that sounds like the emulator not the roms they are separate. You don't need any thing to update the emulator to the newest set just install it and go.

no if you have 187 and its a full set and not an update pack you should be good you would only need the 188 update pack and you could rebuild your roms to the latest set

do you have z axis scrolling enabled in the LB controller settings if so turn it off.

whatever rom set you have if you want to update MAME to the latest set in CLRMAMEPro you need to have all the coinciding update packs available and then point the program to them so it can rebuild them. If its a lot of packs you would just be better off getting a new full set. You may want to wait the 8 days until the 0.189 set is released if you are going to go that route.

in the UI video settings there should be an option to turn off force aspect ratio that should make everything wide screen

regular MAME has the option to show CHD games also in the UI

Emulators are easy to find and we can point you to a few but the ROMs you will have to source on your own due to copyright laws we simply can't tell you where to find them. they occasionally do go through changes but most likely they should be fine

to use MESS games in RA you pretty much have to use the software list games there is a way to do this but it involves making special edits to every game you want to run that way. For MESS stuff MAME is really much easier to get going

Games like Killer Instinct aren't going to work unless you have the chd files to go with them they aren't included with the roms they are another whole 500GB download themselves but you can find the ones just for the specific games you want the chd's for.

For RetroArch did you go into manage emulators edit your RA entry and add arcade to the RA associated platforms arcade is not included in the automatic setup if I remember correctly

yeah the zip tool does work with multi-part files I think but depending on file type I believe it is optimized to use the .cue files and maybe a few other extensions what file extension are you trying to load.

use ctrl+a to select all games then use ctrl+e or right click to edit this will open bulk edit wizard there you can change the emulator for all selected games in one shot

yes there is a line on the additional apps form for command line parameters

It depends upon the core really for things like Nintendo DS, PSP, Sega Dreamcast and a few others there are advantages of using the stand alone emulator over RA. Mostly the uniformity of RA makes it pretty damn awesome but for some cores they just aren't as good as their stand alones or other stand alone emulators that don't have RA cores.

Okay your error say you are missing needed files from the roms but you say the games work from MAME which is weird the screenshots that @lordmonkus asked you to provide could really help us see what you have set up and if any of it is incorrect. Did you move your ROMs into the LB folder and if so did you edit your directories in MAMEUI to reflect the new directory path.

In the additional apps there are checkboxes to run before the app and to run after the app so you can set up an additional app that starts joy2key and then a 2nd one to stop joy2key when the game exits without need for a .bat

The Ultra isn't going to push Demul either Demul actually utilizes your GPU and the intel graphics on the board just won't do it NullDC may fair better but I would be doubtful.

do NES and Atari 2600 really even need GPU rendering you can pretty much emulate them on toaster.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, but I'm talking about the automatic consolidate feature (in the beta) that merges roms based on their alternate titles oh yeah I've had all my games added for a long time now so I've never gotten to use the auto consolidate feature only the manual one. yeah it struggles on certain games with parts one and two

so if you use ctrl and left click to select all 3 games and right click on Sea Battle it doesn't consolidate all 3 at once
