  1. The EM guys still helped us with it, that's as far as my knowledge with that goes.
  2. Tools -> Download Platform/Playlist Theme Videos is the only way to download those specific types of video. I don't know if the option even pops up for non Premium members, I honestly can't remember.
  3. Additional Applications and AHK are what you'd be looking at. There is a NoMousy script that I know @lordmonkus or @Zombeaver use. When you edit an emulator in LB, there is an AutoHotKey tab where you can post custom scripts. The Additional Apps portions lets you run programs before and after launching games, with various modifiers. The No Mousy thing would be best though.
  4. We got this forum from the EmuMovies guys, and I believe they custom built them.
  5. It doesn't translate well, but Monkus posted a link to the Playlist. On the left of the video is a menu button that you can click to see more, or if you go to the page you can see them on the right. I did them originally then ETA took over.
  6. Thanks Wallmachine! I was really tired earlier.
  7. I've never had this issue though, which is why I'm super confused. This is just another one of those bugs that is very difficult because it's not reproducible (at least that we know of yet), so it has to be software or a software combination.
  8. Back to the original problem, which was a while ago now: Mupen64Plus can only use certain shaders, the ones under GLSL I believe. However, with Internal Scaling up and MSAA set to 4 or 8, it looks better than applying shaders. Now to this new disagreement. Some standalone emulators have great options, then some don't allow you to change the resolution or put it in full screen, so most standalone emulators don't. You can not say some do, so all are great. Not even close. Hell, RetroArch is pretty great overall, but some of it's cores suck (like for PSP). However, what RetroArch does for most of it's cores is better than most standalone emulators out there. It has a common feature set, standardizes a few things, and made some tough, but good, decisions that improves emulation overall. Where RetroArch makes sense is pretty much every console on the list except DOS, PSP, DS, MAME and Dreamcast. All could change in the future, and new systems could be added to that list. Though, MAME (MESS) in RetroArch actually emulates just fine, and as good as standalone MAME, but because MAME is already a tad confusing, RA is a tad confusing, RA MAME is made worse. Their UX for that could do with some redesign to bring it in with the rest of it's design philosophy. PSP is out of date by 2 years, and DS is out of date as well. DOS I'm not quite sure whats going on. MAME has contributors, but the other don't as much. There are standalone emulators that do very, and have a few key settings that are laid out in a slightly better way. I'm not even talking about a normal Windows UI design to the XMB Style Design RA has. Both are really well, and both work. Sony had a well laid out and good UX with PSP and PS3, so that UI certainly works. It's getting better, surely, but there is still more it could do, and I am sure it will do. There are more advanced, emulator specific options for some emulators, but even those are in RA in the Core Options. Not every core gets the same treatment, if there is any treatment to make, but still.
  9. Soundtracks is possible, I remember Jason making it, and that demo video, however I don't remember how to do it. As for a single song, or songs, for a platform, that's currently not there. Unless the soundtrack (more than 1 song) options counts for the platform, I know it certainly does more than 1 song.
  10. Overlays like that might be a harder thing to do, as who made them and who wants them where can get difficult, as was evident with some video stuff a few users were doing. They were bringing over some HS stuff as video, and it became an issue fast. However, for stuff people here create, I don't see why not, but you just drop the overlays in the proper RetroArch or MAME folders and go. Unless LaunchBox had it's own system to handle these, both of those emulators use them already and cover a ton of systems. So it is achievable now. This obviously doesn't cover other systems mind you, but for the systems people want these for the most, MAME (MESS) and RetroArch are good to go. There might have been some movement on this, but people only ever talked about it once or twice, it wasn't something that came up often enough to be thought of for the Poll. Not to mention we can't make the poll 100 items. There are also already overlays in our download section that users have uploaded now that I think about it, and should work in RetroArch or MAME right now.
  11. There are two other threads related to this and some news has been posted in them.
  12. You head on over to the Database site, create an account and click add game. Just make sure to follow the guidelines. If the game already exists, edit it instead.
