  1. That's not what he's asking about, or at least I assume that's not what he's talking about. That's been there for a while anyway. Content Specific Core Options is to save altered core options (Quick Menu -> Options) with a game loaded on a per-game basis.
  2. Do you mean "content specific core options"? That should be in Settings -> Configuration. It's to enable saving altered core options for specific games. I'm on the latest stable at home (but not here at work) so I can double-check tonight, but it should be there. Worst case scenario you could add it manually to a core/game override with the line: game_specific_options = "true" As far as shaders, cores will use the shader listed in config order: per-game override -> per-core override -> base (retroarch.cfg unless another is specified). They can also be saved as shader presets on a per-core or per-game level. I don't use shader presets though - I just set them with normal overrides. You might want to make sure you haven't saved a preset by accident.
  3. I'm a longtime Perturbator fan, and while his stuff has always been "heavy" I have to say I think this is the heaviest/darkest stuff he's ever done. There were several "Whoa..." moments in there. I put together a "mix tape" playlist of stuff a while back for background music for City Hunter that you might be interested in: As a C64 nut that grew up with boxes full of hand-written-label disks of cracked games... I can confirm this haha. When I was a kid I didn't actually realize that cracktros weren't just part of the intros to games, many of them are that well-made haha.
  4. I can't find much info on it, but it's possible that it requires 3.1+ yes. I've actually got instances of 3.1 and 95 setup in DOSBox. 3.1 is fairly straightforward, but 95 was quite a chore to get up and running in DOSBox. There are quite a few tutorials on how to do both, but I'd definitely start with 3.1. I've been focusing on adding some 3.1 stuff to my library lately: 9: The Last Resort Burn:Cycle Crusader: Adventure Out of Time Dark Seed II Dust: A Tale of the Wired West Four-Sight Gadget: Invention, Travel, Adventure Johnny Mnemonic Logical Journey of the Zoombinis Majestic Part 1: Alien Encounter Panic In The Park The Dark Eye The Journeyman Project Turbo! Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time Once you get your 3.1 instance setup, you can just duplicate it for specific games (it's only about 50MB), boot it up, install the game, and then add the path to the game .exe to the run= field in the Win.ini file (\Windows\Win.ini) and it'll boot the game as soon as the 3.1 OS starts. Pretty handy.
  5. Ahhhhhh yeah. New Perturbator album boyz.
  6. Yep, overrides will save the controller type and remaps will save specific button changes. Unless that mode swap button will also set the "Analog to digital type = " field to "none" (which I assume it doesn't), you'd also want to set it to none for those games, and save that in the override. It's normally set to left stick by default. Otherwise, you're still going to be sending digital inputs for those games, regardless of the controller type that's set. That's the way it is for PSX anyway. If you've got preexisting overrides, you can either load them up, change it and resave them, or add it to the override .cfgs manually with the line: input_player1_analog_dpad_mode = "0" I'm curious to see if mouse support has been added too, for Policenauts.
  7. Nah, I love board games! I'm a big fan of Mansions of Madness and Dungeon Run, and of course some classics like 13 Dead End Drive. Mansions of Madness has quite a long setup time, but it's a blast if you get a good group of people together to play. Also, while not quite a board game per se, I play D&D every week. Nerdom can take many forms, they needn't all be digital
  8. I won't be able to test it until tonight, but presumably you'd want to set/save it for individual games that support it. That's how I did all my PSX overrides for Dual Shock vs Dual Analog vs Digital Pad. You'll want to set "Analog to digital type = " to none for those games otherwise you'll still be sending d-pad inputs. This is a list of games that support it: http://segaretro.org/3D_Control_Pad#List_of_supported_games
  9. My god... it finally happened...
  10. I added the below games to my library, several of which needed overrides. Further details are on the sheet. The Book of Watermarks Blazing Dragons Brain Dead 13 Chocobo Racing Chocobo's Dungeon 2 Driver 2 ESPN Extreme Games Rally Cross 2 Spot Goes To Hollywood Ubik Xena: Warrior Princess Additionally, I altered the folder/core override name to match the updated core name (Beetle PSX HW instead of Mednafen PSX HW). The old location/name seemed to still be working with the existing overrides, but I noticed that any new overrides I created were automatically being placed in a new folder for Beetle PSX HW instead of Mednafen PSX HW so I just went ahead and migrated everything over.
  11. Yep, that's what I have in the instructions I linked above.
  12. There's no reason to duplicate the entire RA folder, that's total overkill. As I said in the other thread, I've got instructions on how to do this here (click on the "Zombeaver replied to" part to go to the right comment): Since then I've expanded this to cover Genesis Plus GX and FBA too.
  13. I have instructions on how to do this here:
  14. Yep, VLC will occasionally crash LB for me - as ckp said, it's fine in Big Box.
  15. Yep, this is what I usually recommend to people if it's something they need to do on a frequent basis. @cZ8tL this is an old post (I've cut it down to just "Retroarch" and "Retroarch - MAME" now, thanks to overrides) but the process is still the same:
  16. Let's just go ahead and be perfectly clear here, in case there's any confusion - you can (and should) report a review that was, for example: "Five stars! Kill all the Jews. " Do not report a review of: "1 star. I hate this theme because the 80's were terrible and cyberpunk sucks, therefore this theme also sucks." or "1 star. Theme dun work. I have awsom Alienware rig, should work k? lol" Both are dumb. Neither will be deleted.
  17. Uh dude, seriously right now? Have you been on the internet recently? I've got Youtube videos that I've spent a week or more on that might have 10, 20, 30 dislikes on them, with no comment as to why whatsoever. Not even a dumb reason - literally no reason. The upvotes outweigh the downvotes, but it's still a negative response for no reason. Does that ruin the content? Well, all the other people that liked it, and said they appreciated it, would probably indicate that the answer is no. The internet has trolls. It's nobody's job to shield you from those. It's something you have to deal with the moment you set digital foot onto the glorious and terrible interwebs. If somebody's being abusive, sure, that's when action needs to be taken, but somebody saying "I don't like this." is their opinion, legitimate or not. You're a smart, cool guy, but this is quite literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard you say. Grow a skin dude.
  18. No, that's normal for standalone. For RA though, every core needs the .dll to be specified in the associated platform tab, as Neil indicated above.
  19. @Retro808 very interesting! For standalone MAME I use MAMEUI v0.167 so that might explain why I haven't had this issue. That certainly seems like something worth testing @Wheeler. It looks like you can get older versions of it here.
  20. I actually use an older build myself (v.167). I just got it from the MAMEUI website, though it's on v.188 now. Have you tried Retroarch at all? Like I said, that's what I use for the vast majority of my arcade stuff.
  21. I really don't see anything unusual, honestly. I use MAMEUI not MAMEUIFX but I imagine they should be fairly similar. I actually use RA for most of my MAME stuff, but I do use MAMEUI for a handful of games. It definitely appears to be some kind of rom issue, since it's not finding everything it needs, but I'm not sure why it's working in standalone but not when launched through LB...
  22. @bujinkanrn completed Lunacy on standalone Mednafen. He's got the save files attached above - I never did get around to testing them in RA, but you might want to give that a go. I'll try it as well if I get a chance.
  23. I'm a massive fan of The Midnight. Love those guys.
  24. Think that might actually be a record, short of the Chinese spammers that get one or two spam posts in before getting banned. Some of them probably got more than 4 posts honestly.
