Just to add on you can also use win+s to pull up the search from there you can type the name of a window 10 app and right click it in search and create a shortcut which is only good for adding games one at a time but an easy method to access the games without any code.

yeah scanning the db for an individual game in the edit menu was much slower than before today and that is the local metadata.

I imported my SNES PAL games and the one game I knew for sure that had artwork in the DB and an Alt Name Super Probotector wasn't found to match an db item on import and then again when trying to edit the game individually no game was found is returned leaving me to believe the alt names still needs a little more work.

Yeah whether they can do it or not I have no clue but they would definitely be the people to ask about at least trying to implement the feature in their program if they want to stay current with what LB is doing.

I find it to be much more keyboard intuitive but for a controller the UWP app probably works good I know its great with touch at least.

Just make a backup to remove all risk and it doesn't really matter if you are aware of xml encoding characters I'm not and I've never had an issue changing my paths its extremely easy

I've seen others make shortcuts for all their games and put them in the same folder then import them from the folder using any emulator as a dummy then after import they use Ctrl+a to select all games and Ctrl+e to edit the emulator to null by choosing to edit the emulator and then leaving the emulator drop down blank close the wizard and you should be good to play.

What you call pessimism I like to call having realistic expectations and this way if your expectations are surpassed that is great its further along then you anticipated and if not your aren't disappointed because you didn't expect much to begin with. Plus this post hasn't been added to since Feb. so I'm sure development has improved in the last hundred odd days or so.

I don't personally use NAS as I have a Windows Home Server 2011 box running my network and the only thing I can see maybe that looks wrong to me is your trying to make it Emulation//ServerName for Windows it has to be \\ServerName\Emulation\SNES besides that I don't see why it wouldn't work and just in case it doesn't make a copy of your data folder before you make any changes to anything and this way its an overwrite away from putting it back to how it was before.

Hopefully it will work for you but that is a feature that shouldn't need to be utilized with a 5th gen i5 as its for weaker systems with less processing power.

Well why I don't want to say the DB is in its infancy its isn't that old and many of the changes have been slow in coming from how the data was managed by The Games Database to how the LB team has opted to catogorize it. Just within the last few weeks the submission guidelines were rewritten so the DB is still suffering from some growing pains as it is worked out how best to manage it. Hopefully the changes that @Vlansixhas been tirelessly implementing will go a long way to getting all of these issues resolved in the near future.

If you are unhappy with the performance I'd suggest contacting support@unbrokensoftware.com and asking for a refund then, as with you specs you shouldn't have issues. If you have Windows 10 Creator Update and you are running MSI Afterburner it has been known to cause issue but if not then pretty much the clean up advice is all anyone can offer since we don't know why some people suffer from unbearable low speed and while others have no issues.

The NES Famicom situation should ended up getting merged sooner or later Sega CD 32X is separate because it is a different with their own unique box logos and all if you were to say that it is Sega 32x then damn really all 32X games and Sega CD games should just be part of the Genesis/Megadrive collection then since they are just add on peripherals for it.

You could always use the Windows search features to find just the roms extensions and then copy all of them out of the folders and do the same to the ROMs and jettison the folders all together if you wanted to edit the ROM names and not the folder names