  13. You'll know a game doesn't have a Database entry because the game probably wont have any artwork. That's not always true, because the artwork can be grabbed from EmuMovies though. In that event, we look at games that have a LaunchBox Games Database ID attached to them. When you edit a game, in the top right corner will be a blue link. If one is there, it's attached to a database entry. Clicking it will take you to it in fact. To view an entire platform at once, you can use the Audit feature (Click on a platform on the left, then Tools -> Audit), and it will display tons of info, including the ID. There are also tons of situations where the file name was off slightly and it just didn't attach, but the database entry exists. When will the Database be complete? Never. In all honesty, its all fan funded, and we're working hard on it, but it's going to be a while before a platform is truly complete. I think one of the closest Databases to our scope is Moby Games, and while they're much farther along than us, they're no where near complete either.
  14. All that information is there, you just gotta know where to look for it. The Core Info files hold all the BIOS info and I did a tutorial on that. RetroArch, when you add it, there is the defaults and that shows you what core to use (though those need to be updated really bad). I'm sure this information will be added to our Wiki, but the info already exists. I've also made, I don't know how many posts describing and explaining it. The default emulator and associated platform parameters for MAME and RetroArch still need to be updated regardless. I made a doc of everything that needs to be updated, Jason just needs to implement it.
  15. Oh, please no Camtasia. I started my YT channel off using that, and oh wow was it horrible. OBS is significantly better for free quality recordings. I use a mix of both OBS and DXTory now days.
  16. I'm not sure much of anything will, it's extremely obscure. I did find where someone could convert it... but it was a laborious task. What are you trying to do, and how far in to it are you? I think it would be much much easier to just grab OBS and re-record a few videos if that's what you're doing. Edit: I found some more stuff here.
  17. To be honest, I haven't messed around with the mount and autoexec stuff too much, but I do know that you can mount images in conf files, and that should solve the issue. If you're mounting the disc though, why are you adding a mount in the dosbox config?
  18. Actually, a lot of our tutorials (that I recorded until ETA) showcase the best choice, and a few alternate choices. Sometimes this is RetroArch, sometimes it isn't (or is in version 1, but not in version 2, or it's not RA in version 1 but is in version 2 of a tutorial). However, lets leave Neil's comment behind, I removed it for a reason and would love to move past that. It was a mistake, and lets go from there.
  19. Ah, ok. That's really odd that they didn't just use avi or mp4's. Handbrake is still really good, so it might be worth it to check it out as it's free.
  20. Well, in order to cover something like this it would have to be on a per emulator basis, which makes it harder. I believe the software that you outlined is just a GUI version instead of making a script or knowing the command line parameters. While similar functionality is achievable obviously, it's still per emulator and would take some effort. Not many people request it shockingly. Most software does support command line parameters though, it's just a matter of finding them. The command line is the not-so-secret secret weapon of LB.
  21. Woo! There's another Brad in the YouTube comments too. We're coming for everyone! I am glad it worked though. You can edit playlists and remove them as well by going to the playlist view. So on the left side, the place where it lists your consoles, at the top is a drop down menu. From there choose playlists from the bottom. You can right click the empty space to create them, and you can also right click playlists to edit them. You can put them in their own Platform Category (I put them in Playlists myself), since I use the Platform Category view, since I have a lot of platforms. So you don't need to re-import your games all over again. If you do need to re-import stuff though, if you already downloaded all the media press the "Uncheck All" buttons on those two media screens so that way nothing gets re-downloaded. When you remove games, media doesn't go anywhere so you can have it automatically re-attach as long as the platform name stays the same.
  22. Where did you get mng files? The only thing I can find out about them is that they're completely unrelated or an extension of PNG and not video at all. My gut reaction is that they're not going to be convertible. I do see that they're similar to GIF's, but never took over. The best software for this type of job I would say is Handbrake, but again, I have zero clue if you can convert them, and I would guess you can't. Edit: It does look to be supported by some video players, but VLC doesn't even support it which says a lot.
  23. It's not that we don't want to help with the issue either, but I've never seen that RA error and it could simply be because the core is very outdated.
  24. You can already do this if the emulator supports command line parameters. Like with RetroArch, you can tell it to use custom configs when loading a core for a certain platform. You can even do this per game, but it depends on the emulator and how you need to set it up.
  25. Those aren't 14 different platforms, those are the Playlists. Your Arcade platform still exists with all of your games, but LaunchBox automatically creates Playlists for Arcade based on the popular playlists people wanted. When importing MAME, there is a check box on the MAME Importer at the bottom. Unchecking it will make LB not create playlists.
