Button 2 exits game while using Steam Link/Big Box
SentaiBrad replied to rampantlemming's topic in Troubleshooting
What is that button mapped to do? I would say you might have controller automation enabled and that button set, but if it's only happening on two emulators and not all three you tested, then that can't be it. I'll post this to our Discord group. Several people just picked up Steam links on sale recently, and they might have some more concrete information for you. -
Ah, then I am behind a bit. Regardless, 1.7 was this weird we need crowd funding but we're just going to hide our emulator behind a donation wall failed attempt, and now, it's not even needed.
-
It was kind of a disaster. It was free, sort of, you had to donate, then you got a download link... but it was still free...? It was dumb, and it lasted for a while. Then suddenly 2.0 came out instead, and now they have 2.1 or 2.2 (can't remember which exactly). If I recall, it changed some things, but it never really improved too much. The latest version now is fairly decent considering N64.
-
Well, it might in the future, or even on a beta currently, but at least when I made the video it needed to be set.
-
Well, I haven't had issues with non-merged for .182, only split. I still haven't imported .183 split yet to see if that's good to go.
-
@Suhrvivor is pointing you in the right direction, the support will help a lot. Otherwise, it's all in settings on the channel.
-
You weren't using it in an incorrect way, but I assume the philosophy is to not replace existing roms. Sometimes, especially when it comes to certain media, I don't think Jason was comfortable making certain assumptions. I'm not sure if it should be changed, but I get the duplicates can suck. It is easy to sort by date or name though and delete them within Windows fairly easy. You could delete the games in your LaunchBox, without removing the files, use a tool to rename the games and remove "-1" from everything, then re-import and use the uncheck all button to uncheck the image and media check boxes. It will re-import really fast, and all the artwork you downloaded will re-attach automatically.

RetroArch is having issues with 4k if I recall, and it seems they may not have fixed them. I don't remember the fix for this, if there was one, but maybe @lordmonkus or @Zombeaver knows. It is true though, now your laptop is pushing out to two screens, and one of them being 4k. Do you have a GPU or is it integrated graphics? If it's integrated, then the CPU is doing two jobs, the job of the GPU and the job of the CPU.

Currently, there isn't a way in application to do this, as you found, it matches your monitors resolution. As a workaround I'm sure you could probably launch it through a batch file to change resolution, then change it back when it closes, but obviously that's not a total solution. I'm not sure if it's been requested before, but click Issues/Requests at the top of the forums and request your changes there! If it already exists though, it would be better to vote on the existing ticket, and if not, vote on your own.

AES Was an actual console so I don't think that's going anywhere, but we had discussed all of those separate Arcade boards being merged. The games are generally the same, and you can still have any number of custom platforms with the Scrape As feature. -
I don't see why not. https://www.youtube.com/SentaiBrad
-
There is from EmuMovies, Viking and Nyny. Scrape as will automatically treat it as that platform, but go to Tools -> Download Platform Theme Videos and grab the one you want. If the platform is otherwise the default name, it should pop up.

Is it possible to have one platform use multiple retroarch cores?
SentaiBrad replied to alexeon's topic in Noobs
just use regular FBA or MAME. The arcade cores in RA work, but they're a bit more complicated and not the best. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6pTDaHeAz-WMcNURVPU-1xLN_TVpT3FB -
In the dark theme on firefox I've never had issues seeing it. On smaller resolutions, like mobile (regardless of desktop site), you'd need to click that button. \

You can technically pass the default command line to them, but you'd have to edit each game individually and not have the command line be passed at the emulator level. So technically, yes, but a pain in the butt. -
The top box works just fine for me on the dark theme. o,O;;

Yea, I don't have much experience either, but assuming it's the same or less performance as a laptop, that won't do much past SNES, Genesis, CD and some mid to late 90's Arcade. Up to GBA may run well too. If you're getting this thing for $100, and don't mind, potentially, not being able to emulator N64, PS1 and Saturn well (if at all), then get it and try. LaunchBox and Big Box may have some performance issues as well with a decent sized library. Slimming down your install and turning off transitions will help. If you're not expecting much, I say go for it and return it if you hate the thing. If not, I would personally say to avoid this thing. If you had that hardware in a handheld form, I could see being all over that, but the CPU and RAM leave something to be desired.

MVS is just Arcade, where as the AES is the consolized versions, but still just from the Arcade. Some of the platforms still need to be merged, but scrape your MVS platform as Arcade and you'll be good to go.
-
Sweet, CEMU is progressing fairly nicely. It sucks they have such sweeping changes constantly, but that's what you gotta expect this early on.
-
Some emulators have this feature, but most don't. If this hasn't been request, please feel free to request this feature by clicking Issues/Requests at the top of this page. If this feature request does exist, please vote on that ticket instead.

How are you recording your screens
SentaiBrad replied to angelobodetti's topic in Collections and Builds
Yep, Handbrake is awesome. I never need to use it usually because Premiere does the same job, but if you're not editing it's a life saver. -
How are you recording your screens
SentaiBrad replied to angelobodetti's topic in Collections and Builds
Yea, I use OBS to capture the entire screen, DXTory to capture games, and OBS + the Razer Ripsaw to capture consoles. 4GB for 4min is great. In DXTory, I have 30 min episodes at over 120GB. So 1GB per 1 min, is great! Once it's rendered and compressed (edited as well if need be), it shouldn't be nearly that much. The average tutorial and RSS episode is less than 1GB each at the length they're at. They average about 600-800mb before uploading to YouTube (they'd be a bit smaller if I downloaded them back off of YouTube). -
Close down BigBox and open up your LaunchBox/Data folder. Make a copy of your BigBoxSettings.xml, and then delete the original. This will reset your settings, and I assume keyboard and controller keys. It will generate a new one when you reopen BigBox. Let me know if that fixes the issue.
