The thing is that is a command that the program doesn't support (Demul) so not much LB can do about it- 10 replies

I don't think you can set a command line to do that in I'm assuming Demul best way would be to make two separate emulators one with each setting and point them each to the specific games you want. Ninja'd by Neil- 10 replies

yeah if you combined them but couldn't access them that would be bad solution. I assumed you know how to access them but wanted to change the facing rom sorry for the misunderstanding
-
If it is pointing to the wrong game it is as easy as editing the game and then changing the path to be the one to the game you want.
-
that isn't what he is saying. If you have 5 games you want to consolidate you can use ctrl and left click to select them to be consolidate all of them together.
-
Oh I thought that was the non merged set we were discussing earlier
-
I believe merged sets would still need the bios but I'm not 100 on that
-
This is true even with the bat file it is pretty simple to look at its content and add your own games once you see what it is actually doing it isn't really that complex you just copy what is there and add the rom name and extension.
-
well basically if you set it up for split it is already setup to work with nonmerged also and really if there are clones in the list and also the parents it would work with merged also since those clones will just be inside the parent rom so it probably won't matter all that much
-
You mean non merged then merged is actually smaller than split.

Okay so an empty one will look like this <Publisher /> a full one will look like this <Publisher>Capcom</Publisher> the easiest thing that I know how to do would be to type <Publisher into the find box and then use find next and it will switch to each one you would then edit one with a value filled in from the example with Capcom to look like the empty example so depending on the platform and how many games it has with a value filled in could be a lot of manual work. Now if you knew which publishers where used you could find <Publisher>PubName</Publisher> and then replace it with <Publisher /> to clear it out. Then it would just be a case of rinse and repeat for all the Publishers and of course it would work with the same structure for the Manufacturers.
-
You could probably open the platform specific xml with Notepad++ and find and replace the value there with what ever it needs for a blank one. I'll looking into it and see what you would have to type to find it and what a blank on should look like to replace it since its a bunch of different possible names you would probably have to run it multiple times. To be honest it would probably be a pain in the ass you may just want to wait and not mess with those settings until you can see if the behavior stops in a later release.

maybe a setting is messed up try to get a fresh copy of RetroArch to test and see if the results are the same.

well 50 is for a lifetime license its only 20 for the one year and that allows you to upgrade to lifetime for 30 after the year is up (after the year BB will continue to work you just won't be able to update it anymore) so you don't have to actually pay the 50 upfront. I believe if you find you want a refund it wouldn't be to hard to get one.

I like to have LB and emulators on my computer and use a network drive for ROMs but I know others have only one setup and use stream through Steam In Home Streaming so both work. I would suggest testing streaming 1st and if you are satisfied with it stick with it if not try it the other way.

Okay I edited your post to show your screenshots (why I don't know) that will make it easier for other users to help you or maybe future users to learn something. As to your queries on the directories they are correct you can add paths to all that different content for roms just like you are doing. As to the Extra and Multimedia files quick question do you plan on using LB or just MAME if you are using LB those files will be redundant as LB will scrape its own images many that will be the same and if you are using LB you will rarely ever see the MAME interface. Based on you comparison images I don't see any overlap but I believe it will be safe to overwrite the files and add the additional stuff Not sure if I follow you on the paths I've downloaded the Extras before and I just unzip them and add them to there the matching folder with in MAME (don't use UI version) this way I don't have to edit the paths they are just in the default folders MAME is trying to use.
-
Standalone MAME lets you set directories from the UI without needing to edit the .ini mostly you can do the basic stuff from the UI only need the .ini for more advanced settings
-
I like stand alone for certain reason like it handles screen rotation and multiple monitors better than RA does and I have a few setups that utilize it. Also if you want to use the MESS components of MAME it is much easier and doesn't require the specific software list naming that RA does.
-
lol I use MAME and never have to type in command line MAME has it own built in UI and has for a long time now
-
Okay in MAMEUI (which I haven't used in awhile) there is an option to set paths for certain things but I'm not sure of the extent of it actually. Really MAME isn't that complex once you grasp a few of the concepts of how it works but that can take awhile sometimes. There is some good info here explaining how certain things work. http://docs.mamedev.org/
