  1. He modified the Launchbox theme which is a recent feature addition and he has uploaded it here:
  2. If you wanna trash talk emulator devs and say they are "badly making" emulators then you can go elsewhere, this is not the place to talk shit about some of the most highly respected devs in the emulator scene. I also highly recommend you do some research on the Mednafen team and see just how talented they are, they make the best Saturn, Playstation and best TurboGrafx emulators around today and for you to just trash them is just plain disrespectful. Locking this thread now.
  3. In all emulators CPU is the most important driving force in driving it. GPU is only used for graphical enhancements and in some cases shader caches and outputting the image itself to your monitor. You can say that Mednafen or the RA Beetle core isn't worth it or even bad but it is by far the best Saturn emulation you will find.
  4. The emulator is fantastic, if it doesn't work you either have incorrect bios, incorrectly named bios (case matters) or you have bad disk images. There are a ton of bad disk images out there and the emulator requires good disk dumps, ReDump and DarkWater are both good dumps.
  5. You can contribute yeah. Or you can just upload the pack itself to the downloads section here: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/category/18-game-box-art/ @Robin55 has been uploading a lot of great media packs, I used his Saturn and Sega CD packs because they are much better than what is on the database.
  6. Non Merged is the easiest to build a hand picked set from. So you can either spend more time downloading the full set or more time testing your games to make sure they work after being picked out and put into their own setup.
  7. Maybe because they haven't been uploaded, the database is purely volunteer driven.
  8. Again though, if you are doing that make sure that if you are using a split rom set as the base that each game as any required bios and possible parent if you are picking a specific region clone. The region clones only contain the "different" roms and not the entire game which is what the parent file has.
  9. It doesn't have to be an exact name but it should be close, of course the further off of the name you are the more likely you are to run into an issue.
  10. It should be named very similar to the rom file or the game name in LB.
  11. You can simply drop the art in the appropriate folder: \LaunchBox\Images\Sega Genesis\Box - Front\Europe
  12. Yeah it's double the size because it has a lot of duplicate files within each of the games zip files such as bios and parent roms for each regional clones. Where the split set breaks everything up and that is why the bios and parents are required to play the regional clone versions of games. If you are going to have a full set and import it into LB we recommend using either the split or merged sets. Only get the non merged set if you want to create your own small custom set like I do or you just don't care about drive space and a large download.
  13. The names of the zip files are what they are, they are named by the Mame dev team and they have to be named that way. Picking and choosing what you want from a split set can get very time consuming because of how the files are "split" up, hence the name. Non Merged is a much larger initial download but every zip file is one self contained working game which includes any bios or parent rom required for the rom. With a split set you will not only pull out a rom file, you will have to pull out any bios required and any other parent rom if you want to have a specific regional "clone" file.
  14. If you have a full split set use the built in full set importer in LB but if you are planning on picking and choosing your games I highly suggest downloading a non merged rom set and picking each rom out, this is what I have done with my NoFiller set:
  15. Yes, it all still works. I still follow these exact steps with every Mame update.
  16. Keep an eye out for a plugin being made by @eatkinola, it's in testing for now but is coming along quite nicely.
  17. Locking this thread for now. There is plenty of stuff in the main post to keep Jason more than busy for quite a long time if he decided to implement them all
  18. Ok, now do that for all the different emulators (even the obscure ones) and keep it updated any time an emulator dev decides to change it or it gets broken for some other unknown reason. I want to create software that works out of the box, is easy to use, and doesn't break with new emulators that come out.
  19. Any sort of save state management would have to be setup on a per emulator basis because they all have their own save state hotkey combo which would have to be implemented into the pause screen. It would be easy to do it for the most popular emulators such as Retroarch and Mame but would take time to put in support for all emulators. This would in essence the become just like RL and it's emulator modules which as many people know have to be maintained and updated with emulators and this gets very time consuming and a pain in the ass for the end user when they break.
  20. Make sure your mame.ini is located in your main Mame folder where the emulators executable is and not in the \ini folder. Having it in the \ini folder will load games straight from Mame itself but not through Launchbox. This is a known issue with Mame for whatever reason and has many posts here on the forums.
  21. I will only tell you what I do in my setup. Everything is on the mechanical hard drive which is a 4TB Western Digital. While I do have a 512 gig SSD I only have my operating system and larger open world modern PC games installed to it. I don't notice any load time issues with LB, emulators or roms on the mechanical drive but I also do not have any of my roms compressed in zip format so there is no decompressing required before playing.
  22. As far as I am aware of this is not a feature and not planned on anytime soon, I think this this is the first time I have seen anyone even mention it.
  23. There may or may not be a setting to fix Hulk for you. PCSX2 generally requires different settings for different games.
  24. 1.5.0 dev build, really there is no reason to not use whatever the latest dev build is unless it has some obvious issues but generally speaking they are perfectly fine with no issues. I haven't run into any issues using a dev build.
