. Even though the AV Software wasn't actively telling them it was doing anything, they disabled it and the install magically worked.
  9. My LaunchBox performs slower than a less cluttered system, but I have over 30k and it doesn't perform all that bad though to be honest. Especially consindering the size. You could try giving LaunchBox a higher CPU priority in Task Manager. If you have any active software running that actively scans your system (active AV's do this), RAM Monitoring or anything else that can be considered agressive I would give a shot turning off. Early on in my LaunchBox (v 2.8 or somewhere in there about 2 years ago now), we found out that I had a RAM Monitoring program that was effecting my system severely. I loved the RAM Monitoring, as it also actively cleaned the RAM and was super nice, but made my system overall a lot slower and effected LB very negatively.
  10. Ah, well then I need to compile a list. :P I know what we need to change it to, I just don't have it down. I'll try and get that for you @DJQuad.
  11. Jason and I appreciate it (totally more Jason in this case). We're glad people are loving the hard work we're putting in.
  12. So I just want to note @kerszr, and this isn't something against you but a sestemic problem with the retro video game scene, your lot is big and there might be a few rare titles in there but I doubt it's going to be worth as much as you want it to be. I am not taking in to consideration some of the newer stuff, or the consoles, but the highest "Buy It Now" prices are not generally a good way to look at what a game goes for. Those are scum bags looking to take adavantage. Again, I'm not saying this is you AT ALL, but make sure that what you want to ask of people is fair. I am sad to see someone get out of collecting though. :( Why are you getting out of it if that isn't too personal of a question? I also see some great games there that I am sure Jason, myself and others would love to purchase from you if you want them going to good homes. Do you have a spread sheet with all of the titles you own? PM me or e-mail me (brad@unbrokensoftware.com) and we can help you get these in to the hands of some of the users here on the forums. They need to go to awesome homes and not scumbag resellers. :P I do also apoligize if my first paragraph is a bit harsh, but knowing how much love and care went in to the collection it might be hard to realize that sometimes (not always) your collection or a game you thought was rare might not be all that rare. I've had to come to that realization myself. I know your Earthbound cart, and Chrono Trigger cart (if I saw correctly), will go for insane amounts. I don't know if EB is still over $200 loose (not CIB), but it's up there for 1 game.
  13. Yea, your CPU and RAM are the biggest issues. If you have 2 ports and are able to upgrade that to 2 x 2GB, then that could help. However, I don't think your CPU is still going to really like BigBox.
  14. This is why Jason asked you guys to make backup's first. This is still in Beta though, so we apoligize if things are not working exactly like they should quite yet. As per showing which images you want, a system will also be in place for you to choose the order in which you want your art shown, and help fill in gaps if you so desire.
  15. This could be a bug. Are you on the latest beta or the latest release?
  16. When the RA port of anything Saturn related comes along I will immediatly do an update to the Tutorial. I only chose what I did because it is hard to ask the general user to do all this extra stuff.
  17. The plugin is currently in Alpha. Jason and a dev over there are working on it. As per the list, yes we know what we're going to change it to.
  18. For others who may come across this thread, how did you fix it?
  19. Ah, I'm sorry, I missed you posting that! I have to read a lot so sometimes I miss things. :P That said, he didn't specify why the controller wasn't great, he just said it kind of sucked, so I think he means all around. He could have potentially been talking about when it's plugged in to his NES though. In terms of the adapters, I heard some of the older ones can give input lag, but if you get a newer model (probably more expensive?) that the nicer ones can have no input lag or it's not noticable. This might also be in part due to the drivers that the adapter uses. If it adapts to Xinput drivers or the like (Something the PS3, PS4, 360 and One controllers use), then I don't know if you'd get that much. Returning on Amazon is super easy though if you got a printer. If you don't mind spending a bit of extra time, order one solution and play around with it. You can request a refund, they'll either let you choose to print out or have them send you a label, I just put it over the label they sent me on the packages, put tape all across the label (if printed), so no paper shows and then put the item back in and drop it off at a UPS center. It's not an ideal situation granted, but they've tried to make the return process as painless as possible. If you have Prime too you won't be out the shipping you paid to get the item.

    Big Box Views

Jason might have just forgotten it too. I recall being able to flip the art via a button as well, that may be broken too in the new views.
  21. You need to use the MAME importing for these (there is a check box during import) and even then it's not currently working properly. We already know about this though and are hoping to fix it soon. Regular MAME still works great for importing, either calling that Arcade or checking the MAME Box will use the MAME importing function so that it knows what the names actually are.
  22. The importer and scraper ignores anything inside ( ), and [ ], as well as file extensions which a .zip is. There might be a bug with the latest beta instead. Archives, while not suggested for discs, is totally scrapable and fine. What images are you trying to download? What game is are you scraping? If you could post in the beta thread though or make your own thread that would be best.
  23. kerszr said YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THANK YOUUUUU!!! You're welcome!
  24. Some people don't want to couple RL with LaunchBox. Granted, you can and people do, but if you don't want the feature difference then it ultimetly wont matter.
  25. Yea, I'm using ISO too. All of mine do have CUE sheets too. We must have gotten the same set. It is true though that pretty much most discs based systems require cue sheets, it's just been a while since I did 3DO apparently. So then yea, that reminds me @rmilyard, either the discs are bad rips or your BIOS is the wrong one / the wrong name / the wrong location.
