It turns on the plugins it has a list of them in the ini file and either a 0 or 1 value for on and off. That's what a lot of the settings in MAME.ini are just 1's and 0's

It was the plugin.ini file that was breaking it for some reason.

Yeah now I just copied only my .ini files and it isn't working again so something in there is breaking it.

Well I installed and then copied a bunch of stuff from my previous build to the new folder so I did another fresh install and it works so its something in my settings I guess.

Yeah the discount only applies to premium LB members as far as I know.

Just go the latest version and its weird that when I add it to LB it works to launch the games without any issues but if I try to open it without a game (from both the right click context list in LB and straight up in File Explorer) it just flashes on screen and then disappears. Anyone else seeing this issue?

You need Daemon tools or some equivalent to use SSF.

zipped 8 and 16 bit games aren't really an issue and they work quite well as long as the archive only contains one ROM which can be an issue with some.

I believe there is a NeoGeo bat floating around somewhere on the internet that copies the files out of MAME

Yeah this hobby does take time to get it set up right you have to decide if you want to invest the time or not.

I'd buy one 8GB stick just in case I wanted to upgrade then I would only need one new DIMM stick and not 2

My software list rom set is a little older actually but I doubt many things change about the game carts in MAME

Yeah I've never tried it before and I don't have it in LB or anything but I do have the software list rom set so I can test things from the UI fairly quickly

Most emulators don't take advantage of core threading from what I've read.

No I'm not saying that at all I'm saying it just has that weird screen that is all I got but I didn't try waiting.

Yeah If you aren't doing any video editing or professional work I would suggest only the 16GB

http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-3570-vs-Intel-Core-i3-6100 I ran this with the 6100 as the 7100 is so new its not even on the site to compare but you can see in benchmark test that new i3 scores better so I would think the 7100 would just continue that trend.

I get the same results when launching from the UI just that weird screen for all games

you can always add a path to the ini file or from the built in UI

by default I think that the software list games should be in folders named after what ever the command line uses inside of the default ROMs folder.
